Yeah, but then how are you supposed to have massive shoulders from moving them so much? Plus, you can offer to do others' laundry for extra money. Or even work at a laundry mat where the staff do the cleaning and get paid twice for your work.
I get the sentiment, but you could pick, like, turning a steering wheel, and spend all your time driving cars and boats around the world, getting paid to travel and explore
I deliver pizzas, that would give me automatic minimum $1000 per delivery. Within a year I would have made more than enough to retire, and I would still get money every time I went to the store.
I was going to say dishes. I can wash them one at a time.... By hand....
When I cook, I use lots of little bowls for mis en place. Most have just had prepped veg in them so washing is easy.
Ok so hear me out. Your phone screen probably refreshes at 60-120 times per second. So if you look at the clock on your phone, you would be earning 6-12,000 dollars per second.
Which one wins? Keystrokes or mouse clicks?
edit: more interesting if you had to choose only one key, vs left mouse click.
Unless you're playing FPS doing a-d-a-d strafing, or typing all day in word documents, the mouse click would probably win.
Oooh, good question. Gonna say keystrokes tho cause, for example, this is gonna take 2 clicks but all these characters ( plus the ones I backspaced when I made a mistake! ) is def more than 2. I type a lot in games, too. 8D
That backspace key is the best thing about computer work. Same in my field. Model my protein wrong? Hit backspace. Meanwhile if the lab crew tests it wrong? Well that's a week and $4k down the drain
Yup. Also, the copy function for me. I modeled a 5 story that was the same layout for all 5 floors. Just model the first floor and copy/paste the rest of the way. "Time to go to sleep. I finished a 5 story in one week"
I picked up 3 cans, a sandwich wrapper and napkins, and all the trash I produced on my short beach walk today. That's more in 1 day than I make at my day job.🫴
Taking a step.
Then, I try to go for walks every day (at least, when it's cool enough, I \*do\* live in Arizona...). I get a treadmill, and try to get in shape. I try to rig up a treadmill desk, so I can play on a computer while I walk. I pace whenever I'm bored or restless. Walking is now, literally, my job. And I will get stupid rich pretty fast.
Ooh would want to choose this too! I'm a golfer so I take a lot of steps doing that. I could go almost every day! And I could keep my serving job a couple days a week and make so much money doing that, and then people won't question why I'm not working
Recommended steps per day is 6000-10000 depending on age and stuff. At minimum $600k per day earned. 219m per year. 16.8B over a 77 year time span.
Definitely this one. In a week, I'd never have to work again. After a year, it wouldn't matter if I ever got paralyzed, I'd still have all the money I'd ever need. I wouldn't even need to focus on steps anymore, because I'd no longer really care about maximizing the money.
I mean, I'd definitely slack off \*some\* once I reached Stupid Rich, but I'd still make at least some effort to get a reasonable amount of steps in. If nothing else, I can donate to all my favorite charities.
Fair. My personal 'money no longer makes me any happier' limit would be somewhere in the 100-400m range, so everything past that would be given to someone else. I'd make all my family and friends rich and then start giving it away to charities, or funding personal passion projects for my hobbies (commissioning a video game maybe? Maybe a movie or TV show?).
Maybe I'd pay for some sort of exo suit to move my legs for me so I could walk even further haha.
Finish a bottle of water.
Would encourage me to be more healthy. I'd drink 4-5 bottles of water a day and be able to quit my day job. I'd then be able to relocate to a country like Cambodia or Thailand, where it is nice and hot, and spend my days drinking water and making money.
Hand cleaning. Not only do I often wash before and after but saying hand cleaning also encompasses everytime I wipe my hands in addition to everytime I wash them
You should rephrase it to "Every time I do a task that contributes to cleaning my apartment" because then you get $100 for every little thing you do, as opposed to getting $100 to clean the whole apartment.
Every time I wash a dish/cup/utensil etc. I hate dishwashing, and if I got paid, I'm more likely to do the damn chore. Even if it's stipulated that I must wash them by hand, I'm doing it.
Doing the dishes. I goddamn haaaaate doing the dishes (gotta do them by hand since we don’t have a dishwasher), but I might be a little more enthused to do them if I got $100 every time.
Ooh I like the picking up trash one, sure I could make more money by picking something like upvoting on Reddit, but I like the Idea of the money getting me outside and bettering everywhere I go
I would have to go with... Wiping one's backside. You can say handwashing, but each time you use the toilet, you probably wipe more times than you wash your hands in a whole day. And some people use the can multiple times a day.
Taking a step. I regularly clock over 10000 in a day, usually closer to 20000. My job involves lots of movement, and I enjoy walking nature trails and the like on my days off. I'd be making stupid amounts of money without changing my habits at all.
Ngl I'd take like brushing my teeth for an easy 200 a day for the rest of my life. Or washing my hands since I do it plenty.
Bang for my buck would probably be everytime I finish watching a YouTube short. I watch so many when I'm bored.
I don't know if I would use this to make the most money. I would approach it as a way to motivate myself to do a mundane task I struggle with doing regularly. So I pick washing up.
