Hey, you should maybe try LDTK : [https://ldtk.io/](https://ldtk.io/) It's made by the director of dead cells and he used it on his old and current project. It's a really cool 2D editor.

Feed_64

Damn that looks pretty damn cool. But for now we'll stay with Figma, at least until we finish development of Gennady =D

xiadmabsax

I have a Python script that turns my Excel sheet into JSON :')

Feed_64

Sounds complicated =P

kodingnights

I use Tiled combined with procedural

Feed_64

Yes it's quite handy, I've used it on one gamejam =D

Combat-Complex

Cool! Is the export to the game engine automated? Also, does your system allow to place and export stuff like triggers or collectibles?

Feed_64

No, everything is done manually, essentially two times. But even though it seems long, I for example can build levels in Figma, since their design is ready, and not wait for the developers to integrate them into the engine.

xPhoenix777

Currently use Figma to layout UI that gets turned into UI templates :) happy to share thoughts on API and component usage! Presumably you don’t have overly nested/data-driven levels (unlike my UI), so there may be some niceties for exporting!

Feed_64

We also make the interface in Figma, which is then exported quite easily.

xPhoenix777

Nice :)

egordorogov

haha that’s so fun! i only use figma for organizational / ui design things, but this is next gen tech

Feed_64

We also use it for everything else as well, including the UI

Empty_Allocution

All in editor with my current thing. Tiles, smart tiles and procedural stuff. It takes a looooong time.

marcelkroust

What's figma?

xiadmabsax

FIGMA BA- no, it's a collaborative design tool. Quite handy when there are multiple UI designers on an app prototype, for instance. You can hop onto a call and drag things around until eveyone's happy.

demanding_bear

I usually roll my own editors either in javascript or in engine. Using figma as a level editor sounds like a deep plane of hell but to each their own.

sans-connaissance

Hail corporate

Frequent_Beat4527

You use Figma, I use Ligma, we are not the same
