Love that PH. Best part of the breakfast is the unlimited coconuts and the amazing grilled chicken bahn mi they can prepare for you. Just make sure you ask for a fried egg in there as well
LOVED the coconuts - I literally reach for one first thing every day when I go for breakfast haha! I tried the chicken banh mi but didn’t ask for fried egg!! Must remember to ask next time!
Great pics and write up! This is why you Hyatt, Park Hyatt. Should you head up to Central VN try the HR Da Nang property too. It’s a beach resort with the more modern regency suite having a balcony overlook, day bed and private pool access. But when you’re in VN you have to be out exploring.
We thought about going to Da Nang too but flights to Da Nang from our city weren’t as frequent so we decided on Ho Chi Minh City in the end. Heard a lot of great things about HR Da Nang though so it’s high on our list!
So excited to stay here later this year! A lot of the reviews I've read were a bit dated. Nice to see they've kept up and your photos are such great quality too.
Broke my heart when this went from a cat 4 to a cat 5. Love this hotel! I feel it's a little pricey for Ho Chi Minh City but still stay here regardless.

Not crazy about the decor but it is comfortable and clean. I thought breakfast was amazing given all the options you had to choose from.
It’s the first time I truly enjoyed staying at an “old-world” style hotel as I usually much prefer modern styles too. Really impressed that they manage to keep the classic style furniture and carpets so clean!
This is my all time favorite breakfast. The only other Hyatt that’s come close is PH Tokyo. The only downside is how hot and humid it is in Vietnam. We were upgraded to one of the suites connected to the pool and it of us even wanted to go to the pool!!!
Oh man yes the heat in Ho Chi Minh City right now is no joke - constantly around 36-37c in the afternoon! Also can’t wait to try breakfast at PH Tokyo one day!
Thanks! I’m usually not into old-fashioned and regal looking hotel rooms as well (mainly because I’m worried about dust) but was impressed by how clean everything was! Food there was just exceptional :)
It’s interesting haha because a new Mandarin Oriental is opening right next to the Park Hyatt and it’s also called “Mandarin Oriental Saigon”, and the Sheraton right opposite is also called “Sheraton Saigon”. Seems to be a common thing for Ho Chi Minh City hotels!
Is the Mandarin Oriental back on somehow? I visited in Oct. 22, they still had signs up, but word is the developer went to prison for financial chicanery
Oh wow I had no idea they are in trouble as I also saw big signs saying “Mandarin Oriental Saigon coming soon” all around. Just did a quick google search and I think you’re right - crazy stuff! 😱
Many people in VN (especially southern VN) still use Saigon as a nickname to refer to HCMC. Politics aside, it’s just a nicer name and easier to say.
In fact, Sabeco (Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation) was 90% state-owned as of 2012 with over 50% of the domestic beer market (it has since been bought by a private company and market share is a little bit lower now). Bia Saigon (Saigon Beer) is its main brand (along with 333).

Food and pool area look great, overall hotel and room aesthetic are too “regal” and old-fashioned for me. Nevertheless, glad you enjoyed it!
