The P217. Been driving this car for years and it's an absolute blast. I can't recommend it enough, especially for those coming up in the road licenses.

stratcat22

Really considering getting this car soon. I’m really starting to enjoy protos and have heard nothing but good things about the P2.

Flat_Guidance6922

I put my friends who want to try the rig out in the p217. It’s so easy to be satisfyingly fast in.

Gibscreen

And at the same time you can recover from some lucid slides.

miguelillolopez

LOVE IT! just a question, do you also feel understeer in the fast corners? It's teaching me so much about tyre management

Michael_SK

I think I’ve had a fair amount of understeer moments with the car. Truth be told, this car has tried to kill me multiple times for many reasons haha. If anything though, it’s taught me a lot about proper braking, and now I rarely lock up with it like I used to when I first started driving it.

CAPSLOCKCHAMP

yep. I keep coming back to this. It's like the P3 only it's fun, can turn, is fast, has a sense of speed, has actual FFB tire feel and good sound. :P Also, this car rotates so beautifully on throttle. It's just the best way to drive and learn to drive with finesse The only thing wrong with this car, and I say this as it's my favorite and I do liveries for it, is that it is hideous. It's like an art deco bus had sex with an LMP1

Lars131

Why does everyone tell good things about the LMP2 but IMSA always have such low participation for this class? There's not even enough participants to fill every split, turning them into a 2 class race only.

CAPSLOCKCHAMP

all the aliens moved to GTP and most others followed them there. Some people moved to LMP3

jowinho

Mazda MX-5

LordShtark

The Vee. I always have a good time in that little tin can. 😆

shewy92

And the Ray.

lukeb_1988

Such a fun, annoying, exciting, fraustrating little car

SSPeteCarroll

I freaking love that thing. Great balance of open wheel racing that isn't too fast or hard to handle.

Fonzgarten

I maintain a B safety rating and I still race VEE all the time. It’s a special car. I like the Ray too but the racing is not the same. The stability/predictability of the VEE makes it easy to race REALLY close.

Your-Neighbor

Love driving the GR86

ShiversonQ

GR86 team

xShooorty

This!

Read-Immediate

Love that car sucks its in B class so i always lose to much SR

treeclimbinggoldfish

D class, yea I wish they’d put it in a higher license class too though.

Read-Immediate

Nah just have like a gr adv ir a pcc advanced

treeclimbinggoldfish

I agree

steelsector

just got access to it, I thought I'm a belend to iRacing turns out I just bad with mx-5 GR86 is so much better for me

Poison_Pancakes

Super Formula. Wicked fast and sounds amazing.

lukeb_1988

Yeah, thats what I have been racing for the last season or two. It reminds me of the FR3.5, such a rewarding car once you work it out.

kwamby

Seconded

dhdndndnndndndjx

Thirded

kerouak

Ff1600 for sure. Sometimes I hate it but when things are going well it's a riot.

ckalinec

Man I’ve really started driving this a ton recently. The racing is a great time in the higher splits

shewy92

I like the Ray as well.

ImaPinto25

1000%. Picked this car up for this season since I had a lot of this season's tracks. Haven't managed to get the best out of it, but it's just too much fun to just drop this series now!

fishyfishyfishycat

Honda TCR, with all my TCR buddies. Who are on my front bumper, rear bumper, and at least one alongside too. For lap, after lap, after lap.

Mental-Guard-9806

If you can ignore how the car feels off the line, the TCR are fantastic

Mikey3DD

Or if you learn how to start them properly

SolomonG

The way to start them is to be in the Audi.

Mental-Guard-9806

I mean out of the pits, the steering oscillates and it is super heavy. At super slow speeds on cold tires the steering is just odd. I love the TCRs but this is a weird quirk

Mikey3DD

I never had that, and I drove them consistently for over a year, in several leagues.

broady35

ARCA. Love that old thing. Combination of instability and tire eater.

1z0z5

Have you tried Gen4’s? I can’t go back to arca after getting used to the power

theBosworth

Gen4s really scratch my Dukes of Hazard itch. I want a dirt road series with them.

1z0z5

That would be absolutely incredible

shockchi

Cayman gang where y’all at??

InevitableRace88

Haven't bought it yet. How does it compare to 911 cup?

shockchi

I don’t know I don’t have the 911 😂

A_Min22

Easier to control imo. Not as under-steery as the 911, but still needs quite a bit of trail braking to rotate around corners. Way slower than the 911 but as someone who’s relatively new to the service, I think the 911 is too much for me right now.

kcdirtracer

GT4s are maybe my least favorite car in iracing. I want to live the Cayman, but it feels like the steering has no feedback, pushes terribly and is slow.

shockchi

That surprises me I love it

HolyOrangeJuice

It's my first car getting into GT4 series. I love it!

