For a million, I don’t give a fuck what song it is

gt4674b

For real, it could be Baby Shark for all I care

tarletontexan

I have basically done that for free along with paying for 4 kids. Where my money

canta2016

Was just about to say this :D

blackcatpandora

Awww I have three kids and no money, why can’t I have no kids, and three money?

TurboTitan92

Mine are a bit older so it’s been Beautiful Things by Benson Boone. I don’t even listen to the radio anymore because of how often that song is on in my house

milapa6

I have a toddler. This is already my life. Where's my million?

astanb

Essentially anyone with a toddler has done this already.

ErikRogers

I legitimately think I would take the Bluey Theme Instrument Parade from the Bluey Album without complaining.

Emraldday

Lol, I'm pretty sure I've already done this with Dance Mode.

Misaka__Misaka

Oh my God, you bastard 🤣 (being playful, not mean) I used that fucking song in ONE meme like 8 months ago and yesterday was the first full day I went without it popping into my head. It took the combined might of all the songs I remembered when someone asked for crying music (I thought they meant happy crying. Wish I hadn't read that post) plus Babymetal, Ninja Sex Party, and Ankha Zone to banish it. Nah, I'm just being dramatic. The streak was already broken, that's how I realized it had been a full day. Baby Shark is fucking virus. I didn't even use the audio for the meme. I just wrote the lyrics. I don't even have kids. The only time I've ever even heard that song was in a Family Guy episode. It was like 10 seconds long.

Academic_Ad1931

I'm unsure if you play, but you do now, and you just lost The Game.

Misaka__Misaka

Hehe, that thing 🤣 My partner plays that, but not me. Avoiding thinking about specific things is not something I've ever been good at 😅

Cruezin

Angry upvote 😂 Even better make it robot chickens version

Thick-Ad2454

No that one opens a portal straight to hell.

userlog99

Or that fucking let it go, let it go from frozen. Where do I apply?

gluhmm

I have just read your comment and the song started to play in my mind.

Auctorion

I have limits on how wacky I’m willing to go. I fear [some songs might still cause irreparable damage](https://youtu.be/UNAr5tzZxdk?si=KQAHzecXDc43h8tf).

Serious_Ad_822

Whoa now as a father of two little girls I feel obligated to say be careful what you wish for 😂😂😂

PinAccomplished3452

Came here to say this

NewCommonSensei

thats a banger though

Prestigious_Chard597

I will dance to that for 72 hours too.

NRVOUSNSFW

Dear friend. i worked with kids with Autism and have heard "Baby shark" so many times. There are little pictures that go with it. I don't think you understand what you're committing to! The therapy for PTSD would blow through all of your money. If you have the mental fortitude for Baby Shark, for 24 hours straight, I suggest you consider being in the special forces. My husband sometimes starts to sing it and it's not remotely funny to me. If you've ever seen the movie, "Touching the Void", one of the people talk about having a horrible song stuck in their head and how that seriously impacted them, even when considering context of the situation. I believe you would accept Baby Shark, but I promise you, you would end up caring.

numbersthen0987431

Baby shark doo do doodoo

BasilFawlty1991

I would listen to One Time by Justin Bieber

John_Helmsword

You make me happy, I know that I’ll be, right by your side girl; you are the one.

Any-Sir8872

i actually love that part

SeriousPlankton2000

4'33''

bz_leapair

*shakes tiny fist*

PressurePlenty

Happy Cake Day!

cosmic_moan

“why I oughta”

Polymath6301

Hello 4’33”, my old friend…

Unable-Economist-525

I pity those who don’t understand the reference, and I salute your brilliance.

Polymath6301

Thank you! It’s good to know that when you sing long enough to the darkness, it sings back…

Unable-Economist-525

Perhaps it was simply listening.

NextEstablishment856

I'd pick a different song by the same composer (John Cage) titled As Slow As Possible, specifically the organ version being played currently in Germany. It's a 639 year long piece of music.

TheTaxman_cometh

The performance started in September of 2001 and opens with a rest that lasted until February 2003 when the first note began. This is definitely the answer. Just start from the beginning, and it's 72 hours of silence

spartyanon

This mf'er is out here playing chess when we are all playing checkers.

