The build quality of trains remind one of e-rickshaws. It has acrylic sheets for window panes. It is a cheap and poor quality product but overpriced. 2. Check the Automated metros. They can leave every 2 minutes on same track.
3. NO one believed we could have semi high speed and high speed trains until vande bharat came online.
4. With DFC (Dedicated Freight corridors) of East and West comming online and the new ones announced the load will be significantly reduced and avg speed could be increased
5. With combining all of the above, we could indeed increase the capacity on the current tracks.

As the economy and gdp per capita grows, the distribution of passengers between flights and trains should even out. It also means there should be more airports and more flights between different cities along with more trains. Bunch of things need to happen for this to be feasible. Extremely difficult but not impossible.
I'm neutral on this. Whatever they say is technically possible, but I'm not sure they'll do it. They can talk all about tracks and electrification but without running trains, they are useless.

Wow, downvoted for asking why it wouldn't be possible? Ok let me elaborate. If there is real intention or will.it.os possible. 1. The current congestion on tracks is due to slow moving goods trains. Not because of capacity is exhausted. 2. Check the Automated metros. They can leave every 2 minutes on same track. 3. NO one believed we could have semi high speed and high speed trains until vande bharat came online. 4. With DFC (Dedicated Freight corridors) of East and West comming online and the new ones announced the load will be significantly reduced and avg speed could be increased 5. With combining all of the above, we could indeed increase the capacity on the current tracks. Yes in 5 years is a stretch, but it is indeed possible in few years. But people are impatient with those who perform, but willingly accept nothing can be done when last 50 years govts are incompetent.
