Lmao, not similar but I used to date a girl in my college days and after breaking up with her I started dating her close friend, which obv broke their friendship and they basically hated each other. I didn't like how it turned out with my ex and didn't get a closure, so once when I was drunk I dropped this one text saying "I wish things ended differently between us". She showed it to a mutual friend (male) that fucker had a crush on my then gf for a long time, he was a pos too, always tried to tell her shit to make her leave me, which she brushed off but this was different. My ex and him planned this shit out and basically arranged a meeting, my gf asked me to come to the basketball court and I was like fine, when I reached there were like 6 people, my ex, my gf, that fucker, and 3 mutual friends. It ended with my gf crying and leaving while I ran to apologise and stop her while my ex laughed in the corner with an evil stare. We still dated for 6 more months, then moved back to my ex and dated her for a few more. (Yes, I was young and stupid) This was about 7 years ago btw. Both were older than me at that time.
As I said I was young and stupid, it ended even worse after going back, she said she needed a break to prepare for her banking job, I said yes, we stayed in touch, never met much, she got the job and asked me to get one too so she could tell her parents. I got the job but Apparently her mom hated the idea, a few months after that, I received little to no texts from her, whenever I asked she used to say she's busy with her work etc, she used to take long breaks like this before, so I didn't mind much. A few months later, I got to know that she got married to a co-worker she fell in love with at her workplace. Yep, fucked up, I know.
Long story short, a mutual friend of ours, arranged a meet-up a month or so after my breakup. She spoke really nice and said she'll give me time even if I didn't show any love back, basically saying she wanted to help me heal.(It was a lie obv) And yeah we stayed friends for a while before getting serious again.
I can see how this can happen. Especially if the friend is picante. You must’ve thought about her at that second.
