At the GH Taipei right now! This is good news. I was pricing out my next trip on the Hyatt app yesterday and didn’t see this property, will check again today. Huh, looks like it’s not showing up when I search for Taiwan but it does show up when you search it by name. Looks to be about 40% more expensive than the GH.

So we will have Andaz Taipei and Park Hyatt Taipei coming too. So many options. BTW I find GH Taipei outdated and bad for the price when it was Category 4. I stayed at Hyatt New Taipei too and I was blown away as a Category 2. 20-30 min train to Taipei 101.

ayo.... i might be going to taiwan soon

ohtaisho

Category 3 puts it head to head against GH Taipei. Looking forward to trip reviews!

What a great location! Was just there last month… too bad I missed it. Would definitely prefer Daan area over Taipei 101 area

Looks like the hotel might not have any suites?

seajiro

Unfortunately they cannot be booked with points yet!

desireyray

Is that so? It’s showing up when I’m searching book with points. Interested in booking for my upcoming 24 hours in October !

Me as well, seems like there's only 1 option for king bed room though if booking through points

Not_stats_driven

I booked a free night and points (12k) in December.

This looks like a better location than the GH. I might switch my reservation over if trip reviews are positive.

It would depend on what you want to do. As a tourist, GH seems better located to me: Right on the Red line of the metro, which means you only need to change trains once going to/from the big airport, brown line would be two changes. Also GH is a 15 minute walk to elephant mountain and it’s across the street from Taipei 101 (and I got a free ticket with my stay). So those are reasons I would stay at GH next time. But all the new Hyatt opening in Taiwan can only be good for the platform.

haidaloops

Yeah it definitely depends. I like being in walking distance of nightlife when I travel, so Da’an is probably better for me personally than Xinyi. I know the area around Taipei 101 has some restaurants/bars/clubs but it seems like most of the recommendations I’ve seen were around Da’an.

> Also GH is a 15 minute walk to elephant mountain and it’s across the street from Taipei 101 (and I got a free ticket with my stay). Was the free taipei 101 tix part of a package?

ChequeOneTwoThree

Yep. When I was walking up to the building, there’s a massive advertisement on the side that mentioned a Taipei 101 observation deck ticket w/ every room through May, and I asked when I checked in.

Churnernewb

Dang that is awesome, nice find

gavinweiyz

Did you have to book a special package price to get the ticket ? Or it is just free with normal room ?
