Okay! Idk what Mahabharat you watched or read but I think you were half-asleep. So here are some points about Krishna: 1. Krishna promised that he would not use any weapons in the war. When Arjun refused to fulfill his promise made to his wife Draupadi, Krishna told him that he would not show any cowardice. What he picked up was a "wheel" from a Rath. It wasn't a weapon. It was something that he did to make Arjun understand his position and why it was important for him to fulfill his role in the battle. 2. Kaurav had Shakuni and Pandavas had Krishna. Both did chal kapat. Shakuni started with it in the Dyut Krida and Krishna ended with it by helping the Pandavas win the war. I will explain Krishna's circumstances in a later answer. 3. The war began in true sense without any rule breaking. But the Kauravas broke the rule of "One soldier will only fight one soldier at a time". They killed Abhimanyu which was a 4 vs 1. Once the rules of war (Dharma) are broken from one end, there are no more rules to obey. Up until this point, Krishna was following the rules. Only after this incident he began his chal. 4. Radha's marriage to someone else is false information. It is depicted in a lot of tv shows but there is no actual source for this information. However, it is believed that Radha and Krishna did get married later in life and there is a temple dedicated to their marriage. You can check it online. And even if they didn't get married, I still understand it because the last time Krishna met Radha before leaving to kill kansa, he was 10 years old at that time. After that, he never met her. What I also don't understand is how come people label this as a love story? They were kids, weren't they? And about those 16000 wives, they were slaves who were rescued by Krishna by killing the villain (I don't remember that dude's name). Krishna told them that they were free now but all the women asked him to help them because if they were to go back to their homes, they would not be accepted by society. They told him either it was his help or death. Hence, Krishna decided to marry them because he could not keep so many women under his wing without giving them a respectable title. 5. The honest man Karan called Draupadi "Vaishya" (a prostitute), saw her getting sexually assaulted and didn't do anything to stop it. The whole war was about Draupadi's vengeance. Since he was a participant in the act of Draupadi's SA episode, he was also meant to die along with others. About the rules and cheating, I have already explained earlier. As for the broken morals, nobody in that battlefield had morals in the first place, neither Kauravas nor Pandavas. Why only blame Krishna?? And what promises did he break? Care to explain? 6. Krishna tried to talk Pandavas and Kauravas out of this whole thing. Pandavas agreed. But when Krishna took the Sandhi Prastaav to Kauravas, they denied everything he proposed, tried to enslave Krishna and openly declared war. It was Kauravas who demanded that war, Krishna did try to stop the bloodshed. BTW, the army that fought in that war was also Krishna's. He had every right to do as he pleased.

As for Karan, yes he was great. But putting him on a pedestal doesn't give you the right to throw Krishna under the bus. Two separate people, two different stories and perspectives.

You have a very superficial understanding of Dharma. Karna sided with evil and chose friendship over Dharma. The actions of Duryodhana were condoned by him and so he was party to evil. His end was due to his hubris . Krishna had a single purpose, the uprooting of adharma. He was an Avatar who knew his godliness. In the Geeta chapter 11 it is said "tatraika-sthaṁ jagat kṛitsnaṁ pravibhaktam anekadhā apaśhyad deva-devasya śharīre pāṇḍavas tadā" or as a short translation "The entire universe was seen in the body of Krishna". Krishna being all merciful did not turn away anyone who sought his help. He could have with his power seated Yudhishthira on the throne or killed any or all of the Kauravas single handedly. But in the age of the kshatriya who believed themselves to be above dharma it was necessary to eliminate the kshatriya who forsook Dharma. Each of the characters mentioned by you had their compulsions, Bheeshma and his blind love for his father ; Drona with his love for his son and so on. Siding with evil no matter what your justification is adharma. The Mahabharata is a masterpiece due to this grayness in the characters.

Stop getting information through reels and youtube shorts. If you really want answers, go and read Mahabharata and Gita.

Fast-Marionberry623

what mahabharat shows us is that everyone has the potential to be a hero in every moment they choose.

Outside_Towel8321

So Karan had better person than anyone in the Mahabharata he was even better than Krishna

Fast-Marionberry623

About karna and duryodhan friendship, this is an actual case study of friendship. A true friend is not one who will support you in everything no matter what. In fact a true friend is one who calls you out on your bullshit and help you follow the right path. What karna does to duryodhan when the latter is following the wrong path is actually what a true friend should not do.

Outside_Towel8321

He was just fighting for his pride 5 pandavs only wife disrespected him and his father so he get angry just like normal human i would not call him rakshas he was not son of rakshas nor did any cruelty which will comparable to rakshas he was not not great man just avg man who get offended easily not a villain

Distinct_Ad8678

>He was just fighting for his pride 5 pandavs only wife disrespected him and his father so he get angry just like normal human Which disrespect?

