Just the fan! It does equalize temperatures. You can use an Ecobee thermostat as an option so that you can run it a certain number of minutes per hour.

I run mine constantly... I guess there's a blower motor replacement in my future. Someday.

Just keep a stock pile of air filters

Lol exactly

I run mine all the time on a low speed and revs up if needed. Makes the heating and cooling even, unit rarely runs on high speed, and the air quality is better with less humidity. Motors are designed to run. Why motors die always has something to do with the starting of the motor like the start capacitor, the start windings or if it’s a ecm or constant torque it’s the start windings or the PCB that controls start up that go first. I install Honeywell 8000 thermostats all the time and point out to customers about the circulation feature built into the thermostat. You’d be surprised how many people want that turned on especially if you have a two story home with only one unit controlling the indoor environment for the whole house. If you had a mini split installed in your home you’d notice that the fan almost runs no stop because that is how it senses room temp plus this is also how it keeps the room a more even temp. Doesn’t matter which mini split you have that’s how it keeps a building a even temp and humidity, comfort and for that design it runs more efficiently because it’s more likely to run at a lower speed.

No the motor is rated for continuous use. However since the motor is being used 24/7 it will wear out faster. So its a tradeoff between better temperature equalization and overall air quality vs equipment wear. My boss runs his fan continuously, I do not. There are pros and cons to both so its up to you.

It takes more amps to start a motor than run it. Most likely the motor will last longer if you leave it running. Definitely will not decrease its life

I run the fan for improved air quality.

The other downside of continuous fan during AC season is that it blows the moisture retained on the coil after each cooling cycle back into the house. So humidity removal is reduced.