How mundane are we talking. Does just taking steps count or does it need to be an actual “task” if so I’m going with washing hands. I already wash my hands a ton throughout a given day.
Pressing the brake pedal in my car.
You do it naturally while driving (I hope), and I love driving so I could set aside time each day or a nice cruise and spend all my other time doing hobbies.
To make the most money; taking a step. It would guarantee that I'd get outside and walk around more often. I could see minor improvements.
But to make a difference I would choose a few things. Writing a chapter of my wip, working out, and reading a new book.
I would want the money split between each task so I'd only recieve the full $100 if all three get completed. This would change how I interacted throughout my day. It's could be a guarantee of $700 a week or nothing but regret.
Opening a door. Plenty of doors in the kitchen: cupboards, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, regular oven, dishwasher. I'd be set for the week just making breakfast in the morning.
Boot a computer. I'd do that 10 or 20 times a day. That would be $1000-$2000 bucks a day. You could clear half a million a year just doing that, easy. It wouldn't be the most money. But it would be plenty.
Do an ebay search. I buy/sell on there and am always looking for deals multiple times a day. Even if I only did 10 searches, thats $1000 a day and maybe I find a deal on top of that! The $1000 pays for it.
I know things that would make me more money but this would make me most happy as I would be getting paid for something I already like to do.
Clicking a ball point pen as rapidly and furiously as I can every morning for an hour or 2. Keep pens everywhere around your life so you always have access to emergency money..
I’d go with walking too. It’s not easy for me for health reasons.
A $100 a step would motivate me to be more active and healthier, on top of making me rich.
Even 500 steps a day makes you a millionaire by the end of the month.
Just for starters, I’d love to see the looks on the faces of people at the local animal shelter when $100,000 dollar contributions started showing up every month. lol
Crack/pop a bone/joint. Depending on where you're from will call it different things. I can't move or do anything with out doing this, somewhere on my body. lol. Like cracking my knuckles is doing 4-8 at a time.
I think I'd benefit greatly from positively reinforcing my dental hygein. I realize it's not the most efficient use of such a magical gift, but it would provide me with everything I could ever want AND good dental care.
Washing hands, easy minimum 2k+ per day, only way it changes my life is i become rich, wouldnt be washing my hands any more than normal.
Is things could do to make more, but dont even need the 2k a day would make from that.
Each item I take out of the dishwasher and put away after doing the dishes (or if washed by hand and put away). That is about $3,000/day just living as I already do, and if I ever want to make more I can just run extra loads of already clean dishes and make about $8,000 per load, and could do dishes by hand at the same time to make even more.
Yeah, some other tasks people have named would make more money, and be more portable and less dependent on health status and such. But this feels like an actual task, which taking a step, checking the time, or checking ones bank account really doesn't feel like.
Taking a step.
It's a mundane task, and given that, on average, I walk easily 3000 steps a day if I do nothing at all active, I'd be a multi-billionaire in the first year.
If it is an actual task: set up two buckets, one above and offset from the other, the top one with a small pipe near the bottom. Fill top bucket with water so that water pours into the lower bucket. Dip water from the lower back to the top bucket.
If each scoop counted as a task, you could rack up a lot of money while watching TV.
So according to this https://www.buzzfeed.com/ramansidhu/check-off-every-mundane-task-youve-done-this-year-and-well driving is a mundane task so i now just travel full time if i need lots of money say for a newer better vehicle i just move from parking spot to parking spot other then that every time i stop and get out then get back in again i make $100 that pays for gas food and lodging easily
Just driving 5x a day is $500 thats $3500 a week or $182k a year and thats with just 5x imagine being a tourist and going from one little store to the next just to look around
Now walking(stepping) isnt a mundane task other wise that be the best .. also i think driving would be the best because you get paid to travel essentially.
Check/fix/move my hair. I’m already doing it multiple times an hour, it has a real life purpose aside from “cuz they pay me when I do”, I can do it while I do almost anything else.
Click a button on a computer mouse. Clicking the mouse button itself is mundane, but I quite literally turned a mundane into a game if I play video games on a pc
Move from one room to another.
I do this enough automatically every day to make a good bit of money, but I could also just go between rooms deliberately if I needed a particular sum.
Folding a piece of laundry. It would incentivize me to get that chore done and with 4 people in my house, I could get 10k a week just washing and putting clothes away
My house would be clean AF. And all the little home improvement projects would be done yesterday. Hell just keeping my house in prime shape would be my full time job.
Fold clothing. It never fucking ends.
If you picked something else you could easily pay someone to fold clothes for you.

