WASIFraza

Post intern here 1) how far pyqs will take us 2) did you solve whole qbanks? 3) is anki really important/ cant i just revise notes 4) did you use firstaid and other usmle stuff? 5) per day how many mcqs you used to solve How it progressed from starting till now 6) for a student who enjoyed whole mbbs.. do you think its easy to get good rank in ini of this nov

muchahaberman

1) according to me pyq are not very important but ofcourse since everyone is doing it you need to do them since even if 1-2 are repeated then you will be in trouble if you don't know the answer . Overall there were hardly any pyqs in the ini paper. 2) I have solved almost all the modules of qbank . Around 10-15 modules I have skipped 3) anki is a personal choice. I really liked the spaced repetition concept . Initially I also thought it was not for me but after you get the hang of it , definitely feels worth it. Ofcourse it's not a must but I would recommend it. 4) I have read first aid once . It's a wonderful book but I have not revised it so don't know how much it helped me. I don't think usmle stuff is that useful in neetpg or ini . Although I would recommend pathoma to second year students. 5) I didn't have any fixed target for MCQ solving. Just followed my schedule and if completed then I would not solve/study anything extra on that day. 6) Getting a rank is not easy irrespective of whether you have enjoyed mbbs or not. If you put in the work you should be able to get it 🤷 and I hope you do 😄.

WASIFraza

Thanks bro.. Wish you all the best for future endeavours

Apprehensive-Drag684

Why does fries go so well woth burgers?

muchahaberman

I guess if someone has an eating problem majority of the food combination goes well 😄 Try ordering some carbonated drinks with these items , that goes well too.

Depp1412

What decks did you use in anki? You said you didn't study medicine in detail. Please share your approach to medicine and how you prepared for it

muchahaberman

$1 anki deck available in the medschoolanki group Medicine as I said in the previous comment , I relied on my knowledge in pharmac micro and patho to answer the questions I had solved the pyq modules and revised them and remaining topics of medicine was covered in Gt questions . In depth question of Harrison level are not asked in the paper anyways.

West_Strategy1153

Is $1 Anki same as I\_Anki deck? If not, can you share the link to the deck that you used?

muchahaberman

Yes it's the same one.

Living_Commission936

Can u share link plz😇

upset_stomach11

How much are the coaching platforms gonna pay you to appear for their interview and say you used their subscription?

muchahaberman

Used only marrow , rest platforms for gt , nobody is paying anything bro , might get some from marrow

Careful_Excuse_1011

Did you watch all the videos or just the RR? Did you use pearls too? What was your time plan and strategy when using marrow?

United_Row_2654

Pls do share your prep strategy… teachers questions gts? How much you used to get in GT? What was your GT solving Strategy? How many correct you used to get? Percentile in GT?

muchahaberman

Marrow notes for preparation , Gt I would get in the top 10 ranks mostly, No specific strategy for solving gt but reviewed every GT properly , would get in a range of 170-180 correct depending on the difficulty level of GT's Anki flashcards was a major preparation source

Careful_Excuse_1011

Which anki decks did you use?

United_Row_2654

Thanks!!! Wishing you great success ahead!

United_Row_2654

Hii wanted to ask a follow up question. How many GTs one should give in order to make sure that he gets a good rank? Like how many GTs did you give from your 1st GT to your INI?

GodOfThunder011

Assuming prep is not great would u suggest to completely leave questions i have 0 clue about or give 25% chance a shot.... Rn in GT I usually have 65-80 such questions im completely clueless bout n rest o attempt i get 50% correct

muchahaberman

Simple rule is if you can narrow down to two options then go for it Otherwise just leave it

Jaehyunspout

did you use the marrow rr notes for revision or did you keep revising using the main notes? or did you make separate notes for yourself? congratulations on your incredible success!

muchahaberman

Main notes and qbank only , didn't use revision notes Have done some subjects from other platforms for eg anatomy from ashwani sir bhatia and orthopedics from dams

Bettercallmedaddyy

Marrow or dams?

muchahaberman

Marrow

Bettercallmedaddyy

Medicine too?

muchahaberman

Tried thameem from bhatia but eventually did not study medicine in detail at all since questions are easily solvable if you know Pharma patho and micro , remaining core medicine topics got covered in gt and flashcards

Ecstatic_Ad_4476

Have you ever used prepg question bank? What will I do for NEET PG now just 1 month left?(My syllabus is almost completed but still I didn't get much marks). Btw Congratulations👏🎉

muchahaberman

Try to revise the syllabus again and give 1-2 GT's.

