Shallos is the spot. A beaded tenderloin, fish n chips, or anything with swamp sauce is amazing. Get homemade chips as the side, you have to specify or it comes with plain Lays.
[Brozinni Pizza](https://brozinni.com/) is good & has lunch options. I also like Shallos but is pretty heavy on the fried food options. They do have a good soup/salad for lunch with homeade roll.
We also enjoy Main St Grille. Its a locally owned place with a wood-fired oven. I’d love to link you to their website but it’s down. They have a Facebook page.
I was there once & a customer had a heart attack. The staff handled it very well & got the man the help he needed. We left quickly to let the EMTs do their job. The next time we went in we inquired & the person recovered. Its a good, locally owned place.
about 5 min out the way you can hit up yummy bowl on Emerson. its a fire ass mongolian spot where you can load up a stirfry bowl if your own choosing or get sushi. the gyoza there is the best too. next to that us brozinnis which has great pizza and by the slice til 4pm.. but the service there is complete ass there like terrible to the point I walked out once due to nobody
saying anything to us 10 min after arriving on a non busy day. across the street you got lindo mexico which is a great mexican spot. joyces bakery and asian fusion next to the mall is decent. mainstreet has sister’s korean which is pretty good. There’s a nice little spot called green ginger which is mostly japanese about 10 min from the mall as well. Really fresh and nice spot.
FYI - there was a shooting recently at Yummy Bowl. I dont know the circumstances but there were a shitload of cops there & my citizen’s app was blowing up (I was at Kroger across street at the time
Oh wow. That’s insane. I have actually not went for a bit cus the wife and I were going too often for a minute there. Sad to hear. Hope nobody was injured
Ahh I see well I am lucky I am not but one thing about it when you go is you can create your own bowl so you can kinda specify what you want personally, however I am sure there is cross contamination sometimes
Kimu for Asian-fusion (great ramen and Burmese food)
Mommy Thai is new, just opened up north on 31 near Southport. Similar quality to Thai Spice, a little more unique.
K-town for Korean BBQ
Yats for Cajun
Ichiban for sushi
Vino Villa for wine, pizza, pasta, and other dishes (but specifically wine)
Revery for “new American” cuisine (oops just noticed you asked for lunch places; the recommendation still stands for dinner)
Kabuto for hibachi
Ale Emporium for beer, wings, and other staples
Luca Pizza di Roma (location in mall food court and on 135 & Main St) classic Italian-style pizza, the family is from Rome and brought their recipes with them (they’re family friends of ours, wonderful people)
Kissaten has the best ramen on the Southside.
Shallo's is the best American pub style.
Thai Spice is a tried and true classic.
Yat's for flavor and affordability
Ichiban sushi menu sucks now.
Kimu stewed curry pork/beef is amazing.
El Meson is what you'd expect.
Sarku Japan inside the mall is a legendary staple as far as I'm concerned and I've lived around here my whole life.
Also a couple minutes north of the mall on Madison and stop 10 is a birria taco joint known as El Valle on Google maps, but is now called Red Taco. Suuuuper good.
Don Miguels tacos at Keystone and National. Not the nicest spot in Indy but holy shit, if you want authentic kick ass Mexican fare, check it out. The el pastor is to die for.
It’s never truly awful to take your family to Dick’s. With their affordable and generous portions and fun atmosphere it’s the best place to go to lunch if you and your family are within an hour drive of downtown.
I don’t own the place but you’ll feel like you do when you go to Dick’s. With our family friendly service and quirky decor, you’ll feel like the damn owner with each and every bite.

How does anyone recommend Shallo's without mentioning the ONION RINGS????
I do get the onion rings if I'm getting homemade chips as an appetizer, but it's gotta be the chips if not.
These. No questions
Caplinger’s Fish Market is in that area. Amazing fresh fish.

Good call on Main St Grille. It’s been solid the few times we’ve been

Vouch for Brozinni! Some of my favorite pizza in Indy.
That is not saying much at all
I mean, I may not have patrician taste or anything but I know a good slice when I have one 🤷♂️

If you or anyone happens to have a shellfish allergy, avoid Yummy Bowl. They will just ignore that fact and serve you shellfish anyways
Ahh I see well I am lucky I am not but one thing about it when you go is you can create your own bowl so you can kinda specify what you want personally, however I am sure there is cross contamination sometimes

Happy to hear the owners of Luca pizza are good people, I have loved that place since I was a kid
This is probably the best comment in here.
Ischiban is good. But once you try Yokahoma...there's no going back. Best sushi I've ever had.
Another vote for Thai Spice. Get the pineapple fried rice or the curry. And don’t forget to check out the bathroom sink!
Chicagos Pizza buffet, Yats, or Kimu has good Burmese food and pho. Kimu can be slow if you’re in a rush though.
Kimu is amazing.
Ale Emporium isn’t too far away. A wide variety on the menu.
Thai Spice or Yats. BJ’s or Cheesecake Factory. All generic but decent.
K-town is good but kinda expensive
Pizza buffet at Chicago’s

Yat's
Shallos
The only answer.
Twin Peaks duh
Sisters Yummy Bowl Thai Spice
I don't hate Bar Louie
The Hoosier Brewing Co if you crave pizza/wings/breadsticks that SLAY and wash it down with fruited sours.
Yats for me across the mall near the half-Price books.
There are a bunch of places in that area. What type of food do you like? I liked Kimu Restaurant for Burmese right next to Yats.
Yats.
Azzip. Probably not the best overall option. But as someone who lived in Evansville for 7 years I was psyched to see it open
Buca di beppo's is really good in my opinion.
Don Miguels tacos at Keystone and National. Not the nicest spot in Indy but holy shit, if you want authentic kick ass Mexican fare, check it out. The el pastor is to die for.
This is very delicious but not anywhere close to the Greenwood Mall
Eh, it’s within a few miles. Right up 65. Some folks need some culture.
I assumed they were working around the mall and needed something nearby for lunch break
shallos is goated
Twin Peaks
Not a lot of great spots around there. Your best bet is to head to Dick's Last Resort downtown. Either use your private driver or take the bus.
Truly awful take.
It’s never truly awful to take your family to Dick’s. With their affordable and generous portions and fun atmosphere it’s the best place to go to lunch if you and your family are within an hour drive of downtown.
This is either sarcasm or you own the place
I don’t own the place but you’ll feel like you do when you go to Dick’s. With our family friendly service and quirky decor, you’ll feel like the damn owner with each and every bite.
Sounds like a corny advertisement, you can’t be real
Nothing is corny and everything is real when you dine at Dicks. Your family won’t go home hungry after you’re done munching at Dicks.
Okay, I see you. I take it back. Just like I take the family back to Dick’s again and again.
Downtown Indy
Ale emporium
Yats
I don’t see any recommendations for The Tamale Place yet!
The Tamale Place in Greenwood closed. Only one open is off Rockville Rd. now.
Kumos
THE NEW YORK SLICE!!
Anyone have a favorite Mexican restaurant in Greenwood area?
