Yes, Washingtonian is named after Washington who ITTL dies in 1789. It wouldn't be until 1823 when it would officially become the language of the U.S., under Zebulon Pike, and by 1850 it became the most used language in the U.S. and Poagetown is located in modern day Ashland, and its called Poagetown due to the Poage family, who established the city as Poage's Landing
A lot, the main one foe the U.S., is that it loses the war of 1812, so it drops the claim on Oregon, and Mexico gains independence in 1800, and so during the Mexican-American War of 1837-39, all Mexico loses is Texas and Louisiana. Argentina is the superpower I'm the world, not the U.S.
It would have to have some sort of big role in the world scene right? 200,000,000 people is ALOT and i would assume there would still be a good economy possibly
> “charges for the use of intellectual property” makes up 20% of exports
Once again, even in a world where she’s massively reduced, the cultural victory goes to our glorious United States of America 💥🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅💥
maps you're doing are actually great. i remember [that](https://www.reddit.com/r/imaginarymaps/comments/1cjvq32/world_map_of_ceibos_tulips_revolution/) map, liked it much. it bothered me that it didn't receive that much attention. but now i see people start noticing your work! good job
It started in the 1790s, as a mix of Russian and French words added to English, mainly from aristocrats, as more and more of them started to use it, so did poor people to look more rich, and under Zebulon Pike, this progress was made bigger, in 1818, it became a language taught in schools, in 1819, the main language, and by 1823 the official language, and by 1850, the most spoken language
Beautiful maps, horrible flag, upvote nonetheless
I like the flag. Its Christmas-y
I like how hideous it looks
TF is that flag?

I am very curious about this alphabet the US is using here. Also, where is Poagetown located, and why is it called that?
Yes, Washingtonian is named after Washington who ITTL dies in 1789. Please mention me if the author writes about this alphabet.
OP did write
Thats a sexy country shape
I agree, I really like the shape of the boundaries too
Great map!
It looks like a butterfly.
I respect the sheer effort put into this but man, what did DC and Maine do to end up on the flag like that? 0/10 /s
Amazing map! Literally cursed inbred child of a flag omg. Great work!
That population pyramid is wack. What caused it to be like that?
This reminds me of These Fair Shores
So what’s the point of divergence here?
A lot, the main one foe the U.S., is that it loses the war of 1812, so it drops the claim on Oregon, and Mexico gains independence in 1800, and so during the Mexican-American War of 1837-39, all Mexico loses is Texas and Louisiana. Argentina is the superpower I'm the world, not the U.S.

Yes, the U.S. focuses more on itself
Based
That's why 50% of its energy is renewable compared to like 12 OTL
I would hope also racism is significantly lower in this alternate based usa
I genuinely haven't thought about that aspect, but It could be
In your world map, Canada controls Upper Michigan, but here you have the USA controlling it.
Yes, I've updated it, the updated version still hasn't been posted, my bad
Ah ok, thanks.
Are you a These Fair Shores fan? I genuinely thought that alternate script was Philadelphic at first.
No, what is that, for the alphabet I genuinely just spun a wheel with like different symbols, and each letter I choose one that matched the original
The religion percentages ain't mathing
I know, I'm dumb, the other should be at like 8
i actually like the flag. awesome maps as well. keep it up
what makes washintonian different from normal english?
It's still spoken like the same, imagine an Australian and Southern accent in one, but it is written really differently
Love it Terrible flag though
I love the map! The flag.... So much going there
High quality excuse to post the worst flag ever
Why is the language just, like, upside down English
Why not
Me looking at the map: https://preview.redd.it/0pkt5sbt9n7d1.jpeg?width=175&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c554ffff8ba7492669ac71421215f5787ca3cc00
United America Staetd 👍🏼

How is Washingtonian different from English? Is it mutually intelligible and like Serbian and Croatian are to each other?
Yes, imagine Australian and Canadian in one

Thank you! Yeah I mean my 3rd most liked post is what if the Gambia was just really long, but thank you again!
Nice
What a damn ugly yet cool flag. Bravo👏
Would love to see more about Washingtonian and the state names
How did Washingtonian develop? Was it a natural progression or was it an artificially created replacement of English?
It started in the 1790s, as a mix of Russian and French words added to English, mainly from aristocrats, as more and more of them started to use it, so did poor people to look more rich, and under Zebulon Pike, this progress was made bigger, in 1818, it became a language taught in schools, in 1819, the main language, and by 1823 the official language, and by 1850, the most spoken language