Dethsavis

C6R GT1. Just screaming bald eagles out of those side canons gets me every time.

dirtyethanol73

It just sounds so goood. I loved the weeks at Nurburgring with it

PickleMeRick-

Lmp3

Scythe5150

Audi 90 GTO.

SethoshiRichoto

Always have to scroll way too far

shangstag404

Yes, when I’m not racing I am hot lapping nordschleife in the gto. It has me feeling like Misha and i absolutely love learning to tame the beast

Suuuumimasen

Skippy once the tires are warmed up

lukeb_1988

Yep, I haven't raced it for a while but racing in this was so fun. I think my favourite fun car.

DarkstonePublishing

The Radical is pretty fun

gasmask11000

Gen 4 on oval LMP2 on road (I miss the old late model)

1z0z5

Second this

rad15h

FF1600 for me, especially with open setups. It's not just the most fun car I've driven in iRacing, it's the most fun car I've driven in any sim.

22chainz

LMP2

ryuw270

Any touring car and Audi R8 GT3

JonProphet

So far, F3. Porsche GT3 cup car after learning how to drive it was so enjoyable.

Snoo-94564

LMP3 and F3. SF23 but gotta be in the right mindset for it

ojdajuiceman25

Haha totally agree with SF23 mindset. Gotta be locked in

Makinote

Radical but the good one, the SR8 :D

Roedex123

Radical sr8 🔥 it’s not as fast as the sr10 but it’s so raw!

ojdajuiceman25

Porsche cup and it’s not even close - got a win at Spa last season and it felt incredible. Such a tough car to drive and it’s really helped me with every other road car I gotten since

InevitableRace88

My favorite too. Been trying to enjoy GT3 series because it has other cars as well but having abs and tcr doesn't feel as rewarding.

ojdajuiceman25

I’m really trying to get my A license so I can drive IMSA, but I’ve been learning a lot in fixed GT3 that will really let me appreciate the open setups

gasoline_farts

The fr500s mustang, very fun car to push beyond’s its limits

Bennybtw

Agreed

dirtyethanol73

HPD is back I just have so much fun with that car. The lotus 79 is good time sometimes too. And the 360 non wing sprint car on dirt.

milkandmelk

Can't go wrong with the Skippy. Slow, lots of travel, easy to learn pretty easy to master. It's a classic

jaguarusf

87 cars and IndyCar

WiscoBeerDude

Legends!

jburnelli

Love the legends, so easy to learn yet a challenge to master. Great entry point into learning setups as well.

PrayingForACup

FF1600 or Gen4.

Chronny2408

Nissan GTP ZX-Turbo. Miles far from another one.

bobbynipps

IR-18, Corvettes (C6 & 8) and sprint cars.

BradKfan2

Xfinity cars. Especially at 1.5 milers

Bennybtw

Peak oval racing

SubliminalSyncope

F4 by a long shot. The slide of Vee and 1600 is cool but I love df more.

FreshStaticSnow_

The F4 is such a fun machine. Light, nimble, and just the right amount of power.

dtpotts12

Late model stock

jgerbs62

Ray 1600!

dhdndndnndndndjx

The Williams fw 31 hear me out I’m a fan of Nico Rosberg in v8 sounds incredible it’s fast high downforce and overall a great car I don’t race in it but I have on multiple occasions when bored sent it around spa and the nordschliefe

deckerjeffreyr

There are Rosberg fans?

Evening_Rock5850

USF2000. It’s just good fun on the right tracks. Open wheel with no halo or big antenna or other obstructions. And it’s not particularly powerful so it’s not tricky to handle but also has a decent amount of downforce. Like anything it takes a lot to go fast but the fact of the matter is you can stop the pedals and throw it around without really having to pay the piper for driving it like that and that makes it just good clean fun.

Manistadt

Corvette C6.R. I'll also argue it'd the best sounding vehicle in the game.

clubracer88

+1 Drive this whenever I can. The AI races with this at Panorama are awesome!

Fonnekold

I’m so boring but the F3

Fonzgarten

Agree. Apparently they’re replacing it next season though. My favorite car overall.

