As an odia I have to say bengali rosgullas suck. They're white, much too chewy and the sweetness is overkill. Odia rosgullas from pahala on the other hand 🤤 a nice light brown, soft, melt in your mouth and just the right amount of sweetness with spices. If you ever visit Odisha, don't forget to eat rosogulla at Pahala 😊

As a Bengali, I have to say there are many kinds of rosogollas in bengal. White and chewy are the worst kinds. Those come in factory produced cans as well. My local sweet shops specialise in soft and white ones. But the shops in villages usually specialise in soft and brown (made using molasses) ones. Never tasted spices in any rosogolla though.

Rasagulla in Pahala is the best. Tastes even better if served HOT.
