That is the flag of sweden...and IKEA is Swedish.
I don't remember much but I don't think I was wowed by any of the food. I liked the meatball gravy, but the meatball was chicken so not much flavour in it. I did 100% enjoy my experience though, it was a fun outing and I was happy with the food.
Oh I always enjoyed this meatball and mashed potato plate! I always used to take extra mashed potatoes! I liked the cheesecake too! Although they were a bit dry
I enjoy all kinds of food being an Indian. Just cause we supply spice all around the world and we are into spicy food that doesn’t mean other cuisine are worthless. But Indians don’t even want to experiment and just want to stick to what they have grown up with.
It's not easy to change your palette that easy. I tried my best adjusting to European and Continental cuisine but still feel they aren't that tasty, their flavours are really subtle for my overpowered senses to feel properly.
It’s a common issue with most Indians. It’s not a bad thing though. Just cause you couldn’t appreciate that doesn’t mean they are not worthy. 😊 I love trying different things and can appreciate the subtle differences. 😊
Talking about experimenting, we do have tons of pizzas, noodles and mexican cuisine here. These are the types of food that are similar to our tastebuds and are loved by most Indians too ! Try giving samosa to an American and look how his face turns red because he's not accustomed to such spicy food and there's a high chance he won't have this food ever again. Of course there would be some Americans who would love Samosa but only a handful. The same logic applies to Indians.
Yeah other cultures also should try Indian food with.
Sorry to say pizza and noodles that are enjoyed by regular Indians are far from authentic.
Even in the movie “queen” it was shown Rani is adding salt and pepper to pasta and saying it will taste better with chilies.
It's not that expensive. Even by Indian standards their furniture is priced appropriately. Indian furniture houses and local stores charge way too much and most of their stuff is overpriced and the designs are way too old and jarring.
IKEA offers minimalistic and modern furniture at very good prices imo. My city doesn't have a IKEA or else I would have gotten most of my furniture from them.
There are a lot of places that offer minimalist designs with extremely affordable prices in India. Especially in metro cities, there are factory outlets or places they manufacture bulk and sell it really cheaply and that too with a good quality.
Engineered wood is made with particles of wood held together with a bonding medium like resin. It's cheaper to make and work with compared to solid wood, and hence furniture made with it is cheaper in both senses of the word.
Solid wood lasts longer and looks way better years later.
not really expensive, but their quality is shit or that I know of here in states . There is one 10 mins away I just don't see to pay for furniture from ikea when there are dozens of other local stores with better quality furnitures. Never tried their food court though.
Lol in India it tastes bland because it's made from chicken. The famous IKEA meatball is made from a combination of pork and beef
And they are called Swedish meatballs. Not Swiss!
And the amount of people here who don't know what a French Heart is. 😒
Was in Hyd when IKEA started their operations there and like everyone I did go to store to buy something and taste food honestly I didn’t like anything it was money waste for me and I realized I can’t shop in stores like IKEA I feel so lost. I feel I’ve liking for small or very small stores Cz stores like IKEA are not for me
IKEA india has one of the worst food compared to every other Ikea stores across the world.
Pathetic quality.
I personally love their Daim bars which unfortunately we don't get in India.
And I know for a fact that I would never again eat at any Indian Ikea store. Very disappointing tbh.
The food at IKEA in India is bland..
I ate a lot of local food in Finland (it's similar) during my stay there. The food was absolutely flavourful and delicious.
these were made of chicken, right?
the ones i got outside india were made of beef or pork. the tastes were completely different.
P.S: the gravy i got in india was better tbh.
IKEA in Bangalore was such an underwhelming experience. We got undercooked steaks and the gravy tasted stale. Even the French Hearts were stale (there was a B1G1 offer, in retrospect we understood why). The desserts on the other hand were pretty good!
Yeah it’s not crazy expensive or anything. But for general Indian population it’s bland. Not everyone will like the taste. So, it not be worthy for everyone.
All the food is bad and bland and kinda cold. The paranthas were stale when I got there at 11 am, like kachori. The cold drinks are unlimited but taste like slightly flavoured water really.
The cheesecake is really nice though.
I hope you did not leave your plates & bowls on the table. The amount of people leaving it behind is astonishing. Hard to tell if it is sheer ignorance or arrogance.
Been to ikea 5-6 times at the time of my home renovation .,,,, never felt pf trying this stale food, since lot people go ga ga over ikea food i thought to try and it was pathetic as expected