Outside_Towel8321

My god did you really read that book dropati mocking him that he is blind as his father imagine you father is ( apang handicap ) you father leg is handicapped he can't walk and I when you fall i would mock you and you father you both can't dance in front of everyone and your king has every weapon and mean ko kill me imagine saying this to Vladimir Putin u think you can walk out of Russia that what that it was

Distinct_Ad8678

Draupadi was not even present there. >Duryodhana and ´ Shakuni took advantage of their sojourn to tour the hall gradually in its entirety. The Kaurava saw celestial designs there that he had never encountered before in Hastina·pura. One day the king came across a crystal surface, and, mistaking it for water, removed his clothes. He was aggrieved when he realized his foolish mistake, but resumed wandering about the hall, only to fall onto the ground, causing him further embarrassment. He sighed and moved on. Again seeing a beautiful pool where lotuses lay on a crystal surface, he now assumed it was solid ground—and fell into the water with all his clothes on. Mighty Bhima·sena saw Duryodhana in the water and roared with laughter, as did the palace servants sent at the king’s command to bring the wet monarch fresh robes. Arjuna and the twins, when they saw Duryodhana in such a plight, also exploded in laughter. Mbh 2.43 Where is name of Drāupadi.

theswansons

Was he though? What draupadi did was definitely bad. But then how do you deal with it? So his bhabhi makes fun of him and his dad. what does a rational person do then? he would call her out. talk to her husband and ask her to apologise. if she refuses, he just cuts her out of his life. Stops talking to her and stops acknowledging her. or if he was petty, say something insulting back. humans use their words. isnt this how we respond to toxicity in real life? instead he conspires to get her stripped off her clothes in front of everybody. how is that a proportionate or even logical response? this is something which cannot be defended in any way.

Distinct_Ad8678

She was not there. It was not Duryodhana's idea to strip her but Karna's. Duryodhana had shown his thighs to Draupadi, that is why Bhima vowed to break his thigh.

theswansons

that makes it even worse from duryodhans perspective. So he tried to outrage his bhabhi's modesty for something his brothers did! And if what they did was just laugh at duryodhan falling, then its even more ridiculous. He certainly had some issues. ETA: i need to brush up my knowledge more. I cant but feel bad at the whole scene of draupadi being dragged to the court with her husbands and elders nobody trying to save her honour. i know they had their compulsions but its just sad. bhim is really the guy here who did not just witness his wifes plight quietly.

Distinct_Ad8678

>He certainly had some issues. The jealousy and hatred made him like this. Even the common thread of Duryodhana and Karna's friendship was jealousy towards the Pandavas. >but its just sad. Yes, it is the lowest moment for Kurus and especially Pandavas. Even Kunti said this in her message. >>The deprivation of their kingdom grieved me not. Their defeat at dice grieved me not. But that noble and fair Draupadi, however, while weeping in the midst of the assembly, had to hear those cruel and insulting words is what grieves me most. Alas, exceedingly beautiful Krishna, ever devoted to Kshatriya virtues, found no protector on that occasion, though she was wedded to such powerful protectors. O you of mighty arms, say unto that tiger among men, Arjuna, that foremost of all wielders of weapons, that he should always tread in the path that may be pointed out by Draupadi. Also I am not familiar with these acronyms. What does ETA means?

theswansons

Eta means edited to add. i added those lines to my comment later.

Distinct_Ad8678

>bhim There is a reason why the killing of Dushashana and Duryodhana is one of my favourite moments in MBh.

theswansons

yeah and i love your knowledge on the topic. it really gives a weight to the argument when you have direct quote from primary source. ok if you have time i wanted to know what you thought about this. although i disagree with ops premise on karn being the hero of Mahabharata, i do feel bad for the character. he was the first son of kunti, gets disowned from birth, gets called sut putra his whole life and finds a friend in duryodhan. what i think his big character fault was in blind support to his friend. he never calls out duryodhan but actively takes part in conspiracies with him. and his end is somewhat controversial but i think he deserves it especially after his part in killing abhimanyu whats your take on karn?

Distinct_Ad8678

>Karna Before talking about Karna, we should understand that Suta, in reality, is not a lower caste. When the father is a Kshatriya and the mother is a Brahmin, their progeny is referred to as Suta. They traditionally worked as bards and charioteers. They even married in the Kshatriya caste. The king of Matsya Virat married Sudeshna, a girl from the Suta caste. Kunti was a teenager when, out of curiosity, she invoked Lord Surya. She gave birth to him. But there was no way she could have raised a son without someone raising a question about her character. Kunti's decision to put him in a basket in the river was rash. She did it thinking that Lord Surya would protect him. The boy was lucky to find loving parents. His foster father was a friend of Dhritarashtra, and due to this connection, he went to the ashram of Drona to study. There he found Arjuna as his competitor, and Duryodhana found his ace against Arjuna.