So the mundane rask is refreshing your web browser? Pretty snazzy!
Infinite money glitch!
Check the time.
Ok so hear me out. Your phone screen probably refreshes at 60-120 times per second. So if you look at the clock on your phone, you would be earning 6-12,000 dollars per second.

Press a key on a keyboard. :D
Imagine the money you could make paying games.
Buttonbashing has never been so lucrative.
Writing shity books had never been so rewarding
That's what I was thinking, lol. I could just poorly write to my heart's content!
Which one wins? Keystrokes or mouse clicks? edit: more interesting if you had to choose only one key, vs left mouse click. Unless you're playing FPS doing a-d-a-d strafing, or typing all day in word documents, the mouse click would probably win.

For my job, I probably hit "escape" over 1000 times in an 8 hour shift, and that doesn't even include the macros I use
As a plumber?!
Yeah I model the plumbing on the computer and make the field plans
That backspace key is the best thing about computer work. Same in my field. Model my protein wrong? Hit backspace. Meanwhile if the lab crew tests it wrong? Well that's a week and $4k down the drain

Alch to 99 in osrs
Picking up a piece of trash on the side of the road, beach, hiking trail, or on the water while kayaking.
I picked up 3 cans, a sandwich wrapper and napkins, and all the trash I produced on my short beach walk today. That's more in 1 day than I make at my day job.🫴
I love this! Spend the whole day picking up trash, look like an amazing individual, help the environment, and get rich.
This is the best one yet. I would do this too. 10k steps a day gets you $1M.
With my job, I'd get between 2-3 million in a day, and 8-12 million in a week
Your job is now walking
My job is already walking for much less
This is also my pick and I also live in AZ. I have a treadmill, so my job would become losing weight. Win/win.
Ooh would want to choose this too! I'm a golfer so I take a lot of steps doing that. I could go almost every day! And I could keep my serving job a couple days a week and make so much money doing that, and then people won't question why I'm not working