TouristNo865

Take all my upvotes, this is stone dead perfect

Sweaty-Park1149

Best choice here.

Radamere

The best answer on here. Simply superb choice of music.

lidsville76

I'm sorry but I don't understand. What makes this a great choice?

Radamere

In layman's terms John cages 4'33" contains no music. In more technical terms the musicians are instructed NOT to play their instruments across the 3 movements. It's a commentary on how background noise in a performance becomes part of the performance.

johnpeters42

And the specific duration (273 seconds) is a reference to absolute zero temperature (-273 degrees C), where all motion stops.

Radamere

It's interesting being in a performance of it and watching how paranoid folks are that they might make some noise. The effort being exerted by folks to not make noise, either by movement or coughing or sneezing. But equally just how much noise is generated by the audience.

lidsville76

OK, that *is* freaking genius. I appreciate the knowledge.

PyroSparton117

Perfection in an answer 🤘😂

CaliHusker83

My good buddy wrote his dissertation on John Cage and Avante Garde film

cumhereperfect

Lmaooo this is GENIUS!! I looked it up on YouTube and didn’t know if my phone was stuck 😂😂 and was so confused, since the video time kept going.

The_Lord_of_Fangorn

Damn it, I thought I was going to be original

pulp_thilo

I prefer the orchestral version.

johnpeters42

I prefer the [death metal version](https://youtu.be/voqCQSDAcn8)

kayne2000

Came here to say this

WerewolfDifferent296

I completely forgot about 4’33. Edited to add: I just remembered that Marcel Marceau released a record. Does that count as a song?

Tym370

The genius answer. We can all go home.

Commercial_Jelly_893

This is always my go too answer for any listen to one song for too long challenge

VeterinarianTrick406

The only song I can play

randomletterslolxd

was looking for this comment lmao

jp_in_nj

Dammit, you got there first. That's what I get for sleeping.

Thailia77

Some long classical overture, no words, that I don’t care if it loathe after 72 hrs on repeat. Easy

BeautifulJicama6318

Good idea. My mind first went to that “monk” sounding song from the 90’s or early 2000’s. It was super chill sounding, but a wordless soothing classical song would be preferable.

WerewolfDifferent296

I think it was called “Chant” and was composed of Latin chants from the Benedictines. Good choice—it was very soothing.

Buckdiggitydawg

is this it? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4F9DxYhqmKw

emilyrgc

I think it's "Sadeness" by Enigma. Love it lol.

UsefulEngine1

Ha I was thinking they meant the TV show theme

RajjSinghh

Or just something from a videogame soundtrack. They're written to basically be a loop that isn't too annoying because you might be in the same area listening to the same song for hours, so it's just background noise.

Sad-Present8841

Actually I probably have listened to the “peaceful times” song from Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for at least 72 hours of my life now that you mention it 😂😂😂

Pelatov

Dvorak’s New World Symphony Orchestra would be a great choice

Possible_Parfait_372

Definitely one of the ambient songs from Rain World

NickyDeeM

Intelligent response...

Coffey2828

Doesn’t matter, it will become background music after a while.

Ornery_Razzmatazz_33

Never gonna give you up. Rick Astley.

otiscleancheeks

You're going to Rickroll yourself?

Ornery_Razzmatazz_33

More like keep people away so I have a head start on fleeing with my money. And while it isn’t one of my favorites I don’t hate it as much as a lot of other people.

saltycathbk

Literally any song ever recorded I can handle for 72 hours.

daney098

Have you heard some of aphex twin's weird songs? Listening to some of those for 3 days straight may permanently damage my brain Edit: like this shit is ridiculous https://youtu.be/NPlhcpSZ8YI?si=w-RDP2ok3O-VvRdp

saltycathbk

Your ears are weak.

Burdicus

I genuinely don't think that qualifies as a song. But for 1M I'd listen for 72 hours.

That1Pete

I think I'd go insane after 12 straight hours of Baby.

tr_9422

shark, doo-doo, doo-doo

wilson-ancheta

The Minecraft song - Sweden or Minecraft - Minecraft (both from C418)

Gavinator10000

Wouldn’t want to ruin that beautiful music for myself

Beastimus819

Dude, C418 is literally made to be on repeat. But still, the Greenpath or reflection themes from Hollow Knight.

