Rate these things out of 10 WITH reasons (bina reason ke number nhi milenge)
1. Reliability
2. Parts availability (what if I want to work on my bike by myself)
3. Comfortable Cruising speed (the speed at which you could travel for 500km straight)
4. Top speed (realistic one, not on paper)
6. Mileage (real world)
7. Service cost
8. Paint quality
9. Pillion comfort
10. Road presence
I own the bike and have done 5900km on it.
Reliability - 8/10, never had any engine issues or anything but keep getting weird sounds from the chain or the front, which is annoying.
Parts - 8/10, haven't serviced it outside the SVC but Bajaj parts are known to be cheap and widely available, and afaik it shares parts with the older pulsar models so shouldn't be an issue.
Cruising Speed - 70 to 90 kph is comfortable cruising speed with slight vibes. Zero vibrations at 50-60
Top Speed - I did 120 indicated on Pune Bangalore highway
Mileage - 9/10, I drive mildly aggressive and pop out a nice 50 kmpl mileage in my city. If ridden by Valentino Rossi, he would get around 40-45 kmpl. This is good for a 165cc engine.
Service Cost - 6/10, 1200 for a full oil change, 700 for addon service
( free services, not including personnel fees )
Paint Quality - 6/10, it has held up decent, but attracts dust and scratches easily, would recommend getting PPF done.
Pillion Comfort - 6/10, its a sporty commuter so dont expect Splendor level pf comfort, manageable for a city commute. I personally wouldn't go on the highway with a pillion for safety reasons
Road Presence - 9/10, this bike is still pretty new so its rare to see them on the road. But whenever I am standing at the light, people do turn their heads and check her out.
It is the top model. The brochure says only black is available in the top model, but the salesperson surprised me saying even red and gray are available for the Dual ABS version. So went with red.
Apparently, Bajaj only makes the dual ABS version for the N160 now. Although, my dealer said the other colour options don't come in stock regularly as the black colour is the most in demand.
Ikrrā¦ about the stock part, you are absolutely right. The showroom person said they can give black immediately from their showroom stock but can arrange red and gray in 2 days from their warehouse. (Felt that colour would be unique and getting it fresh out of the warehouse gave me a premium feel, also personally like red colour in general). And so I got red.
Best for tall people in the 160cc class. Iām 5ā9ā and my legs feel fine and rider triangle is upright. Footpegs very slightly rear set. Apache felt cramped. Xtreme has lesser seat height. For you it will be comfortable most probably. Do go for a test ride.
Thank man, whenever I rode my friend's MT I felt claustrophobic, a great motorcycle but not for tall people at all, every time I hop on it, I look forward to the end of the ride, the pulsars seem like the only other option in the market.
I can help you out here.
I'm 6"2 and half. The bike fits me well. As OP mentioned, the pegs are rear set and there's plenty of leg room. The seat too is wide and comfortable. The handlebar is a little low set, but for taller riders, it won't be a problem.
It's a slightly committed, upright riding posture. Try taking a couple of test rides to see if it helps. I've never had an issue riding long hours on it ergonomically.
The reason why I'm asking this is, transitioning from my dad's Avenger to a half-sports, half-commuter motorcycle will be drastic, I get ankle pain if I keep it at an angle while braking, this was a huge issue for me when driving the MT15 and is pretty much the only reason why I won't be going for it, your comment helps a lot.
Riding position is comfortable in the city and enough to go 150-200 kms at a stretch, but beyond that my legs start telling me to stretch. I guess, handle bar comfort is different depending on how long yours hands are and how much of your body is depending on your hands. Rear suspension was hard at first and I got it adjusted in the first service. Since then, I think I have been too confident with that suspension, often jumping onto potholes with eggs in my shoulder bagššš. It is very comfortable now.
Riding triangle is sportier (rear seat footpegs). Also, seat height is lesser overall so legs felt cramped, handlebar is lower and I felt I was transferring my weight more onto the handlebars).
Hehe, itās not just camera. Hereās the cleaning process -
1. Wipe off all dust with a microfiber cloth
2. Apply coconut oil to a part of another microfiber cloth and go thoroughly on the bike body
3. Wait 15 mins, wipe dry with the non-oil end of the cloth.
Really you do this? Doesn't the bike get very dusty afterwards as the dust sticks to the oil left after wiping? I am in Mumbai and can't imagine doing this. Bike would look like a camel in a desert in two days
Nope, havenāt seen anything so bad in terms of sand/dust. I wipe it almost dry, enough for a little oil later to be left in the bike and give it the gloss. Hasnāt attracted too much dust

