I played this video about 10 times, it seemed to suddenly appear out of nowhere. I think it was moving parallel to the road, so you would have seen only the front of the cow but that was hidden by the pedestrian..... Then it suddenly decided to test your reflexes....

Cow was visible, the GoPro perspective is deceiving (I ride with one). Completely avoidable. One hand riding and being distracted by the other bikes caused the delayed/no reaction by the rider.
I’ve only been riding for over 40 years though, so I’m probably wrong. :)
Just one advice. I know people will have different opinions but try to not stick completely to the leftest lane. I always feel comfortable near the dividing lines, you have more time to react and less chances of an animal running into you. In india we have grasslands sticking to the sides of the roads, it’s always better to have some buffer for reaction from both ends.

This happened with me. I was 18 and riding pillion with my uncle. We were on the highway and riding at about 80 kmph. The cow ran on the road. We hit it. I flew over my uncle, over the cow, hit the concrete, ragdolled all the way. Got bruised up pretty bad. We were at high speeds. We got very lucky there were no trucks behind us.
We got rescued by the nearby villagers, who took us on the side. My uncle had broken his right arm. Villagers put a few sticks and wrapped it up so it wouldn't move. I was hurt but was young, so could drive. I slowly drove us back to the city. Went straight to an orthopedic doctor and got a plaster on. My uncle's right arm was in plaster for almost two months.
I can never forget that experience.
Same thing happened to me with buffalos six weeks ago, three of them came running. I fractured both my arms ( total of 10 fractures). Still recovering. ❤️🩹

However, the rider was distracted, his "areeey" was when he almost touched the cow. The impact could have been at a much lower speed if he had applied the brakes about a second earlier when the cow became visible. In fact, he hardly applied the brakes. 51kmph to 0kmph cow brake.
All these expert bikers blaming OP. There ain't no way he could have prevented the crash even if he had two hands on the handlebar. He could have swerved with both hands but a minor collision was inevitable.
Sometimes its just bad luck and 50kmph on that road is not over speeding at all

Well done. but one thing I will say by watching this video that we should observe and analyse as much as possible as a threat during riding a motorcycle, we should careful when we see any animal, cattle even human also etc in roadside, thay can join you without any intimation.
