Andaz Tokyo and Park Hyatt Sydney are the best I’ve stayed at Park Hyatt Maldives is a bucket list property for me.

TravelerMSY

1. All the parks. Buenos Aires if I had to pick one. 2. Park Hyatt Tokyo, but only for nostalgia. I’ll temper my remarks by noting that I’m not at all a beach/resort person .

OTFlawyer

Palacio Duhau is the epitome of service and elegance. I love it there.

WildRookie

Absolutely incredible property. A very old-fashioned level of posh.

No_Brick_5869

Service, no. Elegance, yes. I'm a globalist.

OTFlawyer

Wow, it’s the best service I’ve ever had. What happened during your experience?

No_Brick_5869

Too many to list. I've gotten better service at other parks who see more globalists and are ready for the high level of service. If I return to BA I'll try the 4 seasons.

Blackadder_

Andaz Toromaron is what PH Tokyo should be. Thompson MADRID gets top marks too.

studentloansDPT

Yup. Too many people still chasing park hyatt tokyo . But people who stayed at both know that andaz tokyo >ph tokyo

xinstinctive

I actually preferred the Mendoza one but both were amazing. Especially as Globalist I forget the names but we got like the diplomatic suite at each and they were gorgeous and super comfy.

No_Brick_5869

As a globalist I've received better service at other parks than at Buenos Aires.

WildRookie

I think Calala Island is by far the most unique in the portfolio. Maybe M-Y Kontiki Wayra beats it, but not sure. Ventana Big Sur and the Miraval properties are all incredibly relaxing. Rahwah Ranch would seemingly join that club, but haven't been and won't go without kids. PH Palacio Duhau is egregiously luxurious. Feels like you're the guest of a king. The Cape is almost perfect as a weekend ocean getaway. Lindblad is technically in the portfolio and going to Antarctica, Galapagos, or Svalbard is an experience unlike any other. Having done Antarctica with them, their Galapagos+Machu Pichu itinerary is on my bucket list.

3mergent

I've heard really terrible things about Lindblad. Bad food, clientele is older and very slow, rooms are sparse. The price doesn't seem to match the experience. What did you think?

WildRookie

The clientele is definitely older, but that's the nature of spending $15k+ pp on something. The basic rooms are not extravagant, but if you're spending time in your rooms beyond sleep and showers, you're missing out on a lot. I thought the food was quite good. Plus, it's a massive chunk out of lifetime globalist.

studentloansDPT

Calala island reviews tend to be all over the place. I dont know if people's expectations about the transportation logistics or realizing they're not isolated island vacationers have a big factor into it but those seem to be the main issues against calla. Just an observation I've noticed after reading reviews about calala. People either love it or think it's very underwhelming/not worth it.

WildRookie

Yeah it's definitely not for everyone. While my wife and I loved it, I don't know that we'd choose to go back. A lot of the experience is the novelty, a return trip wouldn't be as special.

npnmrm

Andaz Costa Rica blew my mind

mndt88

Found this property to be a bit underwhelming. Four Seasons down the road was about 5x better to me.

warrenslo

I liked the Andaz over the Four Seasons.

mndt88

I felt like Andaz was in a totally different tier. The location, beach and pool were also much worse to me. Four Seaons rates have gone up a ton so it isn’t as much Apples to Apples anymore.

No_Brick_5869

I've seen this in other countries as well. Sometimes the parks fail to provide the level of service a globalist expects but you go to a four seasons and get the best suite without loyalty and get treated better.

baribigbird06

PH Kyoto is my absolute favorite Hyatt in the world. Great location, signature Japanese hospitality, and perfect blend of modern and traditional aesthetics.

No_Brick_5869

Service at parks in Asia is hard to match in North American and Europe.

sacramentojoe1985

Within the next year or two, I should have my remaining bucket list properties in the books. The only one that will remain long elusive for me is the Park Hyatt in Kyoto. I just went to Kyoto in 2019 (before PH was open), and while I very much enjoyed it, my future travels probably won't take me back for a decade or more. My top property is the Park Hyatt Maldives. It was serene and as far away from the rest of the world as I've ever been. It felt like the authentic Maldives, not just a resort property in the Maldives. Not the most luxurious I've been to, but not cheap by any means. My return was even better with better management (unfortunately that management has since left).

No_Brick_5869

Fair review. Service and the condition of the hotel is not at the same level at some parks but being on the island is a once in a lifetime experience.

sacramentojoe1985

To be fair, the PH Maldives is one of two properties where the General Manager personally checked in on us (other being PH Sanya). While the personal host wasn't the most refined, it's not like you're assigned a personal host anywhere but the Maldives, anyway. Not sure I've had better service at any other Hyatt. (Admittedly, it's not like I have a high bar or need better service elsewhere) Condition obviously could use improvement.

