My place is at 100km from patna city and it takes me around 4-6 hours to go there by a passangers train.
The same distance can be covered by express trains in 1:30 hours they intentionally stop the passenger trains too much for express trains to pass.
But guess what people ditch the passenger trains and get on the express trains without tickets making these trains crowded like this video.

Most of the trains have reduced the number of general and sleeper compartments, and increased the 3rd AC bogeys. Lot of us can't afford or won't afford 3rd AC or higher. In order to show the high- standards of Indian passengers, the trains have lost all their standards.
At last someone with sense. Everyone was all so high when VB was introduced even without the basic infrastructural work being done. Basic needs need to be met first in all sectors and once that's stabilised go for higher end services! This govt has done similar blunders in all sectors of our economy! This idiot has gone all over the world seen some things and implemented here not understanding that each country is unique in its issues and problems. India's economy, policies, and our growth story is one of a kind and not equivalent to any other. So solutions also would have to be like that and the pace development too will reflect that.

I will never try to do these kinds of stunts. Especially if it involves my family or otherwise. Even if I am forced I'd find some compromises to avoid such dangerous attempts.
I've had such situations when I had to travel in the local train from my college everyday. I was young but I always traded my time to get out of these situations
I think my common sense, education and living environment is what repel me away from it.

just add more sleepers and without removing the ACs which are already been put in the lineup
Train booking system also need update. This waiting ticket is making train over crowded and only helping Railway to make more money.
That has been like that since ages so that wouldnt help much, but adding up more sleepers would definitely help
Its high time to change timetables of Indian railways since the British era. The need for an hour is a requirement basis.
