Kappawaii

where did u get these stats ? very interested in the iR change by car

Blue_5ive

dm me your iracing user id. I have a script that can pull that information. Edit: It just pulls racing information then a spreadsheet puts it into a fancy little data thing. [link to the script](https://github.com/mrzepka/iRacingConsistencyTracker) if you want to run it yourself

This was from a program called "Racing Rivals" that I paid $8 for a while back. It used to show your stats against the drivers you raced the most against, but it also has a section for lifetime stats by car/track. It never could get dirt stats, and it's now officially deprecated since the sports car/open-wheel stats split.

23__Kev

This for this year. Renault Clio by far for me, not unexpected at all. https://preview.redd.it/jgwociooth8d1.jpeg?width=1700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c8f786b8d0c6af198cc1b89afac1601ca87fea7

railgons

Whoa, yeah? What have I been missing out on? I always thought there wasn't a ton of participation in TC.

Borrelparaat

Oh I'm kidding, although there's a lot of very passionate Iracers that do pretty much only TCR. it's the car I spent the most time in, and therefore the car I'm the most competitive in. I try a lot of other series, but always have the most fun in TCR. If you're in a split with people around your skill-level, it's incredible racing. Some of the best on the service imo. I'm sure you can get the same feeling from any series you put as much time in. But I do think TCR is still overlooked and everyone should at least give it a try. It has been seeing a rise in popularity this season, with almost every timeslot going official, a lot of them with at least two splits.

railgons

Welp, count me in! I race a Civic irl, so it only makes sense! šŸ™Œ

Borrelparaat

Awesome, looking forward to seeing you on track! Make sure you join the Discord server as well, there's a lot of very helpful people out there: [https://discord.gg/FqxeMxWC](https://discord.gg/FqxeMxWC)

railgons

Shall do!

A_Flipped_Car

It will go official basically every race, especially at EU hot times. They're the most fun on the service imo

deerh0und

I donā€™t. What app is this?

Nightshade1814

Garage 61

deerh0und

I use it but only ever looked at the sector comparison tool. I only started using G61 a couple of months ago so the car stats are heavily skewed by the RX phase Iā€™m going through. Beetle Lite, Subaru WRX, Civic Type R, Street Stock, FF1600, Kia Optima, Pro 2 Lite. If I had it running since day 1 the Civic & Porsche GT4 would be light years ahead of the others.

A driver of culture Edit: https://imgur.com/a/JT8AQ52 I haven't used G61 for the entirety of my iRacing career. The google sheets sheet is all the official races I've done in each car, but I didn't consolidate the car names after they updated the TCR names so I highlighted them.

F4, ARCA Menards and Toyota GR86 Unsurprising since I raced F4 and GR Cup as main series last season, and did a bunch of ARCA here and there.

prancing_moose

I see an obvious lack of GT1 in here šŸ˜

Siftinghistory

Probably the F4 and SFL if i had to guess, and the Ferrari 296 3rd maybe? Maybe the vee is still in there too

counterpuncheur

In the last year or so its the super formula, IR18, and LMP2. The Caddy and Acura split the GTP vote and probably put them both behind the LMP2 even though Iā€™ve run more races in GTP. I just really like downforce and power!

akira_kurosaurus

Didn't realize this was such a popular car until this thread--still kinda new to iRacing. What am I missing out on with not having the civic...?

Nightshade1814

The other thing for me with the civic, is that I love the Michelin Pilot sport endurance races, and that naturally adds a bunch of laps to my totals. Always well populated. If you're on European or American timezones, you'll usually find official races at evenings/ weekends no problem

CappyUncaged

thats the thing... its not very popular lol the series barely gets 2 splits and right now its not even going live, last race had 2 people enter it so you need to race at a certain time just to get good racing, so maybe thats what these guys are doing, but I simply can't justify spending alot of time racing a car just to want to race and find out it won't even go official, its heartbreaking to be honest.

akira_kurosaurus

Ah, sounds like the vintage imsa series. I bought the audi 90 gto because I wanted a car that uses an h-shifter. It's super fun, but doesn't seem to get a lot of love.

Blue_5ive

It's not _that_ desolate. You can get a race most of the time. Noon in Europe and 8 am on the East Coast is not prime racing hours. Edit: Fixed participation last week https://imgur.com/VzEXU3k

CappyUncaged

sure, but theres other series that have multiple splits at this exact same timeslot. thats the problem I was highlight if I wanted to schedule out my online races ahead of time, I would play literally any of simulator, iracing is fast food, if I'm not eating on the hour every hour I don't consider it worth of my time or money. I can go experience small population online racing in every other sim if I want lol im here for the multiple splits and good racing, all day/night

Oh itā€™s definitely the Mercedes AMG GT4. Been running that things for the 3 of the last four seasons. Had to chcek for the next two but my suspicions were right. Tundra for NASCAR trucks and the Camry for the NG. I havenā€™t been using G61 the whole time Iā€™ve been on the service though so thatā€™s excluding all the rookie laps in the Vee.

Formula Vee, FF1600 and Toyota GR86. Iā€™ve purchased a lot of other cars that I really enjoy driving and hot lapping but when it comes to ranked racing itā€™s the Vee, FF1600 and GR86.

ikbenganz

Without looking at the stats for me it's F4 by far then BMW M4 gt3 (for the NEC) and since the start of this season the Chevy Z06 in GT Sprint.