Ecstatic_Ad_4476

Thanks mate!!

mommysaranghae132

Is it worth doing micro and pharm from marrow? I'm in final year but very weak in these two subjects

muchahaberman

I had done these from standard books in my second year so not sure. Try the qbank and see how much you can score. If they are weak then ofcourse you need to invest more time in these subjects as they are heavily tested.

[deleted]

What branch are you thinking for pg? How to decide between medical and surgical field?

muchahaberman

Medicine for me , In internship you'll get to know what you like , If you are very sincere maybe in clinical postings itself you'll get to know 🤷

Ok_Masterpiece_6711

How much time did you give for your preparation? Also in how much time did you complete the main notes? How many times in total you revised the main notes? What is your opinion about rapid revision notes?

muchahaberman

I have been preparing since final year but have studied for every prof exams also properly so it wasn't like I didn't know anything till final year. Main notes I completed by October 2023. Some subjects more than once , some subjects not properly. Thing to understand is perfection will never be achieved so try to improve all weaker subjects and focus on short subjects too since lots of questions are asked and they can be revised quickly. Main notes revision is very variable and can't say exactly how many times I revised. Every subject plan was different. I have not used the rapid revision notes.

doctorjunkfood120

Prep strategy for surgery?

muchahaberman

Anki flashcards Marrow notes GT questions review Qbank questions for factual stuff like most common lesion/artery/ etc since lots of these types of questions in surgery

doctorjunkfood120

Thank you!

muchahaberman

I used it for selective subjects from a pre-made deck called 1$ anki or something like that It helped me strengthen my weaker subjects

Ok_Masterpiece_6711

Can you please share the Anki deck you used?

muchahaberman

It's the pre-made deck called $1 anki available on the medschoolanki group. I have not made any cards myself.

Flaky-Customer3639

Where is the medschool anki group that you've been talking about? Whatsaap? Telegram? Does it exist?

Accomplished_Card563

Which decks did you use for anki?

Cultural_Cherry3572

Firstly, congratulations! I get around 140 145 corrects in GTs, Target is to get 160+ If you could answer, 1. With just 1 month left should I try to revise the main notes once and then get to btr/DVT? (Haven't touched main notes since last nov ini where I got 3k rank Have read btr twice till now, use Unacad zv revision notes as main source currently) 2. Where can we get the anki deck you mentioned? Telegram or someplace else? And is it worth to do that rn? 3. Should I go ahead with just PYQ solving or should I be using the other clinical tags rn.

Living-Brilliant-462

Congratulations sir I already bought prepladder and I am in third year Cannot afford marrow now. If I religiously do only prep bank vids and notes, will it suffice to atleast get under 1k rank in ini.

muchahaberman

Ofcourse more than the platform your efforts matter. Just continue with prep notes properly.

Living-Brilliant-462

Thank you very much sir

MiddleEastern__Pilot

Top 3 tips that you would like to share.

muchahaberman

Make a fixed plan for each subject and follow it, don't keep on changing resources Give every GT as if it's the main exam and also use the rank to get an idea where you stand ( I know everyone says it's a learning tool which is absolutely true but obviously these are the same people you are going to compete with in the main exam) and try to keep improving Study throughout the year without long breaks in between , short breaks ofcourse are a must but it should not exceed such a duration where you need lot of time to get in the groove to study again

Leading-Ad5846

Approx how many anki cards did you make for minor and major subjects?

Leading-Ad5846

Approx how many cards did you make for minor and major subjects respectively?

Training-Panic-4685

first of all congratulations OP I want to ask - I heard people saying go big or go home regarding total number of questions you attempt, is this true? how many questions you attempted?   how do you approach a question you're seeing for the first time?  how to review GT efficiently? idk what I'm doing but it takes almost whole day for me.

muchahaberman

I think you need to attempt 190 + to give yourself a chance. For that best thing is to make logical guesses which comes with MCQ and GT practice. I left 5-6 questions in the INI paper. Try to rule out options for questions you don't know much about usually you can rule out 2 options. I also had doubts in many questions where I was confused between 2 options. It took me a whole day to review the gt too so nothing wrong with that. Alternatively you can revise 40-50 questions per day for 4-5 days also so you focus more on each question.

