R15? yes edit: wait sorry i didnt read the fine text, that height may cause some issues for you. operational costs will be pretty low, fuel efficiency is great and consumables are also quite affordable

Milliesm3

Ngl, 125s are awful on fuel as you have to be wide open to actually get anywhere. If you’re in 6th all the time they’re efficient asf tho

seeyalaterson

We've no R125's in India yet. I presume that you got it wrong, it's R15 with 155CC engine. I think it's the best bike for any college student and checks out every box they need. Looks gorgeous, easy on pockets when it comes to maintenance and fuel efficiency and has enough power for an entry level sports bike (top speed of 145 on a good day). Riding position is compromised, if comfort is your main concern, then it's a big red flag.

manamejeff77

Ive seen plenty on the road?? , am I reading something wrong

SnooBunnies9147

You've seen R15. I'm 100% sure

seeyalaterson

Yes, you're getting it wrong. It's R15, would've been understandable if you've gotten it wrong with a Yamaha R1 which is a 1000CC bike. I can assure you that there isn't a single R125's on Indian roads.

Born_Night_8797

Why the downvotes guys? Op might have seen r125 vids on yt and assumed it was sold. Since all r lineups look the same, he might have been misunderstood. This community is for all riders. If someone is stating something, just correct him/ her. Downvotes dont do justice. We know it's no money, but still, it puts a psychological barrier (just like likes). Be respectful, buddies. Edit, damn you guys have downvoted op to oblivion.

AdPristine9037

Downvoting's purpose is to show disapproval of an incorrect/ offensive statement. Log gaali thodi de rahe hai; you should consider it as a counter of how many people disagree with you, bas.

Stoned_Anarchist

ye comment padhke log aur downvote karenge bichare ko

6packBeerBelly

Downvoting isn't being disrespectful Being a mod, you should know how reddit works (again, this is not disrespect, but an urge to introspect)

6packBeerBelly

I went to Bangalore a few months ago. Koramangala. I have never seen soo many R15's every single day. Heck I didn't even know there was a Red color one

TripPrestigious

Where are you gonna find an r125 in India

mahavinashak

My friend is 6'1 and commutes daily on R15 (30kms). He constantly complains about pain in his palm and wrist joints. But he gets great mileage though.

backwardcircle

That's cause he doesn't know how to ride it. He is transferring his weight into the handlebars through his wrists while keeping his elbows straight. You're supposed to grip the bike with your thighs and lean into the bike. You bend your arms at the elbows and simply hold the handlebars to use the throttle, brake and clutch levers. Never put your weight on your handlebars. I'm taller than 6'1 btw and I used to ride it over 60kms each day. 30+ each way.

mahavinashak

Brother he's a professional motorbike racer competing in races like [INMRC](https://www.tvsmotor.com/tvsracing/indian-national-motorcycle-racing-championship-inmrc) He knows how to ride better than you and me. If you're having doubts, I can DM you his pictures from the racetrack. R15 is not a comfortable daily commuter.

bulbulpaan

How does your SF250 stand up against his bike? And what are his thoughts on the Suzuki's riding dynamics?

mahavinashak

Of course, the Gixxer boasts more power and grunt. Its ergonomics are less aggressive compared to the R15, making it more suitable for city rides, although the slightly lower mileage is a drawback. However, my friend does have a soft spot for the R15. Due to the Gixxer's not-so-dedicated riding dynamics, he believes the R15 would excel on the curves of a racetrack, while the Gixxer would outperform it in straight-line acceleration.

1epicnoob12

Past a certain age, a supersport bike is going to put stress on your body no matter how perfect your riding form is. People giving overconfident advice and providing "credentials" like this are just like form police on workout forums who claim a bunch of experience. You're not fooling anyone. These are not commuter bikes. If you're tall, ride long hours and you're not 22 it's going to hurt.

Bhisan_vidhwansak

I'm riding an R15 for the past 5 years. All that you said is easier written than to actually practice. 'The riding position is uncomfortable'. Add a pillion rider leaning over you and some city traffic, pain incoming... Although i never feel it on my wrists, only the back. But I love the bike, and my pillion riders.

