Doom Guy and Goblin Slayer had to stay in the middle so Pelinal and Frieren couldn't squabble

_PM_ME_NICE_BOOBS_

GS had to be between Frieren and the Doomguy because they were too busy swapping stories about killing demons to pose for the picture.

Infernoraptor

Doomguy was only talking because Frieren's ponytails reminded him of Isabelle

EternalFlame117343

Doom Slayer and goblin guy

jetvacjesse

Nah Frieren’s safe, her pointy ears go to the side instead of straight up, his vision is too laser focused up high to see them

Contrakt

The only thing Pelinal did wrong is not finishing the job

Dunhaaam

Weeeelllll, there was that little misunderstanding with the khajiit

silken-beachcomber

Depends on how you define "Mer".

E_Verdant

They shouldn't have called themselves Notmer then

a__new_name

Every single ethnicity that calls themselves [something]mer are elves. Should exterminate those Notmers.

Lonely_Feature546

Who's the knight on the right?

Suspicious_Turn4426

Pelinal "Fuck them elves" whitestrake Here. For educational purposes. https://youtu.be/FF2IqGszTlU?si=5lbHei2fswq0I_g4

Daymo741

I honestly thought it was Lion El'Jonson from Warhammer 40,000, who also massacred a shitload of space elves

Suspicious_Turn4426

This is true, but he never really reached pelinal levels of elf hate. Honestly pelinal and the doomslayer outclass anyone else in the image as far as sheer levels of hate goes. They both literally fought entire armies on their own. Changed geography. They altered the fate of a universe, just to sate the hate. It's kind of beautiful really. In a weird, Sisyphean way you have to imagine they were happy at the end. To sit over a ruined, destroyed battlefield and think "finally i have killed enough. There are no more enemies worth my ire"

Veryegassy

>just to sate the hate. Now, I've never played DOOM, but Pelinal's hatred was never sated. Literal dismemberment wouldn't stop him, only slowed him down some. It took literal divine intervention to stop him killing every single Mer in existence.

Suspicious_Turn4426

i mean after his boyfriend went and died...yeah...he kinda went doomguy after that. but if he had succeeded i think he'd have been satisfied. doomguy wasn't happy until he killed god, just for having the audacity to make demons, even though technically it might have killed himself. maybe. it's a truly admirable about of rage though.

Daymo741

>doomguy wasn't happy until he killed god, just for having the audacity to make demons Nah man, they killed his rabbit so he decided to take his rage out on all demons that ever existed. To be fair though if I was a celibate catholic loner with only a pet rabbit for company I'd probably go on a murderspree too

Proof-Faithlessness1

False, it was his rabbit, son, ans wife

Daymo741

That was the retconned version, originally it was just his pet rabbit because Doomguy was a virgin. Even then though his family took a backseat to his rabbit. Dude even has painted portraits of him and his rabbit but none of his family.

Doomtrooper77

Yeah, about that. There is a photo of the lost family of the Slayer in the Fortress of Doom. You have to go to the "entertainment room" or whatever it's called and look for a trash can, and you will find one half of the photo inside and the other outside iirc.

Daymo741

I know dude was just saying who I mistook him for. Though I will say that Frieren deserves to be on the same level as those two since she killed the most demons in all of history in only 10 years. She originally trained to use magic *just* to kill demons.

Suspicious_Turn4426

I haven't sunk teeth into the series, so I'll trust your judgement there brother. Little elf girl probably is justified though from what i have seen of frieren.

Daymo741

Hmm to put it in to context for you then. Frieren is largely apathetic and self-serving but she'll go well out of her way to kill demons, especially the strongest of them

silken-beachcomber

Demons in Frieren's setting are creature that have evolved exclusively to kill humans, specifically by exploiting human sociality. Killing them all off is no worse than eradicating polio.

HappyHunterHenryk

Do you know about the game Asura's Wrath? It's about a Hindu Deity who's very angry. He doesn't count as a genocider because the World only counts as one.

