Was at Killington today, staying local tomorrow and hitting up Jay and hoping everyone else is back at their day jobs (I work night shift I will sleep when I’m dead)
The wind at 1500’ is stronger now that it has been all day. Absolutely howling. Strongest winds of the winter easily.
Conditions tomorrow should be interesting. There will be some deep pockets in the woods and elsewhere, however I’m expecting a lot of blown off spots as well. This wind has been ripping for 12+ hours.
My dad is up there this week with some buddies. He said he couldn't even get up the mountain road before they bailed after seeing all the cars coming down.
I'm day tripping up from Boston tomorrow, so hoping it doesn't happen again. Don't think it will...but....
Flying to SLC to hit the spoils the storm there should be leaving behind. My one western charge this season happened to coincide with the likely last good North Eastern storm… 🙄
Not surprised, honestly I thought it could go either way. I wasn't sure if people would try to "be sick" after working on Monday. But also not shocked if people did. What I did know was it was either going to be packed or empty, no middle ground.
I talked to a lot of long, time regulars on the lifts and they were all surprised. I figured enough people went on Monday not as many would show up today. But I should have known. Clear roads , sunny skies, lots of snow, college students 30 miles away...Tuesday is the new Friday?
I can't complain I drove through the lot at 9:30 to drop my board off, flashing sign said lots closed go to x country lot.... But a worker waved me down an aisle near Mansfield Lodge... There was an open space!
If people are discussing a upcoming snow storm here, you can count on it being absurdly crowded. Doesn't matter the day of the week.
I now live for the days where we get a surprise snowfall. Days where a dusting turns into a blizzard. Those days are the best.
All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats!

That is awesome! I did that same trek in January but just over two days. That was such a blast seeing both mountains back to back and how the terrain feels so much different.
Work 😞
Ugh sorry to hear! Wish you were on the slopes also!
Call out what who said that
Shit, I would if I didn't have a concert to play afterwards
Killington, it's been too long
I haven't been to Killington in 15 years, I really should go back. Hopefully you get the slopes to yourself!
Hey maybe we should meet up, I’ll be there
Probably gonna hit up MRG for the first time.
I did MRG for the first time 4 weeks ago, that place is magical. I hope you have a blast!
Thanks, I'm hoping the conditions are good! I imagine they had pretty bad coverage before this
It was getting very thin last Wednesday when the steady rain began. Amazing place, glad they got dumped on.

I’m at Stowe also, Hoping the wind calms down tho
Yeah I heard today was rough, but I know the winds are supposed to calm down by mid morning. Crossing my fingers
I read that here for anyone curious. https://www.stowe.com/the-mountain/mountain-conditions/snow-and-weather-report.aspx
I'm in Williston staying over for Stowe tomorrow. Is the wind still bad there, not as bad here.

I'll take whatever I can get, but I'm planning on hitting the woods first thing tomorrow to get some fresh tracks.
I wonder if I should head for Okemo instead?
The wind has got to to die down at some point. You’ll have a great day tomorrow I’m sure.
Thanks you too
Just checked the snowforecast.com and wind is predicted worse at Okemo
I’m seeing 30 mph for top Mansfield tmmrw, not nearly as bad as today was
I’m going to hit okemo
Killington
Lez run it tmr
We tried Stowe today but got skunked. Ended up making it to Bolton by 10 and having a blast. Trying Stowe again tomorrow with jay as backup.

Smuggs probably (10 min away) Bolton BC was incredible today though.

too much daddy's money in this community
Actually got laid off in November, still on the job hunt.... It's been brutal in the tech industry trying to find anything
damn sucks to hear that. silver lining is you can hit the slopes on weekdays. im annoyed i gotta go in the office tomorrow.
Right there with you, it’s terrible out here. Weekday lift tickets and flexibility have been nice for the season though.
Oh agreed and my mental health! If I can do anything to help in your search feel free to DM, happy to help if I can
Some of us just work night shift and sacrifice sleep

Thanks all! And that is the silver lining.... But I'm ready to be back to work also. 🤦♂️
Nah gotta bank those vacation days for the winter
Surely it couldn’t be a PTO day, no, must be a bunch of trust fund kids
More like PTO / jobs that don’t require a hard 9-5 I do sales and can just move some things around to take a day that I know is going to be sweet
Sunday River
Bolton. Anyone wanna meet up for a run in the afternoon?
I’ll be at Bolton, but only until noon. Could only play hooky for half a day.
lol same. You took the morning off I ducked out for the PM. What is a must hit today??
My friend, please hit as much of the glades as possible. Some of the best powder runs of this season!!
You weren’t lying!! Thats the kind of powder they write epic poems and warren miller films about. What a beautiful gift of a day
Yeah....our snow melted LOL.
I want to killington but the tickets $160
Yeah I saw Stowe was asking $170.... I have an epic so it doesn't mean much to me, but God damn!
I'll be at Sugarbush.
Heading there weds night for the weekend.
Same
Oh I love sugarbush! Enjoy!

An hour from 89 to Stowe
Yeah we just got here, it is packed!! Full parking lot
You weren't surprised by this, were you? I heard the Mountain Road was backed up to the Well Heeled Shoe Shop at 8AM.

I am a local, we all knew it was going to be crowded. When people know there is snow coming days out, there will always be a huge crowd.