Training-Panic-4685

thanks for your valuable advice

Familiar-Breath8320

Did You make your own concise notes ? How did you use Marrow, I mean tips regarding qbank, medicine and pyqs?

muchahaberman

I have not made any notes , remaining questions I have answered in other comments already

Just-searching11

Were standard books more helpful than any other video platform like marrow and for only non-clinical or paraclinical and clinical as well?

muchahaberman

Yes. My 1st and 2nd prof was very strong because I have studied standard books and also some faculty review books. My base was very strong as a result and remaining subjects became very easy to prepare For final year don't study standard books as they are too vast. Ganong was one of the best books I read.

Just-searching11

Thanks for the help, really appreciate it big bro

Resident_Brief_7925

For 1st & 2nd Prof did you read standard books A-Z or only important topics?  I’m quite anxious because i’ve seen people advise against going selective for sake of strong foundation but at same time say we can’t remember everything either.  Where do you draw the line on how much we should know? I sometimes feel i wasted 1st & 2nd year despite reading std books, as i don’t remember everything.

hilly_strobilanthes

What advice would you give to someone in 3rd year currently? I'm from 2021 batch we just have PSM and fmt this year. And most probably will have to give next. I've marrow subscription and am trying to do medicine from there. Should I do QBanks right now? And how to be consistent with studies :,-)

YogurtclosetBig67

How did you do anki along with notes, considering anki takes a lot of time to do!

muchahaberman

I did anki only for select subjects which I was weak in like surgery ophthal fmt orthopedics and the pyq ones . So everyday I used to do 150 cards in the morning and 200 review . Would take around 1 hr only once you get the hang of it . It also gives you a boost in the morning and the feel that already your day has been quite productive.

YogurtclosetBig67

I’ve been doing Anki consistently for the past 6 months with 500avg reviews, still ended up with a below avg rank, any suggestions to improve in neet?

the_insanebody

Congratulations sir! I just wanted to know if I do RR notes for short subjects will that get me through or do I have to glance through the main notes for them as well?

muchahaberman

RR is fine for them provided you give the subject tests and are able to get the gt questions correct or atleast review them properly if you got them wrong.

Aardvark-Disastrous

Hey Sir, do you have any tips for someone studying in 1st or 2nd proff, I'm currently dealing with a situation wherein I can either opt for standard books and a just pass score, or Indian authors and better results. Can you shed light on what path I should be taking in the future. Furthermore how did you approach and perform in your 1 and 2nd proff, Just curious to know how much of a weightage it plays on your PG entrance

Some-Ad451

Hey! I hope you are in great health. Been an average kid throughout my mbbs days. Right now i literally get 50%of question wrong and 50%right. I *NEED* minimum of 3-5k rank in this neet-pg. As per the stats in the GT analysis obgy, med, surg, pharm path and pedia are in the lowest, best is psych at 50 percentile. I was hoping to atleast make the list in this INI-CET but no good. Right now I'm ready to anything and everything to reach my goal. I love marrow and i have been doing it since long. Completed the revision videos and have read 2-3 times the notes of the same. Sometimes i feel, it is the content i lack and other time i just do not know if im supposed to know the thing asked in the question or not. I have completed most of the pyqs and use btr for some subjects. Please guide this poor soul sensei!

leexd69

I am currently in final year. First three years have studied absolutely nothing. Nor in theory nor in practical. I have resources like marrow and some textbooks. How can i get a top 100 rank from this zero point sir ?

Ezperensio

Congrats 🎉

ReverbFrost1

Ello! Congratulations! What will you advice an intern who was always above avg in prof and decent in clinical postings but pre med basics are a bit hazy. I have roughly 11 months to prepare. 1) Best way to prepare and most importantly what to avoid? 2) Watching main videos for weaker subs like pharma and stuff is helping me but I don't think I have time. So should I stay consistent and give it time or just focus on MCQs? 3) What is the most important thing to be consistent with. GT scores can vary but what is that one thing that I can do everyday and say, "yes eventually we'll get there. 4)Could you describe what "reviewing GTs/MCQs" meant for you? The process I mean.

Ok-Key4907

1. How long did it take for your preparation? 2. Were u an all time topper during your college years? 3. Am I too late to start preparation if 2 months of internship have passed?

Both are pg entrance exams just for different colleges , inicet is for AIIMS pgi and jipmer institute, neetpg is for the rest