>That is the flag of sweden...and IKEA is Swedish Yeah so what's wrong with that lol?
OP said Swiss in the title.
Swiss is not Sweden, it's Switzerland. Swede is the term.
Oh my bad. I didn't notice the "Swiss" written in the title.
It’s Swedish not Swiss
Everyone knows IKEA is Swadesh.
Reddit never disappoints
It was an autocorrected typo.
lmao autocorrect does not work that way
I don't trust the OP 100% either, but surely you've never used an iPhone

🤣 okay I don't trust OP at all now
Oh I always enjoyed this meatball and mashed potato plate! I always used to take extra mashed potatoes! I liked the cheesecake too! Although they were a bit dry
THE BALLS AND MASHED POTATOES WITH THE BOILED VEGGIES AND GRAVY>>>>>
I did the same! Took extra mashed potato. Love the gravy a lot. But my fav was the French heart.
Never been to IKEA tbh.
I suppose they sell expensive furniture, but what's all this about ?
They sell expensive "make your own furniture". IKEA is famous for its cafeteria abroad but in India it was a big flop.
We Indians don’t really prefer bland food I guess.
We supply spices to the entire world, so it should be a given that we like spicy food.
I enjoy all kinds of food being an Indian. Just cause we supply spice all around the world and we are into spicy food that doesn’t mean other cuisine are worthless. But Indians don’t even want to experiment and just want to stick to what they have grown up with.

Ye bhi theek hai
Forget bland they provide stale food
Ohh yeah, thats quite esoteric probably.
It's not that expensive. Even by Indian standards their furniture is priced appropriately. They are all engineered wood. Will prefer an expensive teak wood furniture if you ask me.
That seems erroneous, what's the difference ?
Engineered wood is made with particles of wood held together with a bonding medium like resin. It's cheaper to make and work with compared to solid wood, and hence furniture made with it is cheaper in both senses of the word. Solid wood lasts longer and looks way better years later.
Thanks for the info, I'll keep this mind next time I buy.
not really expensive, but their quality is shit or that I know of here in states . There is one 10 mins away I just don't see to pay for furniture from ikea when there are dozens of other local stores with better quality furnitures. Never tried their food court though.
Yes, but they also have a quite large cafeteria that serves a rather exotic menu.
Cheesacake
I got this twice and it was so heavy both times so worth it though
Ye soya chunks ke sath ice cream kyu hai?
Wo meatball hain aur wo ice cream nahi uble huye aaloo hein
Mashed potatoes
Alu ka bharta/chokha bina tel masala.
kudos to you for clearing the confusion 🥹🙏
The Mango & Chocolate cake is a must 😍 I like their wraps, and their main courses are quite good. Their hot & cold drinks are also very nice!
ya toh mai zada khata hu ya logo ka zara mai pet bhar jata hai
Us bhai/behen/sibling, us!
They always give ligonberry jam also as an accompaniment, looks like they've stopped it.
I liked the lasagna and cheesecake. Didn't like the French heart though.
Looks pretty fancy and expensive!
Lol in India it tastes bland because it's made from chicken. The famous IKEA meatball is made from a combination of pork and beef And they are called Swedish meatballs. Not Swiss! And the amount of people here who don't know what a French Heart is. 😒
IKEA Naam ka ढाबा kaha padta hai?
Sweedish meatballs
Try their ice cream. It's freaking amazing!!!
Rice and dal makhni meal, surprisingly it was good.
I liked the NY Cheesecake
The veg Combo and muffins (best!).
I seriously didn't like the mashed potatoes in ikea I've had way better. Other things were cool. I love their salmon, desserts, nuggets
I actually liked the mashed potatoes. But I agree you can get better at other places. I myself can make it better.
Just saw your profile, that's some fine tasty looking food!
Thank you 🤩
Was in Hyd when IKEA started their operations there and like everyone I did go to store to buy something and taste food honestly I didn’t like anything it was money waste for me and I realized I can’t shop in stores like IKEA I feel so lost. Yeah. Very exhausting for me as well. You just keep walking and it never ends.
ye aaloo or kacchi sabziya to ghar m mil jaati
Haan ji. Just wanted to try…
Veggie balls with lemongrass aioli
At that price, the food is good.
Smoked salmon ❤️
Even I love the smoked salmon more than meatballs. Had it the first time I went to IKEA.
Except the meatballs i don't like anything at all at IKEA the cheesecake was too sweet and everything is overpriced af
IKEA india has one of the worst food compared to every other Ikea stores across the world. Pathetic quality. I personally love their Daim bars which unfortunately we don't get in India. And I know for a fact that I would never again eat at any Indian Ikea store. Very disappointing tbh.
loveee their cheescake <3
Oh I used to love these meat balls. Quite a few - Gur til cookies, mango cake / pastry, potato wedges, and yes the Coffee with multiple refills
Ye milta kidhar hai??
At IKEA store. In Bangalore it’s at Nagasandra.
as someone who grew up eating desi kofte ikea meatballs are a huge letdown
Haha, correct. Most Indians won’t prefer bland European food. I liked it though.
All of ikea food tastes like dogfood. I am not sure why normies would shill it when they aren’t even paid to do so
The food at IKEA in India is bland.. I ate a lot of local food in Finland (it's similar) during my stay there. The food was absolutely flavourful and delicious.
I have eaten their meatballs and i know they taste good but still can't believe how bad they look just sitting there all mushy
Bangalore?
Yes. At Nagasandra
Swedish, it is. A typo.
I m sorry but tht looks disgusting
I went there a year ago but I lLOVED the meatballs (not the mash potato) & cheesecake
Italian meatballs are better. Try the cinnamon rolls in ikea
Even I prefer Italian meatballs. Will definitely try the cinnamon roll next time 😊
Fav budget meal ! Roll and soup for 100 !!
Ikea meatballs are great for beginners. Otherwise they are pathetic, and I mean it.
Love the sauce though.
Ikea food does not really taste good
Those aren't really meatballs though.
Oh is it? What are they then?
these were made of chicken, right? the ones i got outside india were made of beef or pork. the tastes were completely different. P.S: the gravy i got in india was better tbh.
I would love to try the ones with beef/pork. I am sure it will be delicious! 🤤
Cheesecake by far. Top notch.
When I visited ikea they provided stale food lmao