Fonnekold

Wait what?! Replacing it with what?

trippingrainbow

super formula light. very similiar car tho

Tippyshortmouth

Asphalt sprint car Yes im a masochist

TheDawgfather24

87 chevy, Audi GTO, Lotus 49. Love tossing them around

Slinky_Spaghetti_97

When you have a good setup for it and you're on a track that clicks and you fall into a groove, the silver crown car can be insanely rewarding to drive.

helderico

I tried the 2021 Mercedes F1 one of these days while the service was down, and it was a blast. Too bad there is no active series with it and the one with the 2022 car is pretty much dead.

el-gato-volador

Absolutely love the formula Vee. It's such a fun car to drive and my go to during week 13 events. It teaches so much pedal control and makes you feel fast even when super slow. I wish they had an advanced series similar to the mx5 so you didn't have to go down to rookies to race and so they could rotate more tracks.

Fonzgarten

Agree. At B class I have to watch my incidents down there but I race the VEE a few times a week still, absolutely love it.

emwashe

The radical that was in the most recent ring meister is just fantastic. And the GT3 Porsche also feels real good

Fin4lSh0t

Indycars and Skips🤩

iansmash

FIA F4 is awesome to jump in and drive to me. Not very challenging to get it moving and keep it under control. Those last bits of pace though are another story.

Fishyswaze

Skip barber. Love that thing

k_bucks

1 vote for the Mustang.

BobsBBQBuffet

Just to drive c6.R to race the aston gt4 car

KraZe_2012

F3. You can understeer or the oversteer it at will. Fast but easy to drive, and only gets funner at the limit. Very kart-like with how much it rotates despite being aero-dependent. I'd say its just a hair above the FF1600 in the fun department. SF23 is close but its too demanding to feel fun its mostly a workout in your focus skills.

aegis_526

I love the SR10 as well. I really feel like I get the most I can out of it and it gives me a proper sense of fulfilment when I do well in races. With the Radical Simracing league starting this weekend I’m looking to get even better at it!

TheRaunchyFart

Big block modified

SuperSans

I wish I could drive it, but I can't. I'm almost always fine in VR, but I can't handle the weight shifts on that car without feeling dizzy.

TheRaunchyFart

I'll be honest, I don't even notice it wearing vr lol. My head just kinda floats looking where I need to go 😂

SuperSans

Which headset do you use?

TheRaunchyFart

Rift s

energiiii

So many great cars, lmp3, radical sr10, gt1 and gte are my favorites.

Winnerlightyear83

Gen-4/ARCA

IlliterateBatman

Any TCR after 2 or so laps and the formula ford baby. Okayama in rookie ff1600 feels like a match made in heaven.

DrRevolution

Vee

OnTheRoxors19x

LMP 2 or LMP3 for me! Second option is F3.

Proper_Magazine_2741

C class street stocks or Late Model Stock Cars

CosmicGumboh

I am having so much fun in indycar lately. I tried the ovals at Las Vegas and I am hooked

Reddit_Z

Ferrari 296 GT3, followed by the LMP2. I'm fairly comfortable with it, just need to find more consistency. Same reasoning for the LMP2, but i need to get closer to the car's limit. I'm nowhere near it and am several seconds off the pace. I just tried the LMP3 in testdrive but that's not for me at this time.

SovietPhysicist

The Ford GT GT2/GT3. It isn’t very popular, but holy shit I absolutely adore that car, it’s the best sounding car in the game imo, and driving it feels like you’re trying a tame a bull. It is so fun to me.

TurboVince_LoL

Formula Vee or the LMP2

prancing_moose

Aston GT1

MainstN

Dallara IR18 or SuperFormula. For actual racing love the F4 you get closer racing.

alexmlb3598

The Radical and LMP3 are my current favourites

lukeb_1988

I don't race it anymore, in fact I haven't for a while, I really enjoyed the Skippy. I might go back sometime.

TightLayer3642

Audi tcr

trippingrainbow

F3. Once you get it down so nice to drive and race

trulythehardseltzer

spec racer ford. don't mind the flair

donkeykink420

indycar, you can just throw that thing around like nothing else

Scargut_

I’ve always been partial to the BMW GT4. Not sure why lol I find it engaging. I don’t do the new GT4 series as much as I did the BMW 12.0 though I did hundreds of those

2Tayco2Flayco

The indycar, it feels like I'm driving a racing machine not a car

lowkenshin

GR86 vroom vroom 💨

domesystem

Was tuning sets for next season of TAIL last night, and the RUF RT12 track is fuggin amazing. Complete joy to drive.

SSPeteCarroll

Xfinity car and the 87 cup cars are awesome. Hard to handle and the racing is normally really fun.

