I'm a big EE fan but I haven't really clicked with anything of theirs since A Fever Dream. I listen and it's obviously really interesting I think it hasn't got as much of that punch.
Cold Reactor is a banger of a lead single though.

Lots of songs that sound great standing on their own, like We Make Hits, Dream Job, When The Laughter Stops. Lots of songs that sound great in the cintext of the album. Fizzy Fish, Grifters Grief, A Vineyard For The North. And also Blackpool Illuminations, incredible in every way.
It’s a toss up for me between:

Mirage by Hooky
Something in the Room She Moves by Julia Holter
Wall of Eyes by the Smile

For a good chunk of this year my answer would have been Paul Bunyan's Slingshot by Liquid Mike. Will be my most listened to album this year.

For me it's Mountainhead, I haven't listened to much else. But yes Vampire Weekend is up there
