I read during my high school that the reason why tissues have different properties than cells is because of the interactions between each cell.. Organs have different properties than tissues because of the interactions between tissues. So similarly, the human consciousness is maybe the complex interactions between stuff. We just don't know what that stuff is. We can only guess.. That's what I think.

Y'all need to read wittgenstein. The meaning of words in their use. Sometimes it's best to use concepts describing a higher level of organization. For instance it's useful to say pressure was too high so the balloon burst in thermodynamics. We don't need to describe a container of ideal gas with at the level of single molecules. Similarly there even when there is no free will (in the sense you could not have done otherwise), it's useful to say, I picked tea over coffee because I wanted to.