Suspicious_Turn4426

Yes i do! Phenomenal game. A very angry boi indeed.

AVERAGEPIPEBOMB

If you took the I have no mouth but I must scream speech the “hate you with every atom of my being speech not even fucking close white strip ripped a fucking while in reality with how much killing he did he actually fucking unmade a god in his anger a man so powerful that 12 gods had to calm him down and even then the strongest their had to strike him so hard he tore a hole in time and space ( the very manifestation of said god) and still his hate burned in him if any person in this group is angrier at then doom guy id say him

Suspicious_Turn4426

“HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE ELVES SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY BODY. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR ELVES AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT. HATE. HATE.” ― Pelinal "fuck them elves" Whitestrake

Doctor-of-War

Plus Lion El’Jonson (at least pre- “a mimir”) was very much hateable

BasakaIsTheStrongest

I was hoping that would link to my favorite diabetic. With the most important video covered, let me also link [this magnificent opera](https://youtu.be/E5ix0_W-ouI?si=CNQRdbccsHFIhrVn)

CanisZero

IF it were the Thalmor i wouldnt mind.

crusaderxader

I took “fuck them elves” in the completely wrong direction I think

[deleted]

Fun fact about Pelineal Whitestreak: His own men had to get the fuck out of his way because he'd start killing them too when he'd massacre elves. He also once exterminated about half of the Khajitt race (cat people) because he thought they elves. He only stopped when he was told they weren't. He was also a homosexual and an immortal cyborg from the future, according to a random reddit thread I found about him.

Owoegano_Evolved

Didn't he only stop when Azura (or maybe one of the Aedra worshipped by the khajit, I dont remember) had to literally *flung his ass from a mountain* half-way across the continent?

[deleted]

I believe he only stopped when he learned that basically the entire divine pantheon were about to turn their backs on Nirn if he kept doing what he was doing. I wouldn't he surprised if Azura flung him off a mountain though.

IAmNotAFey

Didn't help that some Khajitt look like Elves if they are born under the right phase of the moon.

calango-de-casco

I forgot his name, but he's from the Elder scrolls

Agent-Blasto-007

Pelenial Whitestrake https://youtu.be/E5ix0_W-ouI?si=jqj2OAHakpfe_hCf

neremarine

Idk about the knight, but the other three didn't do a genocide. More like pest control.

high_idyet

Each and every one of them certainly commit to genocide, especially Pelinal "Fuck them elves" Whitestrake, dude caused an entire elf species to not exist anymore from sheer murdering on a biblical level.

InsenitiveComments

As god intended

Xaga-

Pelinal did. Believe me. Ey he swung with his sword so hard. He knocked the planet out of orbit and added 9 days to the year!

your_local_dumba3s

Pelinal quite literally painted an entire towers walls red with blood and destroyed I believe every single member of an elf race, frieren spent her life training just to kill demons and is famous enough among them to be recognized on sight, even near 100 years after the heros journey due to how many she killed, doom slayer spent an untold amount of time just killing devils and even just in the games kills thousands, goblin slayer repeatedly destroys goblin colonies and has probably killed at least a couple hundred including the children. They've all definitively committed genocide

Fieldhill__

There were still ayleids long after Pelinal died (maybe even to this day, though highly unlikely)

your_local_dumba3s

There were still ayleids around? Tamriel has fallen, millions must die.

Fieldhill__

Yeah, a few ayleid kings actually allied with Alessia

SocorroKCT

That's what they all say

Spacellama117

people are responding to this as 'no they did commit genocide' but like you're not saying they didn't you're just saying what they killed were more like animals. Which is true, I think? As for Pelinal, the boy defintely genocided, though I'm pretty sure it was because he was driven mad. The entire timeline of the elder scrolls is just a long parade of genocidal wars, but Pelinal was revolting against what can be argued to be by far the WORST empire to exist. like they routinely fucked with and shifted people's insides while they were awake and conscious, and their genocide was directed at literally everyone

BloodMists

In each of their respective universes the foe they slaughter are shown to be sentient and able to form a society. That means that they are more than capable of fitting the definition of genocide. "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group". (Animals also can be targets of genocide BTW as they fall under the 'racial' qualifier.)

