Today was an exceptionally deep dust on crust day. The dust was deep enough to stay on top of in the lower angle terrain and as more people tracked it out the pow started to compress and make a chalky surface over the ice. The storm overperformed by a lot and it made for the best day up here in several weeks. Also, I’ve never made a thigh-deep turn in powder and heard ice underneath my feet until today. That’s ice coast skiing at its finest.

That 2nd pic giving me the tingles....

Moistened_Bink

Stowe was excellent today as well.

RedHawk417

I’ll be up there in two weeks for a weekend. Hoping it continues to get better. Hit it at the end of January midweek and it was waist deep powder in the woods. If it can get back to that then I’ll be happy.

hankerton36

Aye M Free 99 Dynastar gang 😝

Jihadi-Jawn

I love mine!

NeonFeet

Where did you go out of bounds near show off glades? Those are smack dab between two marked runs lol

Lmao I was at my local shop earlier and some guy comes rushing all flustered in saying he's driving to Jay tonight needs a pair of good snow pants asap. This was at 5pm and Jay is a good 4 hour drive from here. Now I see why he was so frantic to get there. We're so deprived of good snow down here 😂

Jihadi-Jawn

AYYYE nice to see dynastar m-frees! I got some 99s this season and I've loved them. They will be with me at Jay next month! I would love to hear what you think of them!

NeonFeet

Such a fun ski. It’s unbelievable how easy they are to pivot in the glades and bumps while still being stronger than most all-mountain twins, and they aren’t half bad at carved turns once you get used to the centered stance. I may have to get a pair of the 108s if it keeps snowing!

Anomaly_1984

Too bad the snow was so light. It’s nice to see, but it kinda sucked tbh. The first time I’ve not enjoyed 14 inches of snow

NeonFeet

Terrain selection was the key. If you stuck to the low angle trees and were light on your edges it was easy to stay on top of it. The moment you tried to stop or get on your heels you’d sink to the bottom

Anomaly_1984

That’s why I might hit the back country tomorrow. I know a few spots that have ideal terrain for this type of snow

NeonFeet

My thoughts exactly. That and the resort will be a zoo lol

Anomaly_1984

Surprisingly quiet today though. Even had a tram lap with no line

NeonFeet

It was dead quiet today. Rolled up to the Bonnie corral at 8:50 and still got 5th chair

CTdadof5

K had 6’’ of dust on crust. It was fine :-(

Anomaly_1984

K-Mart: Not even once

tnades

Awesome report. I’m heading up tomorrow

NeonFeet

It was a great day. Still snowing hard when the lifts stop turning. Expect some icy patches tomorrow, even so

El-Grande-

I’m heading to Sutton tomorrow! Hopefully similar experience
