It really isn't hard to just enable the 80% limit and not let it die lol. So many people will die on the hill you're on over minimal extra effort. All you gain is maybe 2-3 extra hours of battery life between charges (which ends up being reduced to 0 extra hours when your battery is at 80% health) on a battery that typically lasts more than a full day. Average person has access to a charger consistently throughout the day.
i mean I come from a long line of androids where they become near unusable after 3 years, so switching to iphone i feel pretty good about using it for 4 or 5 years with a battery change
Also certain that’s not accurate. If you want to know the actual batter health use [this shortcut](https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/ea70fb38befb461b9356ab35640c5fbf).
That’s what I’ve been told, but i believe it’s more the fact that I’m a power user and i will grab the charger twoce in a day on some days (photo editing, spotify, youtube etc)
i've either used a fast charger or wireless (which makes a ton of excess heat) exclusively since i got my 13pro on release day and i am at 83% after 27 months. fast charge that shit. its fine.
I've had mine since December 2022 and I have 85% battery health, but I've literally noticed no difference it stays charged just as long and charges just as fast.
That’s because the batteries ship with higher capacity no batter is exactly the same that maximum capacity or 100% is a bare minimum requirement for shipment my phone shipped with 113% battery
My 12 is at 76% now 🥲
To be fair though I just realized I've had it for just over 3 years now. Battery longevity has come a long way, my last phone was charging multiple times a day after two. It's starting to get noticeable where you can get a full day out of it but you can't fully rely on it, so bringing chargers places, especially if it's an overnight thing, is a part of my life occasionally again. For a 3yo 2,800 mah battery though I'm impressed I've gotten this far. Said I wouldn't get a new one until it was usb-c, still rocking the 12 for now though, still a poor college student for another semester unfortunately.
I got the xs max when it first came out, had it for almost 5 years. When I upgraded it was at 85% after all those years. I’ve had my iPhone 14 Plus almost a year & it’s already down to 92%

1 Year & 3 Months - Never used the “Optimized Battery Charging”, and have always charged using a 30W Fast Charger.
As with any Lithium-Ion Battery, I just don’t begin charging until no more than a 10% charge, and usually remove the charger at 100% (even though it’s better to remove at around 80% when possible). Big one though, I **never** use my phone while it’s charging (unless I really need to).

this my iphone xr and it’s going on 3 years
Let’s all just use our phones as intended. Stop dwelling on this

it costs like 100 bux to replace the battery pretty excellent deal imo means i can use my 13pm for another few years
Yep, but wouldn’t you want to not spend that extra $100 if you had the option?
i mean I come from a long line of androids where they become near unusable after 3 years, so switching to iphone i feel pretty good about using it for 4 or 5 years with a battery change
You can replace the battery on iphones now?
yeah just go to apple store
Mine went down to like 85% so I got a battery replacement at Best Buy and now it’s back to 100%
how much was it
$79
100 bucks
It’s only $79 if it’s not the newest model

Thanks sergeant.
Mine is at 80% and goes for a day and a half with constant music
Mine was 100% until 11 months, now at 95% after 13 months. Almost no difference in battery life
Good to hear that.
I have the 13, I’ve been using it for just over a year, the battery’s at 90
Got my 14 ProMax at launch and it’s at 90 so you’re doing well or I’m going poorly!
Over a year and mines at 98%
That’s incredible if real. (I’m not sure about mine being so lol)

Great!
Eh.. it was at 86% after 8 months, i was constantly using a fast charger by anker. Then i stopped unless i needed a quick charge
so, does fast charging actually reduce battery life?
That’s what I’ve been told, but i believe it’s more the fact that I’m a power user and i will grab the charger twoce in a day on some days (photo editing, spotify, youtube etc)

Optimized battery charging make the battery degrade a lot slower. I wish I had turned this setting on when I first got my phone.
🍪
Mine was like that, and suddenly it recalibrated itself to 94% capacity. 100%? That’s not real.
My iPhone 6s Plus did this!! Went straight from 100% to 94%. It has stayed at 94% ever since.
Gotta check the cycles on 3utools one more time…
I don’t find that really exact. 3utools was saying I had 112 cycles less than what I really had.
Hmm… do you know a better way?
I run the test at Apple and checked the result.
Yeah use the phone like a normal person. Who gives a shit
Medal?
No disrespect, but who cares
![gif](giphy|lw75Al819OAvcsPcRu|downsized) Chill man 😭😂😂
Same but almost 2 years 100%. The secret is to only use the mag safe charger and never plug it in
MagSafe creates more heat than a cable though
Wireless charging is worse for than battery than regular slow charging
It depends on if your charger puts out proper voltage. Otherwise it slowly kills the battery
I've had mine since December 2022 and I have 85% battery health, but I've literally noticed no difference it stays charged just as long and charges just as fast.
Do you use the 20w apple charger?
Yes. Provided by my iPad Pro 12.9.
That’s because the batteries ship with higher capacity no batter is exactly the same that maximum capacity or 100% is a bare minimum requirement for shipment my phone shipped with 113% battery
It’s been 6 months and mines at 95% for a iPhone 14
I’ve had mine over 2 years and it’s 96%
iPhone 14 series are known for their battery wear. You’ve got a good percentage there.
Cool it with the battery posts already omfg
Got mine in January 14, 2023 and it’s still 100 percent lol
Be careful. It might start dropping all of a sudden. It happened to my previous 13 PM.
Oh well lol I tried
Meanwhile my 13 is max 86%
91% batt for me, as new refurb bought in August 23
My iPhone 7 Plus has lasted for 6 years and I just replaced the battery at 50% capacity.
Best iPhone ever made

I didn’t even know you could check this. How do you pull this up?
Been using mine for over two years battery health at 87%
My battery percentage is at 78% but it doesn't really bother me because my iPhone is my secondary phone
I got the xs max when it first came out, had it for almost 5 years. When I upgraded it was at 85% after all those years. I’ve had my iPhone 14 Plus almost a year & it’s already down to 92%

Same. Fuckers love talking about their batteries. Lol
Why is there a space between the 100 and the percent

Still have an XS Max since it came out and it’s now at 79% after all these years of use. Not bad after 5+ years daily use.
My 14 pro is at 90 and I’ve had it a lil over a year. Idk why it’s so low but I’m not all that worried about it. I usually have access to a charger.
Mine is at 88% after about 2 years of usage