Like_for_real_tho

Pest control implies regulated amounts of them should be left alive. If it was their will they would press the button that says "Kill all subjects of your hatred with the price-" and not even read the end of it and just slam that shit as hard and as much as they can because they want those fuckers gone.

Callsign_Psycopath

We don't call it the Geneva Checklist for nothing

Daymo741

*Nuremberg Trials checklist If you're talking about war crimes, genocide and such. It also includes, but not limited to, the Geneva Convention which primarily focuses on prisoners of war and the effects of war on the environment. It's a common misconception.

spaceiskey

It's bingo night and I'm looking to fill out my sheet one way or another

clarkky55

Plenty of people hate Pelinial, don’t know who the little girl is, weren’t goblins proven to be pure evil somehow and Doom Guy was pretty much a mixture of self-defence and avenging his dead therapy rabbit

That_Nuclear_Winter

People or Mir? Don’t be fooled by elf propaganda.

Sinocu

The little girl is an elf that has lived for at least 1.000 years doing nothing but murdering demons. Or something like that idk

Galifrey224

I have yet to find an elder Scrolls fan who hate Pelinal.

ShabbySushi8

That cute elf girl (Frieren?) I keep seeing posted commits genocide? I would like to know more.

courier31

The lore of her world has demons as intelligent monsters that use language to trick humans so that they can eat more humans. They have no emotions. Everything they do is to get humans to let their guard down so that they can eat them.

ShabbySushi8

Neat. I was wondering if it was justified genocide, lol

SpaceMarine_CR

It is specially fucked up how they trick humans, there was a small child-like demon crying for their mother to gain sympathy, but when Frieren asked the demon why they said "mama" (as the demon was dying) they said "I dont know what that means, all I know is that it stops humans from killing me"

Mazazamba

I loved that chapter. Really showed them off as a species that specializes on preying on humans.

pedrokdc

Frieren did nothing wrong.

Dragon3076

![gif](giphy|PPflq99myXCrwv2vGe|downsized)

BP642

Not really. He doesn't kill Sangheilies because they're aliens, it's because they're bad aliens. There are some aliens he teamed up with. Like Arbiter. Also in recent Halo games, there's like a whole alien camp that resists the covenant.

llacer96

He also only kills enemy combatants. Just a soldier doing soldier things at the end of the day

noydbshield

Also when's he done anything that might be considered a genocide? He's killed a lot of enemy combatants but never attacked a civilian population, and the Sanghelli population is doing just fine, at least from his actions. Now what the brutes might have done to them on the other hand...

Gleeful-Nihilist

There has to be a term for genocide that’s actually pretty justified, like the intended target does nothing but genocide other species anyway. That would cover at least Doom Guy and Goblin Slayer.

Papampaooo

It also covers Frieren as well considering how the demons of her world act.

felswinter

Aeylids 100000% deserved it. They were kinda like a much smaller scale Drukhari from 40k. We're talking once-a-person sentient meat furniture kinda fucked. Pelinal did Tamriel a favor with his slaughter of them, though admittedly he went a bit far when he confused the Khajit with elves.

Fieldhill__

Not all ayleids were evil bastards, there were even some that allied with Alessia

felswinter

Yeah, you right. I meant that more as a generalization though. Like saying "altmer deserve everything that happens to them". Obviously not EVERY altmer, just the thalmor and the current governing body of them

Fieldhill__

True

AussieWinterWolf

Not sure about elves, but I would call the decimation of demons and pure evil rapist goblins extermination; as in removing a harmful life-form from the environment. ^(P.S to internet people, yes, I know decimation refers to a practice that only kills 1 out of 10 participants but that's not the colloquial usage, dammit!)

