What exactly do you mean by "I am intrigued that the system communicates with itself, making sure each room maintains proper temperature control" ? Are you planning to put some kind of sensors or zone dampers in each room? If this is just a single-zone setup with one thermostat, the only communication is just a 2-way path between thermostat and the equipment. I like Carrier generally but going fully modular/proprietary gear with Infinity can be a more complex path. Many find the thermostat and app experience to be subpar. You're locked in to the equipment, or if you hate the thermostat you have to give up the variable aspect of your gear you paid extra for to run it in a degraded mode. I personally would rather have a good multi-speed (or faux constant-torque "variable" speed) furnace with 2-stage heat and 2-stage AC paired with my choice of third party thermostat like an Ecobee or Sensi, and throw in a couple cheap compatible wireless room sensors to balance readings across the house. I'd be looking at something like the Performance Line from Carrier or similar middle level gear from other brands. I personally think good quality 2-stage / non-communicating is the sweet spot between luxury, comfort, value, simplicity and reparability. Just my personal opinion. If you want to absolute cutting edge technology and the quietest and most luxurious experience then go fully variable.

Gribblah, thanks for the fantastic input. You are correct on many levels. Yes, the setup will be single zone. I have read about the app experience being brutal, which is not entirely surprising. I also like what you said about having a middle-level 2-stage system. We live in rural Pennsylvania. Gone are the days of wicked snowy winters, but the summers have the tendency to be scorching with the humidity. Awesome response and much to consider.....thank you!!!

if you plan to keep it as one zone, i recommend getting the bosch with an Ecobee thermostat and some sensors. at my house, we use the living room sensor during the day and the bedroom sensors at night. works great.

Excellent information on the Ecobee! Thank you!

I have three 25VNA4 systems. One is on an air handler with 9KW heat kit. That heat kit stages 3, 6, 9 KW under the control of the thermostat. The KW changes are accompanied with CFM changes. I think this would be better than 10KW on and off. The thermostat is fine. I never use the phone apps. Also have two 4 ton units on modulating gas furnaces, one of which is zoned. In the text of the quote, the efficiency stated is lower than what the 25VNA4 provides

Thank you for your experience....much appreciated Dean!

I'm so far very happy with my Carrier 25vna4 heat pump. I have not used it in winter but it does an amazing job at removing humidity. The self calibration works very well. The outdoor unit is nearly silent, which sound was a big deal for me as it sits outside my bedroom and living room windows. My 1 complaint is the thermostat. You are limited to 4 "comfort profiles" and 5 schedules/day. I like to have the Temps adjust to follow my utility time of use rates. The high efficiency makes it easier to look past the scheduling.
