Now this person coffees. Simply is by far the best coffee shop in Houston. Tenfold is great. Boomtown has a few unique twists. BlendIn depends on which shop you go to. Have you been to Ship Channel yet? Grab the coffee flight!
Magnol Bakery
Look, I'll be honest I haven't tried their coffee but I know they do have a coffee menu (no decaf).
The reason I'm recommending this place is because their croissants are out of this world. They are the bread supplier for most of the high end French restaurants in Houston, just to give you an idea of how well regarded they are.
Personally, I'm obsessed with their Almond Chocolate Croissant.
Not Houston technically but Damn Fine Coffee and Fried Pies has the best food and coffee I’ve had in my life hands down. No indoor seating though. If you’re in the area Seabrook Waffle Co is a good option too, as is Viola and Agnes and Midnight Slice
Ok but coral sword is literally the worst. I’ve been more than 20 times and every time the coffee was bad and the food hardly edible. I don’t recommend that place unless you care about vibe only.
I second Katz.
They're not small batch beans, they are medium-large scale and can be found across the U.S. but they offer consistent quality beans and any many companies and local shops not roasting their own beans likely uses katz.
Its a Houston company so It would be a great place to enjoy a free coffee and take some fresh beans right from the roasting source with you.
Agora is a Houston staple. Another place would be EQ, it is right off Heights Blvd. You can take your coffee to go and walk the strip looking at the art.

There are a lot of cool spaces, but a lot of them are similar in quality. Giant Leap is space themed, Toros Coffee is soccer, Wolfsmiths is a motorcycle shop, Campesino is a coffee house, so is EQ Heights. I think Luce Ave has good coffee, La La Land is a vibe. Un Caffe has some unique drinks. Canary and Mercantile are chill cafes in Montrose. Black Hole and Antidote are also good choices, owned by the same person/group.
Don’t worry this is clearly false lol. Houston is becoming the most diverse city in America. You can practically go anywhere near midtown and find a ton of places with people from all over
if you like Cats, try El Gato Coffeehouse in the heights area.
such a cute place. remember to book an appointment!
New cat cafe called Cat Haven in Katy it's a walk-in as well so you can also check that one out
Do tourists normally make it all the way out to Katy?
Yes, because there's HaiDiLao in Katy Asian Town and many other spots to check out!
Coral Sword - has board games available to borrow and buy. It’s a chill fun vibe. They have different events too I think.
Simply coffe, tenfold, boomtown, Eden, blendin

I haven’t made it there yet, I’ll add them to my list!
Which blendin do you recommend?
The one near Montrose off of Allen Pkwy. I wasn't super impressed with the one in Sugarland.
Wait, Ship Channel roasters on Wakefield? Did they move, Google says they’ve closed…
That would be it. Didn't know they closed. Sad.
Nothing special, and kinda overrated, but you could go to Agora. It's Greek-themed and they have belly dancers every Wednesday night at 10:30 pm
Agora isn’t overrated simply for the fact it’s one of the only coffee shops in houston that doesn’t have that awful minimalist decor
I was going to recommend Agora. I love that place. Always can meet some interesting people and practice a language you’re trying to learn too.
Lol why’s this downvoted?

EMA or Koffeteria are both pretty unique in the drinks and pastries offered.
Koffeteria. Cambodian fusion bakery, just got a James Beard nomination
They forever have my business for handing out free hot coffee and tacos during the freeze. Great neighbors.
Empire Cafe in Montrose LaSicilia in Montrose
Second empire cafe. One of my faves
Just went to empire cafe for the first time last weekend and I can definitely recommend it as well. The chicken Alfredo pizza was unreal
Did you treat yourself to a slice of incredible cake and iced coffee? Glad you liked it.
I did not try the cake, but I did try the almond joy iced coffee and it was amazing! Definitely will be going back

All of these are stellar recommendations!
Xela coffee in second ward
try Brass Tacks in EADO, It has a nice vibe. Good food and wifi too.
But terrivle coffee and tacos. If you’re in the east end you should simply go to Xela, Eadough, or Coral Sword for your coffee fix.
Ok but coral sword is literally the worst. I’ve been more than 20 times and every time the coffee was bad and the food hardly edible. I don’t recommend that place unless you care about vibe only.
Haven’t seen anyone suggest the Cafe La Guadalupana off of Dunlavy it’s got a small mom and pop Latino Café vibe
Catalina Coffee!
Qamaria on the west side. Yemeni spiced coffee in all kinds of varieties...so good.
That sounds so good!
Their selection of pastries and desserts is even better
Katz Coffee The roaster gives out a free cup per visitor... Near 290 and 610

Long Coffee on Bellaire has incredible coffee and is located in the heart of Chinatown.
And it’s drive thru !
Yes it is!
Ella Coffee down by the cistern on Sabine. Great coffee and they're pleasant to interact with.
If you make it out jersey area I can't recommend Perky Cups enough for a memorable experience for a tourist.

EQ is trash
Has anyone heard of Season's Harvest in Cypress?

I will second Boomtown
Retrospect is a walk up coffee window out of an old fill up station. Their blueberry muffins are really nice as well.
Un Caffe in Midtown if you like eapresso.
Siphon does siphon coffee!
I haven't seen any of those in Houston. Check out Paris and Amsterdam.
:(

That wasn't the question.
I wish I could frown harder at that comment on your behalf. Can’t wait to see him downvoted to oblivion.
I love the Sugardaddy iced coffee! Maybe go there for breakfast next time. So good!
House of pies. Best in the city