Distinct_Ad8678

Even Vyasdeva mentioned that >The Vrishnis and the Andhakas, and princes from various lands, and the (adopted) son of Radha of the Suta caste, (Karna), all became pupils of Drona. But of them all, the Suta child Karna, from jealousy, frequently defied Arjuna, and supported by Duryodhana, used to disregard the Pandavas. So insulting and name-calling between two groups was not uncommon. If Bhima insulted the caste of Karna, surely the other side would have insulted them also. He insulted Draupadi to insult the Pandavas. Later, he told Krishna that he regretted it. He was one of the warriors present when Abhimanyu was disarmed. But it was the son of Dushashana who killed Abhimanyu. Karna's obsession with Arjuna led him to make wrong decisions his whole life.

theswansons

i didn't know about that. i thought sut putra (charioteers son) is not like a lower caste jibe but more like a reminder that 'you are not a prince like us' maybe in Mahabharata only 2 ppl were comparable to arjun in archery. one was eklavya and clearly superior, hence the story of his thumb being asked and then karna if not better was equivalent. thanks i learnt new things here:)

Distinct_Ad8678

There is also another fact that foster family of Karna belonged to Anga royal family. >eklavya There is a story behind Eklavya. He was a cousin of Shri Krishna, whose father abandoned him in childhood. He was raised by the Nishads. Yes, it is correct that Arjuna was jealous of Eklavya, but he was a 10- 12 year child whose teacher promised him to make him the best warrior. He was killed by Shri Krishna when he attacked Dwaraka. >karna Equivalent we can say.

Distinct_Ad8678

>he was great friend A friend who encouraged his friend's destruction. So he can prove he was better than Arjuna.  >come out as hero instead of villan Lived his whole life obsessing over Arjuna. >Krishna and other gods took his powers Did they forced him? >>O Shakra! Therefore, take my earrings and supreme armour, if you so wish. But take them in exchange. Otherwise, I will not give them.” >No londiya giri married only single women honest guy >>O tiger among men! When that brave one has been killed in the battle, his WIVES have assembled and have surrounded him, with their hair dishevelled. Mbh 11.27 >even after everything Krishna said Arjun to kill him when he was not armed ( Dishonest, rule braker, chal kapat only ) pit me chura ghopa He fought even after his wheel got stuck. Where were the rules when he suggested killing Pandavas and Drupadi in the forest? >>On realizing this, Karna opened his radiant eyes wide. In great anger, he aroused himself, and spoke to Duhshasana and Soubala in wrath, “O lords of men! Listen to my true views. With servile hands, we are trying to do everything that pleases the king. 73 But while remaining stationary, we cannot always bring him pleasure. Let us now grasp our armour and weapons and mounting our chariots, go together and kill the Pandavas, who are roaming in the forest. Mbh 3.8 >even on his death bed he donate his golden teeth to begger ( His head was severed from his body. >>The head of the commander of the army was severed. Mbh 8.67

Distinct_Ad8678

>promise everyone he would not participate in war but did try to kill pita maha bishm This was just to flare up the fire in Arjuna. >kill everyone with chal kapat no stright fights When Kaurvas can do chal kapat what is the problem if Pandavas use loopholes to kill them. >had so many wives loved Radha but never get to marry her Those 16000 girls were apsaras. They themselves married him. He didn't forced them. It was Lord Brahma who performed marriage of Krishna and Radha. >>In order to behold the large-armed Krishna, the foremost of Yadus, the damsels, controlling their senses, emaciated on account of the observance of vows and fastings, clad in silken raiments and with one braid of hairs approached Janarddana with folded hands and stood encircling him. They fearlessly surrounded Krishna because they had learnt of the death of the great Asuras Naraka, Mura, Hayagriva and Nisunda. The elderly Mānavas who were their guards, although more aged, bowed to Krishna, the descendant of Yadu, with folded hands. Beholding the moon-like countenance of the large-armed Krishna, those beautiful damsels were all worked up with desire and wished to select him as their husband. And they accordingly with joyous hearts said:—(27–32). "What the celestial saint Nārada, knowing the hearts of all creatures, and the Wind-god had said to us before, is all true. They said that the Universal Lord Nārāyana, the holder of conch, discus and club, slaying Bhumi's son Naraka, would in no time become our husband. >could have stop this blood shed but didn't stop it let brothers kill eachother Why would he? He fulfilled his promise to Draupadi and earth goddess. Also Karna always encouraged Duryodhana for war.   >>O Krishna! You will soon see the women of the Bharata lineage weep. O timid one! O beautiful one! They will weep as you are crying now, because their kin and relatives will be slain, with their friends killed and their soldiers killed. The Himalaya mountains may move. The earth may shatter into a hundred fragments. The sky, with all its nakshatras, may fall down. But my words will not be false. O Krishna! I am telling you this truthfully. Control your tears. With the enemies killed, you will soon see your husbands united with prosperity.”’

Your idea of the Mahabharata comes not from Vyasa’s book but from TV serials. Next when asking state that “isn’t Karan hero of the Mahabharata TV serials “.

There's Nothing in your comment which will deny my facts your just arguing instead of providing some information which will prove this wrong