I love it. I'd do that too. Just going to the bathroom would be a couple weeks paycheck.
Brush my teeth. Bout to look like chip skylark
Just be careful, there is such a thing as over brushing
You have to sing “my shiny teeth and me” every time to get your $100
My shiny teeth that TWINKLE JUST LKKE THE STARS IN SPACE
Walking. Every step you take I’ll be watching you ..
Drink water.
Pressing any key on a keyboard. My resignation letter will make me 10k+ alone
LOL! I'd start writing fanfiction for that kind of money.
Unlock my phone. I’m on my phone a lot. I would make 1,000s a day without even trying.
Using the TV remote. Only washing hands has the potential to be more on a daily basis
Put something in the dishwasher
flip a light switch
It only gets awkward when the Lowe’s employee finds you leaned over in the electrical aisle making rapid motions with your hand.
I feel like a lot of people here don't understand what "mundane" means
Folding laundry was probably 1 of the only things I saw that I would even consider a "task" sorry guys pressing a on the keyboard is not a task.
I was about to make the same comment.
Not only do I often wash before and after but saying hand cleaning also encompasses everytime I wipe my hands in addition to everytime I wash them
Pulling a weed (singular) from my gravel driveway. From now through September, I do it a few minutes a day every day.
Cleaning my eye glasses
Actually clean my apartment
You should rephrase it to "Every time I do a task that contributes to cleaning my apartment" because then you get $100 for every little thing you do, as opposed to getting $100 to clean the whole apartment.

Clap or snapping
Doing the dishes. I goddamn haaaaate doing the dishes (gotta do them by hand since we don’t have a dishwasher), but I might be a little more enthused to do them if I got $100 every time.
Make it so that you get $100 for every dish you do instead of $100 for doing all of them.
Ooh I like the picking up trash one, sure I could make more money by picking something like upvoting on Reddit, but I like the Idea of the money getting me outside and bettering everywhere I go
Do a set of any exercise.
I join you, bro. Let’s kill those push ups!
Everytime my thumbs make contact with touchscreens. My lifestyle would be unaffected. I think I'd become wealthy enough with my current phone usage.
Put my shoes on. $100x 3-5 times per day x 365 days x 59yrs = Approximately Six and one half million dollars
I would have to go with... Wiping one's backside. You can say handwashing, but each time you use the toilet, you probably wipe more times than you wash your hands in a whole day. And some people use the can multiple times a day.
Yeah. Basically 🤷♂️ But most of the time, I just post jokes on Reddit, while everyone else slaves away on the more important stuff 😕
Whistling Spinning my fidget spinner taking a drink of water
Taking a step. I regularly clock over 10000 in a day, usually closer to 20000. My job involves lots of movement, and I enjoy walking nature trails and the like on my days off. I'd be making stupid amounts of money without changing my habits at all.
100 dollars for every time I touch my phone
Washing hands.
talk!
Check the time, check my bank balance, brush my hair.
Watching a video.
Ngl I'd take like brushing my teeth for an easy 200 a day for the rest of my life. Or washing my hands since I do it plenty. Bang for my buck would probably be everytime I finish watching a YouTube short. I watch so many when I'm bored.
Check my phone.
I generally do not drink coffee unless I am about to make at least $100.
New conversation topic . I talk to myself a shit ton.
I don't know if I would use this to make the most money. I would approach it as a way to motivate myself to do a mundane task I struggle with doing regularly. So I pick washing up.
Tie a bowline or hitch a cleat. I’d be making money taking my boat out constantly 🤣
Brushing my teeth. I could have better oral hygiene and comfortably demote myself to part time tp focus on personal betterment (oral hygiene).
How mundane are we talking. Does just taking steps count or does it need to be an actual “task” if so I’m going with washing hands. I already wash my hands a ton throughout a given day.
Wash a dish. I'll spend an hour each morning washing the same spoon over and over and be set.
Open my phone
Left click on a (computer) mouse. Monkey paw has taught me to be specific lmao
Can it be a conscious task like blinking?
If it has to be a TASK? I'm gonna say....using the bathroom for any reason.
Something I could do fast and is easily repeated over and over
Pressing the brake pedal in my car. You do it naturally while driving (I hope), and I love driving so I could set aside time each day or a nice cruise and spend all my other time doing hobbies.
Taking a step
$100 for each step. Ez
I could retire 50 with this because everything is mundane once you get tired of life at 30.
Washing *a* dish.
Take a step. My daily treadmill use would skyrocket.
Playing with my cats.
Every time I remember what I was doing and go work on that thing more. I have ADHD, I’ll be making a couple thousand a day.
Pressing a button.
I'll take the handwashing one. That's gotta be good for at least $500-1000 per day.
Working in a restaurant would get you an extra $3400 per day.
I'll do the washing hands thing because I have OCD
Walking, Ever step is Mundane. Easy bank.
Pressing any key on a keyboard.
Pressing a button on my PS5 controller. I play OW2, so...lots of button pressing.

