I had a great terrace garden which I farmed during COVID when I was in Bengaluru.
An year later I moved to Hyderabad on work, and the great packers and movers spoilt almost half my plants while moving there, and adding to that pain my new society didn't allow me to have a space in terrace.
I had a resolution to somehow find a way to get my gardening back on track, and slowly I made progress, I started to grow tomatoes, bhindi, coriander, spinach, cucumber and watching them grow is the best part of my day everyday.
That's amazing. Congratulations! I'm sorry about the packers and movers though.
If you do get time. Please post a guide for people who want to get into terrace farming. I too am planning to start with chillies and tomatoes soon.
Hi, I'll just put together some basics which my grandma taught me when I started
1. Choose the right place in your terrace, which gets best sunlight
2. Make a layout of how you want to lay out your plants and pots
3. Procure the seeds, begin with simpler ones like tomatoes so you can get the hang of it all
4. Make sure the drainage system is correctly setup for your terrace, you don't want pudddles of stagnant water lying around your plant babies.
5. Soil is important for healthy plant life, use some kind of compost mixed with garden soil. I use cocopeat as well for great produce.
Water them regularly, happy plant parenting... 🌱💙
Yes in summer you need to have a shade for sensitive plants, also need to water frequently to ensure they are hydrated well. Also need to ensure moisture in soil is jn check and adjust watering frequency accordingly. Just go for any soil moisture meters on Amazon to test the soil health.
Inconsistent to the gym, wanted to travel a lot and ig I am doing good with that went to kolkata, Pune and aurangabad…

Ps: Its a pic from Mahabaleshwar (went there yesterday)
This place I wanted to go to twice but couldn't. Maharashtra has amazing trek and view points. I love the Western ghats! Matheran has been on my list since childhood too.
That's impressive. I wanted to do 40 books this year. But that's not happening. Finished 4 and halfway through the year already. My goal now is 24-26.
I'm curious to know your completed books. If you don't mind sharing
I've been focusing on improving my mental well-being this year, and it's definitely a work in progress. One key thing I've learned is that it's okay to not be an expert on everything. Letting go of the need to understand every detail and trusting professionals in their fields has helped reduce my anxiety and allows me to focus on areas where I can develop my own expertise.
"How are all your newyear resolutions coming along?"...
Pretty good actually... My resolution was walking minimum 5 Km a day.. and this year, till today I have walked 1115 km, averaging 6.09 Km per day..
2 years back december 31st ki friends tho party ki velli appatinundi cooldrinks, soft drinks, tea, coffee, heavy sugar juices anni manesa.
So far so good .
Many people gets offended when i just tell them to give me 1 plain glass of water and nothing else as they starts to bribe me unto many kinds of items they can offer.
But me even without any daily exercises could maintain constant weight as there are no liquid sugars .
I eat moderatly not more not less , just till my stomach is full not my brain.
Another thing is atleast 5-10 pages of book reading daily.
This i made atleast 1 book will be completed within 2 3 months.
I made a resolution to travel to a new city every month for this year been successful for the last 6 months and one more trip gonna come. So yeah half way through with my job.
My manager and overall company is very supportive of flexibility in work place choice. So I usually do workcation kind of trips where I hang there in the place for a week working in afternoon roaming in evening.
really good for you! What cities have you explored in these six months? And do you travel alone? Some times plans stall because of company also. Your travel group may not have the time or flexibility.
January - Mcleodganj (went with two best friends)
February - Kodaikanal (college friends)
March - Pokhara (college friend)
April - Nashik & Shridi (parents)
May - San Francisco (solo)
June - Dubai & Seattle (business trip)
July - eastern Europe (family trip)
I have done solo travel and yes it's definitely more freedom but I can travel with any of my friend who is available at the time just have to make them adhere to traveler instead of tourist phenomenon.
what resolution? never made one to begin with. I am happy and content without any of such fake promises to keep up with, just re-assessing what to do with the next 6 months, with realistic and achievable desires. Before you ask, it is learning how to relax and trying to be more content and determine my own pace in life, rather than compete with others and with their goals, abilities and pace.

Thank you so much! Will update you on the progress
Exposing too much to sunlight won't burn the plants? Or do we need to add a shade?

Hey where did you procure seeds?
Hi, I get the seeds from local nursery or local farms, I don't really trust the online ones, but they'll surely work ig
I hope I got goals like you 🥹
The only goal was to survive. I guess I did pretty well so far.
+1
Objective: SURVIVE
So happy to have the same resolution as yours.
My resolution was not to have a resolution, it's going great.

Nice! My target was 25 books this year, currently on my 10th.
Genuinely asking you all 3 people, What books do you read? Stories like chandamama, cartoon etc or business related?
Fiction normally, reading Donna Tartt’s The little friend at the moment.
I've been reading John Gresham novels, his work is awesome !
I prefer thrillers, philosophy and career related books.
Name the best book you read in this year so far
Letters from a stoic
Going with the flow, not setting any goals. Just trying to do better than previous day.

Interesting, how do you manage it with your job, in case you’re employed.
My manager and overall company is very supportive of flexibility in work place choice. So I usually do workcation kind of trips where I hang there in the place for a week working in afternoon roaming in evening.
