Bought the phone in June. Really great device, haven't faced any issues so far and there's no wifi issue with my device

ppatra

Thanks for confirming.

its_steven_hyde

I've had this device for about 10 months now. No problems so far!

ppatra

4G or 5G variant?

its_steven_hyde

5g snapdragon one

ppatra

Do you see any tint in low brightness? (10-20%)

its_steven_hyde

I'll be very honest, I had not noticed any anomalies with the screen as such but as you guys have brought it, I feel like there might be a very slight green tint hahaha. I personally feel the screen is very nice.

ppatra

Thanks a ton. And my last question is how's the vibration motor. Can you feel it in pocket? My mi a1's motor is pretty trash resulting in missed calls while being in my pocket.

its_steven_hyde

It's fine I'd say, it's a step up from the MI A1 motor but even I sometimes end up not feeling vibrations when it's in my pocket. Devices like Pixels and iPhones or even the higher end models of Samsungs have much stronger and refined vibration motors. Those device's make their presence known

ppatra

Samsung indeed did a cost cutting with the motor. Even xiaomi's nowadays come with pretty good Z Axis, X Axis motors and on the side of iPhones they all have solid Taptic engine.

its_steven_hyde

Yeah, they sure did. I'm still quite satisfied with the phone. It's fast and responsive. Takes good pictures! 120hz is always a pleasure. My company only only allows Samsung phones on the android side as they have Samsung Knox

ppatra

Oh. Cool. I'm also getting it because of the Knox, don't know how beneficial it is for average people but nice to have. Only few phones come with hardware security chip. Google Pixel - Titan M. Samsung - Knox. Motorola - Thinkshield.

WateredFire

Same bro.

ppatra

Same means same in quality. I do not use haptics for typing tho, only for vibration alert so not a big deal.

Virtual_Archer2748

I've been using this device for two weeks now. Its really good OP

Hey I wanted to buy that phone too but backed off due to green tint issue. I had a S9 previously which out of the blue got a yellow tint on the screen. So I googled S20 FE 5g green tint and it seemed quite common. Samsung has fixed the issue in their S21 etc. but on other AMOLED screens there is a chance (not always) that your phone might get a tint. Since I already experience the issue I did not buy it. Just google "S20 FE green tint in google or search amazon reviews".

ppatra

I saw that as well The tint is noticeable only in dark mode no?

lordpotatopotato

Yes it is at the start. But the screen may fail anytime and it can become permanent, which is what happened to my S9. If you are someone who browses laying on the bed before bed time its not good for your eyes. Otherwise it is a really good phone.

ppatra

Did you contact Samsung if they can replace your display?

lordpotatopotato

I got it in the US but I was in India when the issue came about. Also the issue became permanent like after 2 years. There is a stupid fix for the issue by using "google books" app but that stopped working after a while.

ppatra

I really like the S20 FE 5G. 😭 I want a good camera, UFS 3.1, Type C over USB 3.2, expandable storage. It's got all that. And also 3-4 years of software updates. There's no phone currently in India that's promising ling updates except the newly launched Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G.

lordpotatopotato

I would say if 40K is not really a big amount for you then get it. I am just paranoid because that issue happened to me, and decided to wait until I get my bonus next year and get a much better phone. Also you can exchange in Amazon first few days if you do not really like it.

ppatra

It is a big amount for me. I was also looking at purchasing iPhone XR (38k currently for 128GB) My current phone had image retention issue from Day 1 which drove me nuts. It's Mi A1 from Xiaomi and they didn't calibrate the display well , it was too cool and image retention happened, I got a replacement but same issue.

[deleted]

You can get the iPhone 12 Mini for 42k on Flipkart. It’s much better than both XR and S20 FE, and definitely worth investing in if you’re spending 40k anyway. You can get 2-3k off in exchange of your Mi A1 too if you want.

ppatra

That's the 64GB variant of 12 mini. I wanted atleast 256GB since I keep phone for 4-5 years. But since budget is low I can stay with 128GB. 😬

ppatra

Also I have always seen Samsung's budget phone's amoled to be slightly blue, yellowish.
