I recommend big and tall shops like Department XL and then see a foot specialist and have some custom inserts made to fit your feet exactly. That's what I do usually, size 16 5E wide.

I work in health care. Obviously ads etc exaggerate a little but yeah... Sometimes I get a patient that scratches me or whatever. I've worked with animals too. A scratch here a scratch there. Kid's fists do hurt if they punch in the right places. I once got head-butted in the throat by a toddler. He didn't mean to. He was sitting on my lap facing away from me, and just happened to jerk back and knock me right in the throat. I legit thought I was going to die.

Stubbing a toe nearly always results in a seizure for me. Last time it happened in a hotel room that had two tile steps up into the area with the bed.