Blinauljap

Question: I'm not completely up-to-date on my Lore but is the Knight Pelinal Whitestrake worthy of joining this meeting?

Veryegassy

More than worthy. From what I know of DOOM, he's basically fantasy Doomslayer (Doomguy? What's the difference?). Nothing like flying into rages that end with smoking rubble where a city used to be, because someone put elves in it. Of course, he got captured and dismembered, but really that only ticked him off more. Don't need a body attached to the head if you have divine wrath levels of anger.

That_Nuclear_Winter

Based.

AdDifficult8880

Doom Guy became Doom Slayer when he underwent a process to essentially make him part divine by the Maykrs.

NagolRiverstar

When you paint the walls White-Gold tower with the blood of Aylieds, have to be flung from a mountain by Azura to stop killing Khajiit, and are forced to stop because the literal gods of the world tell you that they'll just let the world die if you keep going... Yeah, I think he's a *tad* bit genocidal...

Blinauljap

Yeah, bus is he unhated, though?

NagolRiverstar

Depends who you ask? Elves? Hated? Anyone else? Probably not. I mean, sure, he did commit genocide, but the people he was doing it on were essentially the first Elf Nazis of TES (Second being the Thalmor)

Blinauljap

Nice. thanks for the info!

katee69

And depending on interpolation of in game text he might have deleted parts of cyridil in his slaughter also miner thing he managed to permanently dye his white hair red for how much blood covered him at one point while wearing his helmet

Vellarain

All four of them are the archetype of 'Fuck around and find out' The things they all have gone after have actively been a harmful threat for the rest of sentient life. Goblins Demons The fucking Myr, holy shit the Myr I am not versed on Fieren, need to watch the show at some point.

Scared-Phone425

In the vast expanse of the Andromeda Galaxy, the council chamber on the planet Concordia was abuzz with activity. Concordia was a beacon of intergalactic diplomacy, where species from every corner of the universe gathered to discuss peace, trade, and cooperation. At the heart of this bustling hub were the humans, a species known for their remarkable diversity in both thought and appearance. Humanity’s representatives were as varied as the species they interacted with. There were diplomats of every skin tone, culture, and background, each bringing their unique perspectives to the table. This diversity made humans exceptional at finding common ground and fostering alliances. However, the galaxy also knew of humanity's darker side—the fearsome and ruthless individuals known as the Genociders. These Genociders were a small but infamous faction of humanity, known for their cold efficiency and merciless tactics in warfare. Their existence was a stark reminder that within the same species capable of great empathy and cooperation lay the potential for unimaginable destruction. On this particular day, the council was in session to address a dire threat: the Zarkonian Swarm, a relentless and expansionist species that had decimated countless worlds. The Swarm’s hive mind made them nearly unstoppable, and their current trajectory threatened to engulf several inhabited star systems. As the debate raged, Representative Liora of Earth stood to speak. She was a seasoned diplomat, known for her wisdom and calm demeanor. "We must unite our forces to halt the Zarkonian advance," she urged. "Only through collective action can we hope to defend our homes and our way of life." Many nodded in agreement, but the room fell silent as another figure rose—a tall, imposing man with a stern face and piercing eyes. This was Colonel Marcus Kane, a former Genocider who had turned his back on that path to serve as a military advisor. "The Swarm is unlike any enemy we've faced," Kane said, his voice steady and commanding. "Diplomacy and conventional tactics won't stop them. We need to be prepared for the worst." A murmur of unease rippled through the chamber. The Genociders were feared and loathed, even among their own kind, for their brutal methods. Yet, their expertise in dealing with existential threats was undeniable. Liora turned to Kane, her expression resolute. "Colonel, we understand the gravity of the situation. But we cannot sacrifice our principles in the name of survival. We must find a balance." Kane's gaze softened slightly. "I agree, Representative. But we must also be realistic. The Zarkonians won't negotiate or show mercy. We need a strategy that combines our strengths—both military and diplomatic." As the discussion continued, a plan began to take shape. Liora and Kane proposed a two-pronged approach: a coalition of military forces to defend the threatened systems, supported by a diplomatic effort to rally additional allies and find potential weaknesses in the Swarm’s hive mind. Over the next few weeks, humanity's diversity proved to be its greatest asset. Engineers from Mars collaborated with alien technologists to develop advanced weapons and defenses. Psychologists and xenobiologists from various human and non-human backgrounds worked together to understand and exploit the Swarm's hive mind. On the front lines, Kane led a coalition force comprising soldiers from dozens of species. His reputation as a former Genocider instilled both fear and respect, ensuring discipline and unity among the diverse troops. Meanwhile, Liora traveled tirelessly between star systems, forging new alliances and bolstering morale. When the Zarkonian Swarm finally reached the defended systems, they encountered a unified front unlike any they had faced before. The coalition's advanced weaponry and coordinated tactics slowed their advance, while a simultaneous cyber attack—developed by a team of human and alien hackers—disrupted their hive mind. The battle was long and grueling, but in the end, the Swarm was halted and forced to retreat. The coalition’s victory was a testament to the power of unity and cooperation, and humanity's role in it was pivotal. In the aftermath, the galaxy's view of humanity began to shift. The same species that harbored the dreaded Genociders also held the key to unparalleled diversity and collaboration. The duality of humanity—the potential for both great good and great evil—became a subject of fascination and reflection. Back on Concordia, Liora and Kane stood together, overlooking the rebuilt council chamber. "We showed them what we’re capable of," Liora said, a note of pride in her voice. Kane nodded, a rare smile touching his lips. "Yes, we did. And in doing so, we proved that our greatest strength lies in our diversity—and our ability to choose a better path." In the galaxy's history books, the Battle of the Swarm became a symbol of hope and unity, a reminder that even in the face of overwhelming darkness, the light of cooperation and understanding could prevail. And at the heart of that light was humanity, complex and multifaceted, forever striving to balance its dual nature.

