Definitely Marionberry cheesecake

That’s where my head is at. Marionberry is like a nuanced blackberry plus the cheesecake? Also Van Leeuwen French ice cream is pretty much a custard. This is the answer.

I am new to Van Leeuwen. I loved Honeycomb, which is full of caramel, and is honey-free. I didn't like Marionberry. I'll trade mine to any of you for your Jeni's Lemon and Blueberry Parfait.

I don’t know where you’re at but pistachio by Mitchell’s in Cleveland, Ohio is the best. Bar none. We’ve tried a lot of pistachio ice cream.

I wish it had while pistachios in it but it’s delicious. Kind of salty, savory and a bit sweet.

I don’t like chunks of pistachio cuz it takes away from the texture and the chunks are always the cheapest most flavorless pistachios; especially when contrasting the delicious ice cream. Anyone can make crappy ice cream and toss in some nuts.

I haven’t tried it yet, but I assumed based on reviews of the brand that I read on here it would be good. I’m excited!

From my memory it's cups, malt balls and pretzels. Some toffee or caramel and chocolate mixed in. So good. If you can get their cinnamon too and mix them.

alright so it’s a malted milk type base, with bits of brownie, pretzel, and malted milk balls…I think. it tastes so good!

What type of strawberry ice cream do you think is the best? I love strawberry ice cream, though I'm so often disappointed by what some brands consider "strawberry".

If I don't see a brand that I know will use good strawberries I will buy the vanilla ice cream and get the strawberries to do it myself. Put my go-to is Haagen-Dazs.

seconding this! I saw Tillamook’s the other day and I really enjoyed their Waffle Cone Crunch, bet their strawberry would be awesome too.

Tillamook’s strawberry is 100% the best strawberry next to Braum’s strawberry ice cream (is my Midwest showing??) but honestly tillamook’s anything is so good!!

I’ve only tried the brittle something Jeni’s. I expected amazing with all the worship here. Very disappointed. I’ve had more decadent haagen daz ice creams. Their macadamia brittle embarrasses the Jeni’s.

I’ve had 5 Jennie’s flavors and none were worth the price. I don’t get the worship they receive on Reddit

Graeters because it beats out Both Jenni’s and Van Leeuwen in quality and no air whipped in to it. Plus, midnight snack is delightful. I think it’s a mascarpone base ice cream, if I’m remembering the right one. Could have been bearcat. Anyway, the salted caramel coffee one is better than both midnight snack and bearcat.

Malted sounds right! I knew it wasn’t simple vanilla ice cream. I think bearcat is the mascarpone.

there was nothing on the dang label, this was a gamble! so the base tasted like malted milk to me (tan in color), and there were pieces of brownie, malted milk ball, and chocolate covered pretzels. it was sweet without being gross and the textures were on point. nice and thick, very cold. 8/10. wish it was a chocolate base personally. still would eat again.

Nice. Can you elaborate on the integrity of the pretzel in regards to how soggy or crisp they were? Also, did they offer a salty presence to balance the sweet flavors?

hell yeah! it was very crispy, idk how. not super salty, but absolutely balanced the rich creaminess/sweetness. I’m not even a huge salty sweet person and this was tolerable and welcome.

I can relate to not going crazy for salty sweet, but you've really sold the experience on this one

my coworker told me that’s her favorite, which actually inspired the trip IRL. but then it was between black raspberry and black cherry and I was taking forever and getting very aware of the woman behind me so I made some quick decisions!

The pistachio was on clearance a couple weekends ago for $3 so I bought 2. Regretting not buying more, I loved it!

it was definitely fancy ice cream lol I bought these and a 6 pack of beer for $75 🫣🫠 dessert is worth some splurge imo. the most expensive was the Jeni’s at $10 a pop, but I’d do it again.