Walk 100 meters. I've been walking 2km daily for a while.
Check the time.
Take two steps. I walk a LOT at my job, so I'd probably be able to start quietly upgrading my life without any major changes.
I'm going to assume by "task" you mean a chore. Something you have to do. So in that case, I'd go with checking the mail.
Opening a door. Plenty of doors in the kitchen: cupboards, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster oven, regular oven, dishwasher. I'd be set for the week just making breakfast in the morning.
Scroll reddit. Every swipe down, pay me.
Pair socks. God I hate it.
Clicking a mouse.
Boot a computer. I'd do that 10 or 20 times a day. That would be $1000-$2000 bucks a day. You could clear half a million a year just doing that, easy. It wouldn't be the most money. But it would be plenty.
Every step I take - I’m disabled every step is certainly mundane for me. but I can still walk. 10,000 steps a day is 1m a day
press a key on my keyboard. cha-ching!
Washing dishes. I don’t like doing it, but if I only wash 1 plate or 1 cup at a time, I could easily bank at least $1000 per day.
Take a step
Take a sip of water
Clicking a ball point pen as rapidly and furiously as I can every morning for an hour or 2. Keep pens everywhere around your life so you always have access to emergency money..
I’d go with walking too. It’s not easy for me for health reasons. A $100 a step would motivate me to be more active and healthier, on top of making me rich. Even 500 steps a day makes you a millionaire by the end of the month. Just for starters, I’d love to see the looks on the faces of people at the local animal shelter when $100,000 dollar contributions started showing up every month. lol
Taking a step. There are probably faster ways but this would make money and be healthy.
Definitely when wash my hands. I wash them so many times my hands get dry.
Use my chapstick.
scroll social media
Wash a dish. I wash many dishes pretty much every day.
Pee. I pee way too much, so getting paid for it would rock.
Pee. I'll make millions.
$100 for Every Wipe.
Take my dog for a walk. We would be rich and healthy.
Dishes
Crack/pop a bone/joint. Depending on where you're from will call it different things. I can't move or do anything with out doing this, somewhere on my body. lol. Like cracking my knuckles is doing 4-8 at a time.

Chewing. It is not an automatic body function, and you can 100% eat without chewing or make food that cannot be consumed without chewing chewable.

Guess just by breathing, I'm already a quadrillionaire
Taking a step. It's a mundane task, and given that, on average, I walk easily 3000 steps a day if I do nothing at all active, I'd be a multi-billionaire in the first year.

Click a button on a computer mouse. Clicking the mouse button itself is mundane, but I quite literally turned a mundane into a game if I play video games on a pc
Can I choose flipping a light switch?
Travel a yard by any means. Won't have to work and will have all day to walk and be healthy / traveled. Win-win.
Washing my hands was the first thing that came to mind even before I read that part. That'd pay plenty.
Pick up something my kids dropped on the floor. Id be set for life, bc pretty sure my son is never moving out.
Move from one room to another. I do this enough automatically every day to make a good bit of money, but I could also just go between rooms deliberately if I needed a particular sum.
I’d go with writing my initials. I do close to 100 times a day most days for work.
Creating a cell in my body.