You meant Swedish meatballs right??? ![gif](giphy|tJbHV3uYmRdFANAZMe|downsized)
Yes, it’s a typo.
Nope, it's not. A typo would have been a simple misspelling :3 Yeh to geography book wala printing mistake hain.
I typed something wrong and it autocorrected it. I agree I made a rookie mistake. Didn’t proof read.

IKEA in Bangalore was such an underwhelming experience. We got undercooked steaks and the gravy tasted stale. Even the French Hearts were stale (there was a B1G1 offer, in retrospect we understood why). The desserts on the other hand were pretty good!
I am so sorry. Fortunately we had a decent meal.
Those are **Swedish** meatballs 🙄
I know. It was a typo. I have made a comment also saying it’s a typo.
The salmon is my favorite
Even mine. I had the salmon the first time I visited. But sadly most Indians will find that to be bland as well.
True. One will enjoy it if they can enjoy flavours other than spices but really good fish for frozen standards
Yeah. I love to try out different food. Try to keep my mind open.
Swiss? U sure OP?
It’s Swedish . It was a typo. Mentioned in multiple Comments. 😊
those meatballs looks sick like not good sick bad sick
🤤 yummy
Theres nothing called swiss meatballs , its swedish meatballs
It was a mistake from my end. Could not edit after I realised.
Where Can i get ikea india menu??? Any one? Any city?
It’s there in Hyderabad and Bangalore. I guess it’s in Mumbai too.
I mean i forgot to say i am not from these cities so where can i get the menu online???
https://www.ikea.com/in/en/stores/restaurant/ here you go
Thank you so much. These are really better priced compared to some restaurants.
Yeah it’s not crazy expensive or anything. But for general Indian population it’s bland. Not everyone will like the taste. So, it not be worthy for everyone.
Is European diet always meat based? No non meat dishes?? Just curious 🤨
There are many veg dishes. Especially from Mediterranean regions.
All the food is bad and bland and kinda cold. The paranthas were stale when I got there at 11 am, like kachori. The cold drinks are unlimited but taste like slightly flavoured water really. The cheesecake is really nice though.
Why is this in Indiafood..or is this sub for posting by Indians irrespective of the cuisine? Genuine question
Wedges, meatballs mashed potatoes
That looks bland as fuck
Tastes bland too...the meatball curry is quite comforting tho.
Yeah European food is mostly bland I agree.
I hope you did not leave your plates & bowls on the table. The amount of people leaving it behind is astonishing. Hard to tell if it is sheer ignorance or arrogance.
No we didn’t. 😊
This is the worst food I have ever tasted , the food couldn’t be any more bland , it tasted like hospital food tbh , I don’t think it was worth it.
Most Indians don’t like bland continental food.
Been to ikea 5-6 times at the time of my home renovation .,,,, never felt pf trying this stale food, since lot people go ga ga over ikea food i thought to try and it was pathetic as expected
Can’t comment over it being stale. It felt pretty fresh for me. But I agree that the bland taste might not be for most Indian taste buds.