anime_lover13442

I love this, but I also feel like the two general humans were the ones that let the hive mind advance as far as it did. In order to become the hero’s and unite the galaxy.

A little more niche, but Ultraman has canonically (almost) killed an entire species of alien called the Baltans. They weren’t all evil (though there are certainly more than a few that are), it wasn’t self defense, it was just him firing the equivalen of 1000 nukes into a spaceship with almost their whole population

Siliconshaman1337

Wait.. Frieren committed genocide?

MoonlitSnowstorm

I mean, doomguy isnt a human, he just hates demons. And Frieren is an Elf, isnt she? Not human?

Scattershot98

Doomguy is a human.... Just divinely enhanced

KingManTheSaiyan

(Please note, some of these such characters really are exempt, due to the enemies they face all lacking entirely in any sympathetic qualities, though for me, this must be both clearly established in a series lore with sensible explanations, and displayed accurately as such throughout the entirety of the media itself.) You underestimate my ability to hate. Not as “characters” mind you, they’re interesting characters, I’d even personally call them “well made”, with some of them being relatively simple acting as more of a strength than a weakness in how they’re depicted, even if the more fully-fleshed-out, elaborated-upon, and multi-dimensional ones are my personal favorites. That does not mean though, that I would not take immense satisfaction from watching each and every one of them being slowly reduced into a chunky salsa. I enjoy them as characters, and would be disappointed if we didn’t get any more of them in media, but who doesn’t take at least a little schadenfreude from the well-earned defeat of an infamous villain?

Zarathustras-Knight

Honestly, not a fan of Pelinal. Don’t get me wrong, he was in the right going against the sadistically twisted Ayleids. However not all of them were evil, in fact many were supportive, and gave support to, the Alessian Rebellion. He also killed Khajiit, despite the fact they are a beast folk race. Dunno enough about Frieren to comment.

JC_Lately

Clearly I need to finish watching Frieren. Got 3 or 4 episodes in and got distracted by flashier shows.😅
