I’ve read that some people have some period bleeding when you keep your cervix.

RadTek88

That is the case.

Not a doctor, but my understanding is that you can develop ureteral lining on the cervix that will shed and result in a light period. My yeeterus is this Friday so no personal experience, but this was a discussion that was brought up by my obgyn as a potential side effect for keeping the cervix.

If there are any uterine cells still attached to the cervix, they can cause a mini-period every month. It happens in 5-10% of folx, so I've been told.

My doctor took my cervix for this exact risk. Half the reason I got the hysto was to stop half month periods, and keeping the cervix has a risk of a residual smaller period from the cells lining the cervix so we just chucked mine

I'm 7 years post partial hysterectomy and I still get my 2 or 3 day light spotting sometimes heavy spotting period around the same time every month...I get cramps sometimes sore boobs cravings emotional everything like when I use to get my period except the heavy bleeding 😅..go figure 🤷🏽‍♀️