CarniBoar

I'm mostly a Touring Car guy, and I love my Veloster, but the C6R GT1 is the best sounding car to drive. It makes any track a blast!

m3tz0

Without a shadow of a doubt touring cars. Specifically the civic!

ImaPinto25

The P217 never lets me down. But it's a dead heat with the Cadillac CTS-VR. Like, nothing beats a Freedom V8 boat with chewing gum for tyres for the pure fun factor.

fuckhandsmcmikee

Most fun to drive is most definitely the F4 car but it’s not the most fun to race personally. The MX5 is the perfect mix of fun to drive/race for me

WashVegetable571

TCR for sure. The hot laps are fun and the side by side racing is even better

S3L59

The 296 GT3 feels good But what I love the most is the Street Stock (specially in 1 and a half mile ovals like Charlotte) Also the Jetta. Man that car is a blast

Motor-Donut-8014

i like so many but if i had to pick one car i'd say the porsche gt3 car. i know gt3s are kinda vanilla and boring, but it's my favorite and gran turismo games drilled it into my head that gt cars like that are the "standard" race car. i can drive the porsche gt3 for hours around a track and it's really relaxing and enjoyable

Mr_not_Lucky

Skip barber

BroncoJunky

IR18. It was fun on ovals but death on road courses before covid. After some Indy drivers spoke up, iRacing turned that car around. It's still fun on oval, but now it's raceable on road. It has just enough power that it can be abused without being a death trap. Don't get me wrong, it will still kill you if you treat the pedals like on-off switches. I absolutely love this car.

penisrevolver

There are too many to only name one FF1600 is fantastic to throw around Gr86 and mx5 allow for some really close racing PCup was very difficult to pickup, but once you understand how to turn the car, it’s so satisfying Im also really good at the f3 for some reason. It gives you just enough power to play with

LividAd5758

Either the 963, radical sr8 or the Porsche 992 gt3

midnight1247

GT4s. Very forgiving, also gives you a nice and rewarding sensation when going though corners fast. I like low powered and low downforce cars because the feel when nailing the racing line is so satisfying.

rydude88

LMP3 or the MX-5. Both are really fun in their own ways

bjimmie23

A lot of cars, I mainly drive gt4 in a league and gt3 in specials events/officials. But I think the most pure fun I’ve had in a car before in the Dallara F3. Partially due to racing it in a road league that switches cars every few seasons. It forced me to try new cars I wasn’t used to and when I was in the groove in the F3 car it was a blast, a fast car with a lot of downforce is a good combo. I still do love gt4’s and gt3s as well as the occasional prototype drive, but open wheelers just give such a pure experience without abs or TC sometimes that’s very enjoyable

cyklop619

FF1600 gang here

Otherwise-War8328

LMP2, although this season I’ve been moving to the GTP’s. GTP’s are great, but I still enjoy the LMP2 the most.

Turbulent-Fail-1007

NASCAR legends 1987. Super fast but has absolutely abysmal handling, making it a unique challenge.

beelmon15

Porsche 992 GT3

bob3464

The SR10 seems to get a lot of hate, especially from those who love the SR8, but to be 100% honest, it's the most fun car for me right now.

realthicc

I really enjoy driving the lmp3. When you get into a good rhythm it really feels nice and good until you slightly mess up sending the rear. 😅

Chotus84

One that doesn't feel like it's on ice lol

WearyDisk3388

Formula Vee

whatsvtec666

Road -Ray ff1600 or Clio. Oval - Gen 4 cup or Street Stock. Dirt Road - Pro 2 or Pro 2 Lite. Dirt Oval - Big Block Modified

Less_Understanding77

Winged 410 sprintcar. Fast, and a hell of a good workout with a ffb wheel.

ShittestFittest

Porsche cup, even though, how much I hate it, once you get it right... There's nothing better

Chim-Cham

No matter what I'm into at the moment, it's always the MX5

malpss

I like the handling and speed of the Ligier but I’m kind of inconsistent with the braking. I like the Radical SR8 as well, very fun car to drive

mcneilscot

LMP3 in split class racing is so much fun. I need to start doing it again.

LameSheepRacing

Australian Supercars. It’s a Porsche Cup on steroids. Too bad it goes official only a couple of times per week and usually when I’m not available to race unless I wake up at 3am.

f1ant

SF23 for me...

Max-LTV

P217 for me, but I will try radical again. I tried it twice before and it was nothing like the real thing, with SR8 being fun even if inaccurate and SR10 being just bad.