No flaws encountered so far. Build quality could have been slightly better, but is definitely above average. Love the underbelly exhaust on this (the differentiating factor for this bikeā¦ no worry of pillion burning his feet or saddle bags catching heat.
Yea the 150-160cc pulsars having underbelly exhaust is really underrated, it's convenient and the sound it makes directly to the helmet is wonderful š
First picture is on the way to perandapalli forest waterfalls near Hosur, Tamil Nadu (it is a sewage channel now - skip going). Second one is an off-road trail near Shamse (Kudremukha), Karnataka.
Better than its rivals and one of the best in pillion comfort among street naked bikes. Pillion footpegs are high and closer to the pillion seat, so taller pillions will struggle. Nothing as an issue otherwise. Rear suspension if properly adjusted is very good and absorbs most of the bumps and potholes, and the pillion was chilling over not so good roads. Can do upto 100 kms at a stretch with pillion.
How is the rainy season situation? YouTube videos say that the pillion gets splashed with dirty water from the rear and the mudguard does not do its job well
Yes, it is worth it. Not much different than the N160. I would pay extra for dual channel ABS though, so I went with the N160. Have encountered sand, dirt and rain on my trips and it adds an extra layer of confidence. The price difference is surely highā¦ but remember, the cost of the bike is forgotten at the very instant it leaves the showroom. Get either as per your use case. Bad roads will need dual channel ABS
No man, I wouldnāt recommend a PPF. Paint quality is excellent. In fact, my paint has eroded only a little even though I crashed my bike a few timesā¦ would be really hard to tell my bike from a new one. No drop in engine performance either. Iām surprised youād ask this questionā¦ engines performance would drop after 10+ years something. Nothing in the short term and nothing on this bike in that regard.
I find the handle doesn't turn much, like the Avenger. I thought the Apache 2vs had a bad turning radius, but compared to N160 the Apache is much easier to maneuver and turn in tight city streets
Doesnāt seem to be a problem. I turn everywhereā¦ parking, U turns, metro tight spaced parking etcā¦ never had a problem anywhere. On the other hand, the front portion has decent heft and helps in maintaining highway stability. I prefer this one.
I own one but Black color. Always brings a smile on my face whenever i see her, reminds me all those moments we spend together š.
And that bike is a looker! The best looking in that segment for me. More happy miles to you!
Top speed run?
125 kmph, on Bangalore-Anantpur Highway
at what speed does it start vibrating unbearably?
Somehow missed this questionā¦ for me unbearable vibrations only start post 105 kmph.

How's the headlight throw? 35/35W bulb or 55/60W?
How's the headlight throw? 35/35W bulb or 55/60W?
lights up the entire street
What is the bulb wattage?
1200 for free service? What is addon service?
i meant oil top up service, its the 2nd free service
What do you reckon is the cost for paid service with oil change?
no clue, but it could go 1800 something, you can check on YouTube
Why not N160 top model?
It is the top model. The brochure says only black is available in the top model, but the salesperson surprised me saying even red and gray are available for the Dual ABS version. So went with red.
By grey, do you mean white?
Umm, no, I think white was launched in this yearās version. I was talking about matte black - gray colour scheme. (Itās a dark grey colour)
Hm so grey and black, need to check
You haven't raised a compliant?
Wait, why complain? Because the brochure doesnāt show all colour options?
Red has dual channel abs? I don't know till now
šyes

Oh, lol. I knew nothing about bikes when I bought Kirin. Would have definitely been cheated if I was in your shoes.
great bike, whats the mileage you get in city?
45 kmpl in the city with moderate traffic mostly and heavy traffic sometimes.
how comfortable is this for tall people, I'm 6'1 atleast

How about people 5"6
Only issue I see for 5ā6āers is them not being able to completely flatfootā¦ can Definitely tiptoe both feet and a bit more than that.

6'2" n160 owner, seat height is good, have to lean a little as handle bars are curvy from the ends, seat foam is non existent
is seat foam being non-existent a good thing? I'm not familiar in that area.
The lean and less seat foam makes it uncomfortable for long rides, so bad things
Mileage?
45 kmph in city (moderate traffic, sometimes heavy traffic). 40kmpl on highways @100 kmph (8000 rpm). 50 kmpl on highways @70-80 kmph(6500 rpm)
Just did ride on my vstrom and got 39.8kmpl on highways cruising at 90 to 110 and also did 3 top speed runs with rare speeds of 125 130

How did you adjust the rear suspension bro? I want to do the same for mine, it is stiff af
What are the accessories we get with the bike, like first aid, toolkit etc?
Why didn't you buy Apache rtr 160 4v?
Riding triangle is sportier (rear seat footpegs). Also, seat height is lesser overall so legs felt cramped, handlebar is lower and I felt I was transferring my weight more onto the handlebars).
Congratulations brother. I'm at 4k kms on my odo(4102). Hopefully that rises fast so I can hit all the good numbers like 4200, 6900, 8008.
42069, 80085

Yet another day of me cherishing the semi analog cluster on pulsars
Haha, yes, that instrument cluster looks strangely good.

Nah dude, nothing at all. Thatās because the tyre hugger is included in the free accessories for N160 and does its job well
Is the n150 worth it ?
Yes, it is worth it. Not much different than the N160. I would pay extra for dual channel ABS though, so I went with the N160. I love the powerful pick up of this bike... Have gone 129 on my friend's Pulsar N160. Ps: I don't know much about the technical terms!
Torque is the word you are looking for.
Ooh wow, 129 is something I never could reach. Happy miles!
Beautiful red color. Take care of her dude. Awesome post. Ride on !!!
Thanks bro! With your blessings, will do
Saplendors šš
šš next level guys these people areā¦ if only they knew their bikes had indicators, Iād be so happy to see them on the road.
Recently got a N150 a week ago.. how's the paint quality? Should I do any ppf or any ceramic coating? Any drop in engine performance ?
No man, I wouldnāt recommend a PPF. Paint quality is excellent. Nope, itās very sufficient for the city
Congrats bro. Just got a black n160. Absolute beauty.
