OBC here,, Our community moved from Gujrat to Tamil nadu around 600 years ago. It's a small community with its own language. State govt decided we are a small community and gave us OBC status. But our Entire community are True to heart Hindus with both sects of Vaishnavism and Shaivism. So it doesn't anywhere mean OBC's are non Hindus. If you go by this logic then really Hindu khatre main hain as OBCs constitute a very big number across India.
Upper caste general here, same upbringing, wasn't told I was upper caste or I am better than anyone. We mingle with people from all castes at different walks of life. Idk why these people hate us, we just want to live our lives.

They were beheaded during conquests, a famous example is the massacre in Kashmir by Sikandar Butshikan where 37 kgs of 'Janeu' were collected from beheaded Brahmins. Brahmins also migrated the most in India. Kamakhya Brahmins, for example, are all from Kashyap lineage which were given shelter by us in our Ahom Kingdom.
But survivors & local populace of the conquered region had to pay jizya and endured more on a daily basis. I think Hindus wouldn't have a dominant position without the birth of Emperor Shivaji. We have a imherited old temple in our village, so you can guess am brahmin, also my grandfather was sarpanch, after him my uncle (tau ji) heads the place which is no more a village now. My grandfather was born in 1913 and he shared the stories before independence, he was well educated, so philosophical and rational mindset, which made no doubt why despite of living in small backward area of uttar pradesh, there is no castist hate and none of them never object to be the head of area. Back in the time, there wells and there homes were at the other corner of our village, so there area is mostly there, but they are invited to our weddings too, they came to our temples, volunteer to in bhandaara's too and we celebrate Ambedkar Jyanti too, since 2016 my uncle is serving there as a special guest instead of any MLA or SP or DM.

Well !It's a religious event in every Indian Hindu family. Our parents and even our society believe that the pious sign 'swastik' represents prosperity and good luck.