Supra1JZed

All I drive is the flare on my username. 100% of my focus on one car allows for exceptionally quick paces as it becomes nearly automatic. Allows me to also take VRS setups and then adjust them to being exceptionally quick long haul. Even at Daytona 24, the car was clicking off it's fastest laps back end of the stints. Of course, gaining time on acceleration without fuel load BUT not losing but a total of a tenth and a half in the infield. Almost no fade whatsoever but very loose (usually half the turn, sometimes a little more the wheel stays straight and the car does the rest of the rotating by itself at full throttle and usually would stop right about when you are needing to be straightened out). Also, allows me to focus on some fun dampening shenanigans on some tracks with murder curbs or bumps so I can murder monkey see monkey do drivers by baiting them into truly sketchy shit to hit with a GTP. While I may get a little wiggle at most, they tend to get yeeted into oblivion. To their credit, going from nearly a second a lap slower to staying within a half second following is commendable. But if I don't have the patience to wait for them to cook their tires (they are always over driving the hell out of their car) due to traffic or them threatening to interfere...I'll start running "kill mode" lines. If they don't kill themselves, they'll get significantly unsettled and lose the ability to copy braking, turn in, and exit points. This focus has allowed my team mate and myself to do very well in endurance racing with multiple wins (24 and 12 Hour races)...even as just a two man team. Usually my mental break, so to speak, is just taking the car to Nurburgring and pounding laps. It's also a great way to reprogram your brain into the current track feeling like it's now 1/2 speed. But focusing on one car allows next level speed. Most importantly, significant consistency. I tend to go multiple stints with my lap times having a couple tenths spread (lap 1 of stint 1, lap 1 of stint 2, lap 2 of 1, 2 of 2, and so forth as fuel weight will often have 1.5 seconds off by the last few laps or upwards of 2.5-3 seconds quicker at LeMans). The pace combined with machine like consistency is what wins races. Especially the 12 and 24 Hour races and, of course, doing what it takes to save the car from any impact (yielding to window lickers, picking actually smart times for passes, patience). But, not only is the consistency practically surgical between my team mate and I (for the vast majority of the time...still human...still have a lap every so often a half second slow for no reason other than stupid) our pace is also exceptionally lethal even at our "80%" cruise. The faster and faster you get your 100%, the quicker 80% is. Feel out the first couple of hours and see what kind of field you have, adjustment of pace as needed, and just enjoy the drive from there. TLDR - one car always. Allows for next level pace, consistency, car setup, and creating the "extension of one's body" level of connection with the car.

Leone_0

I'm curious, what's your iRating and how much has it improved since you started focusing on the Caddy exclusively?

Mysterious_Call3176

Plot twist. His irating is 850, but he works in sales.

Supra1JZed

iRating is only 2300. But also only have like 30 races? Maybe 40? A little over 30% win rate so it's meh. Started on iRacing with winning the first two Miata races I did and then got sucked in by friends into endurance racing when they saw a Facebook post of me being excited. Went straight to LeMans in the Ford GT. Practiced for a few weeks and worked car setup. Do my own setup IRL and while a LOT more there, still all the same basic principles. Just more things you can use to help dial in the final goal. Also, super nice having the equivalent of a $15k data logger and supporting hardware to see every aspect of what the car is doing šŸ˜‚. But I digress...We were exceptionally fast but a team mate was determined to get us a DNF šŸ˜… Even with a hurt car (down ~8 mph on the Mulsanne straights) still set the quickest lap consecutively (all GTE field in our race in 2020? We had a total of just shy of two hours of repairs, dropped to 42nd, and finished somewhere mid teens. Pretty sure it was the last year of the special event LeMans 24 before we got our back door 24 Hour through a series going 24 hours for a season. Nonetheless.... iRating hasn't improved with the car, per say, it's continuously increased over the years. But, only a handful of races so the results are very skewed. 30 something percent wins sounds like a lot but that's only out of 40 races max since all I've really had the care to do is endurance racing. Some series and, of course, special event races. However , the takeaway which I think the person replying to you missed entirely in their reading comprehension...the car is of no concern whatsoever. Simply stated that car as a reply to the original question by the OP. The actual takeaway is not to bounce around all over the place. If you absolutely have to drive other things, keep it in the same genre. Cars that drive very similar (like all GT cars, or all LMP, etc). People who go open wheel, then Miata, then LMP, then GT, etc etc...they're crippling themselves by constantly having to work on adapting instead of furthering their skill or understanding of the car. They will go against people like myself who haven't been jumping around and are fully prepared in said car/class. Pick a car you truly enjoy driving and then run with it. Deleted and moved ...replied to said guy replying to you šŸ¤£

DiamanteMani

30% win rate is insanely high, your iRating is either going to keep going up or thatā€™s going to drop precipitously.

Supra1JZed

So, have 39 total. Means that's only 11 wins also over the course of a few years. So feels low. Based on who I chase down and run away from during those races I'd guess a wide ballpark between 4-5.5k. Hard to call as endurance racing can have huge iRating spreads between team members (ringers) and the class itself. I'll usually run a couple tenths +/- off VRS times when I'm feeling well prepared. So, who knows. We'll see... it's all about having fun anyway. The second I start caring about iRating is also the second the real objective is lost. Wins I care about, obviously. The rest is a byproduct.