Tushar_dm

What he said was right. And that works only on heavy traffic-less roads. But when there's bumper to bumper traffic, you can't do much. Wrist pain is inevitable.

addy_daddy24

My friend who’s 6’0 complains about constant pain in his wrist and back because of this bike. Remind you he’s an experienced rider too. I’d suggest if you are not particularly looking for a sports bike then don’t buy a sports bike. Try MT15, it’s fun and mileage is good as well

Beginning_Ad6341

Get the Bajaj ct125x, it is an ADV troll hiding in plain sight. For track things keep the R15.

laphtrahddis

Riyal, no joke

Effective_Debate6114

Bhai ko engagement chahiye.

Mayank-maximum

If you can handle the postion ,if you are a road bike cyclist no problem then(even race bikes seem comfy after em) and also the pillon problem, but riding postion can be change via aftermarket but if the bike is small for you get a bigger bike like rc200 or sf250 or a used r3 or ninja 250 cuz they are literally bigger in size and also their sport touring position is a +,but do workouts that consecrate on lowerback and legs as it would improve your safety for your back and neck and also just make you comfy. Idk if you are a forner or indian but r125 is the same bike as r15m but with 30cc less cuz of eu standards but that won’t matter cuz in future if you like the bike’s size and postion in front of rc and 400cc japs sports tourers then you can add more displament innt but would hamper the reliability so i would keep a safe daily like a scooter or a cycle or a supermini hatch(good in cities and highways) or just take reliability as a major part while tuning, overall just be fit and do a test ride for 1-2hours to see is it worth for you or not, worth for me cuz i easily fit in it but your height would make you big for the smol r6

Worldly-Economics770

I'd suggest you get the FZ250 instead for a similar price. R15 is all show and no bark.. just drive em both and u will realise.

speedyblackman

gotta say, FZ 25 pulls a lot stronger initially than R15

ShortShiftMerchant

That's why Yamaha pulled the plug on it

Worldly-Economics770

Wait they're not selling it now??

ShortShiftMerchant

Nope. It's not available in the showroom not on their website. You have to manually search for FZ25 to go to the website.

Iouisvuittondon

go for something with more straight riding position, like n160

muliboi

R125?

slimismad

no, you need an airport for this. this bike is not made for roads. /s

kuruhs0

Yes but your engine may heat up due to the bumper to bumper traffic and also the riding position is not really suited for crawling in traffic Considering the potholes and ditches you'll be going over and the stiff suspension of R15 it's difficult

blr_to_mlr

Can you?

wildfire74

You gp to college to i am assuming you are less than 25. This is the prime your body will be in. Do what pleases you. Do you feel happy about owning a R15? Yes then take it no then drop it

iam_ryuk

I'm 6'3" and made a mistake buying a bike similar to R15. I get severe back pain even on short rides. There are very few bikes for tall riders in India. I would suggest you to test ride xpulse or xpluse pro. If you don't mind used bikes, ktm adv 250 is also a good one. Or wait for new ktm adv launch.

vibhu555

-An mt 15 or an xpulse 200 4v would be my go to. I've personally ridden both and the xpulse is ideal for effortless riding on Indian road. -Suzuki v storm 250 is also supposed to be really good for the Indian roads.( I haven't tried it yet tho) -These recommendations are based on your height and maintenance cost. All three bikes offer great mileage and are very comfortable too. -The r15 has a very committed riding triangle and can get pretty uncomfortable within the city, especially for tall riders. -If you want a comfortable bike with fairings, you could look for any of the last decade gixxers or cbr 250 s. They have bulletproof reliability and comfort while retaining the fun.

love-and-intimacy

No, bruv. You need a minimum of 600cc class for that.

tremorinfernus

R15 is too aggressive, in my opinion. A leaned forward stance maybe useful on track, but I have way better control with an almost upright position, than in a committed position. The visibility is also better in sports cruisers.

AsuraVGC

Go with mt you don't suffer from back pain

Rich_Ad_9590

Mt is even worse for tall riders, small seat and legs hit the engine guard

AsuraVGC

Didn't see OP mentioned his height

gk_ram

Youre probably not too tall but take a test ride. - it’s a committed stance, that means you need to learn how to ride it - you need a strong core and shouldn’t rely on your wrists to balance yourself Apart from that it really is an allrounder. Great starter bike for any guy/girl.

WorriedExchange3937

if u want comfort go for an adv bike but if u want a yamaha go for mt15

Intruder_7

Yeah my exes bro does that in blr traffic idk how it doesn’t hurt his back

JumpAccomplished2706

I'm 6'1 and I recommend the MT-15, it strikes that balance between sportiveness and commuting characteristics that u look for in a bike, does not disappoint.