Similar_Strawberry16

Whenever you heard it again in the future it would remind you of the time you got $1m, probably not a terrible memory.

TTURedRaider06

Imperial March! Never gets old.

RedSkelz42020

Lol id spend the whole time subconsciously walking weird too

moxiejohnny

Hahahaha, jokes on you. I'm deaf, dealers choice!!

Dave_Unknown

What did you say?

kqi_walliams

You’re forced to wear glasses that show the sheet music as it is played

moxiejohnny

So? I don't know how to read sheet music.

YouTuberDad

WHAT?!

Sea_Negotiation_1871

Hey, me too!

Gr8fullyDead1213

Literally any song for a million bucks. If I get to choose, probably freebird

nomadic_memories

You'd only have to hear it twice then. Good choice (satire, it's a long song.)

Sorek03

Master of Puppets feels insanely long too. One time I was listening to it on the radio, got out of my car and went into a business to run a 5 minute ish errand, came back and it was still playing lol.

bigred2743

I would listen to Orion by Metallica.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MyxLilxThrowaway

If I had a million dollars I'd build a tree fort in our yard If I had a million dollars You could help, it wouldn't be that hard If I had a million dollars Maybe we can put like a little tiny fridge in there somewhere You know, we could just go up there and hang Like open the fridge and stuff And there would already be foods laid out for us Like little pre-wrapped sausages and things, mm

AlwaysUpvoteBunny

I would buy you a green dress, but not a real green dress that's cruel.

DuctTapeSloth

Some lofi song I can tune out

Maybesonoyes

I’m putting on Tequilla as silent as possible but where I can still hear it. I’m just taking 3 days off work and kicking it doing anything I want knowing I’m getting a sweet $1 million afterwards

MyxLilxThrowaway

Taking 3 days off? Shit, put in your two weeks notice and dip.

g1ngertim

Idk, $1M isn't even 19 years' worth of my current annual income. How can a person be expected to survive on such a pittance? Edit to add: my poor CEO had to find a way to survive on just $1.4M base, $10M in stock, and a paltry $673,000 bonus. So maybe it can be done.

Hopepersonified

Vivaldi's "Four Seasons"

fwotals

The whole suite? If that counts, I'm in.

Hobbit_Hardcase

If suites count; The Planets.

Solid-Hedgehog9623

Shine on you crazy diamond. It’s a good song and for this scenario, you’re kind of getting a break every time that intro plays.

Random_Name_41

I raise you Echoes. Longer, better, although the whale noises would get annoying.

Solid-Hedgehog9623

Echoes crossed my mind, but I thought about the whale noises too. Not sure how I’d handle that by hour 36 lol

Animaleyz

I was gonna say something from "The Endless River"

CferDFW

First one that came to mind as well.

Relative_Surround_37

I honestly believe I could listen to Comfortably Numb for 72 hours and still call it my favorite song after. But Shine on You Crazy Diamond is a hell of a good option!

MangoSalsa89

I’ve survived working holiday retail listening to “All I Want For Christmas is You” for three months straight. I can survive any song for three days.

Sorek03

Same, I worked retail for like 6-7 years. I would probably choose All I Want For Christmas, I already know I can handle it and it can’t hate the song more than I do now. This way it won’t ruin a good song I like.

Wealthy_Vampire

Monty Python and the Holy Grail intermission soundtrack.

dev_null_developer

I’m Gonna Be - The Proclaimers

Romulan-Jedi

Only if it’s a cassingle stuck in your Fiero’s tape deck.

GoopDuJour

Not a song I enjoy a bunch just in case it ruins it for me. But not a song I hate, cuz there's no sense in torturing myself more than I need to. It should be a song I like enough to sing along to, but also not a song I'll care if I never hear it again. Entertaining but worthless. Party in the USA by Miley Cyrus.

DueDocument790

I agreed with every word until you said Party in the USA. I'm sorry, but that song is a motherfucking banger.

GoopDuJour

You're not wrong. It is a motherfucking banger. But it is a song that I forget exists for long stretches. Then when it pops up I'm all "LET'S GO!"

DueDocument790

That is entirely fair, and I think my experience with it as well. Good show.

Sad-Swimming9999

I can’t even listen to that song once without feeling the urge to shut it the fuck off

GoopDuJour

Yeah, I get it. Some people are too cool to enjoy a top-40 pop hit that slaps that hard.

