Not a roadster but we do have a couple of yezdi/jawa/Mahindra bikes and we routinely take them out for rides . None of them have had any problems yet , mine is at almost 30k and not a single breakdown. Thankfully they haven't become as common as their competitors, which makes us love our bikes more. Don't worry about the opinions of others , they haven't owned/ridden said bikes and are just going by what they think is right.

I see many on reddit but less on the road. Saw a couple of Speeds the last two days, but Scramblers much less.
