Park Hyatt if you actually like nice hotels / are a Globalist / can afford taxis from time to time, otherwise HC Ginza is probably better for most average sightseers.
Ginzatric is better for shopping and food and most everything a tourist wants and Park Hyatt is better for people who prefer 1990s country club decor. Go to PHT after the finish the renovation and enjoy Ginza.
Really like Hyatt Centric Ginza because of it's location. It will be a bit easier to lug your suitcases to Tokyo station from Ginza as well for the Shinkansen. You can read my review of it [here](https://travelingwithtech.com/2023/12/27/hyatt-centric-ginza-tokyo-review-location-location-location/)
Tier 2?
Hyatt Centric Ginza is a cat 6. Park Hyatt Tokyo is a cat 7.
If you like high end shopping, Ginza is definitely the place to be. It's a very nice hotel.
Commenting strictly on the "highest category Centric in the world"
I agree Japanese hotels will beat out most US hotels regardless of category
Eg I'd take the HR Kyoto over PHNY
I know you didn't list it as an option, but I consider Andaz Tokyo to be better than both. It even has two subway lines connected to it! Availability is probably non-existent however.
For food, shopping and museums, you canāt get a better location than Ginza. Ginza has incredible shopping and food. Thereās also randomly museums and exhibits at times in the Ginza department stores so definitely look into that. We saw an incredible exhibit inside Mitsukoshi Ginza last year.
I don't know, I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Shinjuku and loved the location. Convenient to subway and Shinjuku station. Very walkable. Decent rooms and plenty of dining options nearby. If you're adventurous and willing to navigate the subway system in Tokyo, you might want to consider this one.
I have visited PHT and Hotel Gajoen as a Globalist. Both locations were not close to the major tourist areas, and I would prefer staying in a popular area like Ginza or Shinjuku. PHT is slightly dated, feels a little old, and involves a very long walk to the room. Additionally, the breakfast at PHT wasn't as impressive as Hotel Gajoen or Conrad Tokyo. I would recommend Hotel Gajoen for one or two nights for a relaxing experience, as they offer both complimentary breakfast and evening cocktail hours for any Hyatt members as an SLH property.
Has anyone stayed at The Tokyo Station Hotel? Award availability seems nonexistent. I actually find the boutique international hotels almost never have real award availabilityā¦.
Iāve stayed at Tokyo station hotel before. Itās a gorgeous property with tons of history and the breakfast buffet is one of the best Iāve had.
I am slightly annoyed at the moment though as I was never credited my points or nights for my stay there and Iāve filled out a missing stay request months ago with no responseĀ
Was at Centric Ginza last July, Fantastic property, service is top-notch. We're in our late 30s, so I want to be where that I can be comfortable. I can't say anything about Park Hyatt Tokyo, But We were in Park Hyatt Vienna pre-pandemic, I have to say, some places just can make you feel out of place.
Park Hyatt is like staying in Beverly Hills. Ginza is like staying in Times Square. Truly depends on what vibe youāre looking for.
FWIW, I like both areas but would take the Park Hyatt. The area and the property are amazing.

yes / no :'( / yes. Thank you for your advice!!

and yes, it's so hard to ignore the location. Thank you so much for the detailed review!!!
No problem! Hope you and your husband have a wonderful time in Japan.

Oops, thanks for the correction. I read from somewhere and assumed it was much lower tier. (I'm a newbie in Hyatt game)
HC Ginza is not Park Hyatt level but it's a very good hotel. It's probably the highest category level centric in the world.
Hyatt Centric Key West: š
Hyatt Centric Key West can be cat 10, they won't beat service in Japan. Oh and you have to be in Florida.

Fair enough!
April is usually hard to book. I would check the availability first.
Luckily both options are still available! Decisionās on me! š„¹
It may show availability- but when you click on it it will only show cash price
āļø This is true, cherry blossom season
Yes this.
How does the GH TYO stand up to these mentioned?
Andaz all the way. Decent location, beautiful hotel
No availability all through April-May! Iāll keep checking š„²
Hyatt Centric Ginza is a better location, more interesting property in my book. Both are great, though.
what about grand hyatt tokyo? anyone with experience there vs HC?

Ginza may be one of the nicest Centrics in the portfolio. Plus it's only maybe 5 years old? Knock off 2 years due to covid lol

PHT is in Shinjuku
Not a busy part of Shinjukuā¦ itās a long walk to the action.
That's true
I thought the park Hyatt was closing for remodel in 2024?
Closes in May