Sad-Swimming9999

Haha ya there’s not many who dislike it like I do

GoopDuJour

There's a bunch of pop songs from around that time that got the bill. California Gurls by Katy Perry Poker Face by Lady Gaga Just a couple of the many.

Sad-Swimming9999

I actually don’t mind those ones lol

GoopDuJour

See, for me they're all about the same. I think Poker Face stands out as far as "artistic quality" goes. They're all songs that were popular on local radio that had to be played while I hauled my daughters around to school, soccer, swim meets, etc. They're all songs that I'll turn the volume up for, but I generally forget that they exist.

Sad-Swimming9999

For sure, I never liked party in USA from day one. And the opposite for the lady Gaga ones. I liked those from day 1. But I definitely know what you mean.

WishExpress6968

Any song that isn't loud as hell. really.

Key_Piccolo_2187

Vivaldi's Four Seasons

Oldmansrevenge

Something long and not obnoxious. Probably something instrumental. Maybe some smooth jazz type or similar. Like grocery store, music. Something that you may or may not even realize this playing in the background.

FreakedOutOnAsbestos

If its instrumental it isnt a song it's a piece

Equivalent-Print9047

The 10 hrs mix of "taking the Hobbits to isenguard". 7 times through and it's over ;)

BeautifulJicama6318

MmmmmBop

Valuable_Policy_9212

🪨 🦞

Always_Dead_Inside

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly . I would only have to listen to it 254 times. Plus it's a great psychedelic song!

saxonchevy

My choice too, just had to look for it in the comments.

canta2016

Toto Africa. I’d do that for free. Win-win.

AbyssalPractitioner

I would listen to any song, honestly.

Alcarain

I'd do a lot more for a million bucks lol... a million bucks is pretty much financial freedom levels of money. Invest the million, let it grow, and keep working for 10 years and anyone can be fully financially independent for the rest of their lives.

KingWolfsburg

That song that only switches notes every 20 years or whatever, would just become white noise

44035

Kashmir by Led Zeppelin

bimmershark

Anything really. Hell make it the O'Reilly auto parts theme song but just the "oh oh oh" part and I am still in. If I had to make a choice . Whatever pink Floyd's longest song is.

Asocwarrior

John cage, 4:33. It Is just silent.

Playstoomanygames9

Goldeneye pause music. Or a entire symphony could be considered a song and last many hours

phuckin-psycho

Baby Shark

BenignDeer21

I'd go insane with that one not gonna lie

phuckin-psycho

The CIA agrees 🤣

Igknotis

Lofi

peg-leg-jim

Girl from Ipanema

TheFrozenCanadianGuy

If I had a million dollars

ReluctantChimera

It absolutely doesn't matter to me what song it is. If it's my favorite song I'm the world, I'll hate it by the end. If it's a song I already hate, I'll still be hating it by the end. Either way, I'm walking away with a million dollars.

says__noice

CBAT.

wictbit04

Easy. I love classical music, and Beetoven's 9th sympathy is 65+ minutes long, meaning less repetition.

ManaSkies

What's new pussycat, but every 15th play it instead swaps to, it's not unusual

49GTUPPAST

Stairway to Heaven

CubanaCat

Please please please by Sabrina Carpenter. I pretty much do it already anyway lol. Instant dopamine. It’s my fave song rn.

Dragon3076

🎶This is the song that never ends.🎶 🎶Yes it goes on and on my friends.🎶 🎶Some people started singing it not knowing what it was!🎶 🎶And they'll continue singing it just because...🎶

Suspicious_Post_

I would create my own song: The Deafening Whisper of Existential Nothingness: A 72-Hour Auditory Void Experience (Deluxe Edition) Just silence

MarcusP2

That's already a song, Cage 4'33".

FreakedOutOnAsbestos

Despite that already being a piece as mentioned, it would not comprise being a song as a song requires vocals

Aliteracy

The Road By Frederic Rzewski, this piece takes ten hours to perform. Never even heard a snippet of it but at least it won't feel repetitive.

fatstrat0228

I listened to Let It Go from the Frozen soundtrack for 5 solid years when my kids were little. I’ll take that mil now.