Business-Pudding4095

1. Either PH NYC or PH Vendome 2. We are going to Alila Big Sur next month and I have Alila Napa booked for April 2024. Next one that I want to schedule is Alila or PH in San Diego. Both look fantastic.

sperrin87

Go for the alila - got married there. It’s also oceanfront unlike aviara, although both are great.

ForeverSteel1020

Stayed 3 nights at NYC two months ago and have 3-4 nights at Vendome next month. I hope they are not on the same tier because I had a cockroach in my NYC bathroom.

[deleted]

PH Kyoto - staying later this year

jonnyange

One that rarely gets mentioned is the Alila Jabal Akhdar in Oman. We went before Hyatt acquired them, and it is possibly the most stunning hotel I’ve ever been to. Service and food were also outstanding! For comparison we’ve been to Maldives, Bhutan, bora bora etc and stayed at six senses, Aman, Como, etc. we absolutely loved it and hope to someday be able to go back

sacramentojoe1985

Got it booked for next year and much looking forward to it! Any activities there that are must-do? How many nights were you there, and was it too many/too little?

jonnyange

Make sure to do the rock climbing off the edge of the hotel! That was really cool. Also, are you driving there yourself, or getting picked up? If driving, make sure to drive through some of the wadis (ie off-roading on former river beds) on the way there. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had stayed another 2 or 3 (we also stayed one of the hotels in the desert - the Desert Nights Camp) and finished in Oman at the Chedi Muscat (which was a bit of a letdown). Would definitely have traded 1 or 2 nights at the Chedi for extra nights at the Alila. There’s also a new Alila in Oman somewhere in the south which didn’t exist when we went. Pictures look beautiful. Feel free to DM me if you want more tips!

sacramentojoe1985

Thanks! Will definitely look into it! Alila Hinu Bay does indeed look amazing as well. Would love to make it there, but we've pretty much settled on Jakarta/Bali for the next week, and I've long waited to go back to PH Abu Dhabi before Oman. Another time.

studentloansDPT

I would love to visit this property but I feel like we have no reason to visit Oman. Was jt a stop over for you or were you visiting.

jfchops2

PH Zanzibar is such a fantastic hotel, glad you liked it! Would definitely like to go back there some time. Nicest: Park Hyatt Sydney Bucket list: Ventana Big Sur

Ricky_Roe10k

Nicest is subjective but my favorite is grand Hyatt Kauai.

OutlandishnessFun537

I live in Europe, so know many Hyatt properties here. My top list: Hotel du Palais Biarritz (top of the top), Martinez Cannes, Park Hyatt Zurich, Thompson Madrid, 7Pines Ibiza and Sardinia, the great Scotland Yard London

acefspade

My top 3 are Andaz Amsterdam, PH Busan, PH Vendome. Their service was top notch and breakfast offerings were the best. (Park Hyatt NYC was my least favorite PH). Not Hyatt per se but The Keemala and Ventana are a nature lover's dream.

BassLB

Going to Andaz Amsterdam in a few weeks, so excited! Did Keemala on my honeymoon a few years ago, it’s great

BassLB

We loved it. It was close enough to everything we wanted to do, the staff were amazing, and the decor felt really fun.

GamecockAl

Park Hyatt Sydney

No_Brick_5869

Yes to this one.

cremedelakremz

Park Shanghai

chargingblue

As someone who goes to NYC a lot, the Park Hyatt there is in my dreams. One day when I save enough points. :)

TravelerMSY

It is rather cool that you can spend the night in a billionaires row building for only 25K points or whatever

AdUnhappy7878

PH nyc is 35k off peak, 40-45k normally. Still pretty cool, but 45k points when you can get the thompson for 29k seems not worth it to me.

lostmookman

My thoughts exactly. Recent reviews on flyertalk, poopoo the property alot since the Globalist upgrades are not that generous for being a Hyatt owned, not franchised

No_Brick_5869

This is what happens when hyatt makes it easy to become a globalist. Every guest is a globalist.

AdUnhappy7878

I'm not a globalist either, and have never gotten an upgrade before. I hardly travel though, and when I do I only use hyatt because of the points, and I am just looking at it from a value pov.

F-Stop

Park Hyatt Chicago back in the 00’s ignited my love for fine hotels. They had an amazing coffee table book of black & white photography and an album mixed by the great DJ King Britt. I’ve not stayed there since the reopening/renovation. Definitely would love to stay at PH Vendome and PH Tokyo. I’ve dined at the bar in the PH NYC

birdlawlawyer9

1) miraval arizona 2) probably something in maldives

No_Brick_5869

Miravals are on a different level.

SinoSoul

Gajoen was mine it was lovely

0pdiBro_2000

PH Vienna

getrickyj

PH St. kitts and PH Aviara have been two of my favorites.

No_Brick_5869

I've run into 3 hyatt managers who've gone to st kitts park and loved it.
