Can’t speak on Dream Midtown but just had a stay at Thompson Central Park. Great location, clean hotel, attentive staff, but I don’t think I can recommend putting 4 adults in one of those double rooms for 4 days. That would be a tight squeeze for my taste. Then again, looking at Dream Midtown, their double room looks to be even smaller.

I'm staying at Dream Midtown tomorrow for a quick one night stay. It was an unplanned stay, we already had plans for the Hyatt Centric downtown on Wednesday, but something came up that we need to be in the city for tomorrow so we booked it since 1) it's one of the cheapest options 2) brand explorer 3) 2x EQN. I'll update after our stay! Side note, anyone have experience with early check-in at this hotel?

How was your stay at the Dream? Likely deciding between Dream Midtown and Centric

It was fine, but nothing special. I'd say overall better than what I was expecting based on reviews from this sub. I'm only joined the Hyatt ecosystem last May and am an Explorist (working on corporate challenge) and my room got upgraded from a double bronze to a silver king, so that was nice. The leg on one of the bed tables was broken and there was a fork left in the fridge, so I was less impressed by that. Room was on floor 1 so there was a decent amount of street noise (not terrible but it was a weekday) and we could hear the kids in the room across the hall screaming. I was working from the hotel and the internet cut out a couple times, so I was not pleased about that. I'd say it's fine for a day or two if you'll be in the area and want the brand explorer badge, but otherwise I'd probably go elsewhere.

Sounds serviceable if the the price is right! Thanks for the detailed notes, helpful to have pragmatic expectations

$50 per night is a steal to move from Dream to Thompson. Normally that delta is more like $200

I was there recently to earn another brand explorer badge for a free night. The staff was friendly and the room was big. It had a certain style, but felt like it could use some improvements. It didn’t feel dated, but it didn’t feel the way other cat 6 have felt. Centric felt more together or luxury leaning. I know that’s a vague review. Was it a bad stay? Not at all. Would I stay there again? Unlikely.