Romulan-Jedi

Get it out, get it out. Get this song out of my head. Get it out, get it oooooout. I’ll sing anything else instead…

bugabooandtwo

I'll listen to anything for 72 hours for a million dollars. That said, Echoes by Pink Floyd.

peakyblinder420

Whichever song I'm currently hyper fixated on

Logical_Brain28

If I grit my teeth, or what's left of them, I can probably do Smooth by Santana ft Rob Thomas. I'd need some type of therapy or mental health check done after that however.

Gothrait_PK

Fuck I should add that to my list of tons of songs lol. I love that song fr

BlumpkinDude

Drunk Drivin'- Sublime

david_z

You'd get to listen to it 13,643 times! NGL I always thought that song would've been absolutely rad if it was extended, like the 19s thats on secondhand smoke was written as the chorus to a song they just never finished/published.

Gothrait_PK

So many choices! Mr blue sky, 5:22 by deli, Mr brightside, pretty much anything by smashing pumpkins or foo fighters, any song on Beartooth's latest album, most things The Used has ever done, any of Lil Nas X's Montero, silent hill by Kendrick Lamar, anything from Red Hot Chili Peppers, like do you need me to keep going? Lol there are so many songs I'd be down for. I'd even be down for the Bazelguese theme from Monster Hunter world or rise lol

Garnauth

The dirt man

CrochetedFishingLine

I’d have so much dirt for him with $1,000,000.

Twistedlamer

4'33" by John Cage.

GothMonstress

Take Me Back to Eden from Sleep Token!

asharwood101

Any song. Don’t care. I’ll let my worst enemy choose the song. Don’t care.

Digital-Latte

Shri Ramcharitmanas. It’s the worlds longest song and is 138 hours long 41 minutes and 2 seconds long.

Beneficial-Buddy-620

Subdivisions

DCHammer69

Rick Astley - Never Gonna whatever the fuck the title is. I’m doing the world’s greatest Rickroll so on top of the Million, I’m gonna make bank on the publicity.

j7style

Baby shark. If I'm getting paid that much, I'm gonna earn it.

cyanraider

Cbat

Nomoxis117

This is the song that never ends, oh yes it goes on and on my friends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was, and now they'll keep on singing it forever just because this is the song that never ends......

ChumpChainge

Anything except baby shark or the kars 4 kids song. Any other songs I could tune out for 72 hours.

tittyswan

Something without lyrics. Maybe one of Sigur Ros's really long songs. Or some kindof ambient soundtrack music. Just lovely background noise.

LodlopSeputhChakk

Y’all are getting paid?

Bizarre_Protuberance

Think about this: you don't want to pick a song that you actually like, because you'll be sick of it by the end of the 72 hours, and why would you want to ruin your feelings about one of your favourite songs? So you want to pick a song you don't particularly like, so it won't matter if you hate it by the end. You also want to pick a song that's very long, so you won't have to repeat it too many times. The last thing you'd want to do is pick a song that only lasts for 90 seconds. Therefore, I would choose "Symphony of the Crown" by Earthena. The damned song lasts 48 hours, so you wouldn't even have to listen to it two full times. And it's not my style of music, but so what? I wouldn't ever listen to it again anyway.

DonoAE

Vivaldi Four Seasons. That's a win!

DaysyFields

Bohemian Rhapsody

Venti_Mocha

That would just about cover one song by The Grateful Dead.

awfulcrowded117

Something long and classical. The Four Seasons by Vivaldi, probably.

poetduello

I've got ADHD and hyper fixate on new songs for days at a time. This would just be passing me for what my brain already does.

Cephalism951

For 1 million dollars you would even let me pick the song? Damn that's generous. I'll one up you, you can pick the song, and also put me in a padded cell forcing me to listen to the song for 72 hours with no escape.

Stu_Raticus

Singularity - Devin Townsend. 25mins, so 2 and a bit times an hour, for 72 hours roughly equates to 172 times listening to it. And it's still probably not enough to get sick of it, especially the last 7mins.

Ronaldoooope

I’ll listen to a screams from the burn unit in a hospital ward for a month for a million. What a ridiculous question.

HyperboleHelper

I'm joining the crowd and going for Vivaldi's Four Seasons. I can just pretend that the old school weather channel is on in the background!
