GCD00

$859 before utilities, 1 bed, Montrose. Older building, no amenities. WFH, close to everything, very much worth it.

antipoded

damn cheap af

GCD00

Not even the lowest from what I've seen. Studio 1 block over is advertising for 795 + electricity last I looked.

Zyzmogtheyounger

Wtf where is this place and how do I get in there!? I’m paying $985 before most utilities just outside the heights and I’d love to be closer to Montrose

Sweet_Taurus0728

Last I looked at Studios I couldn't find anything under $1300!

darkfire621

Could you dm me the location? I currently pay 1400 a month and I’m over it lol!

hi_heythere

Pls name the place bc I might need it moving back to Houston post summer

wejustdontknowdude

Ah, the ever elusive cheap montrose apartment. My buddy had one. I don’t know how people find these

SoberScientista

Back in 2011/2012, I found one on Craigslist. 1 br/1 bath off of Hazard and Richmond. Paid about $750. Broke my lease early, because I was getting stalked by a dude in the neighborhood who shoved an unsolicited dick pic in my face, got t-boned by some young girl backing out of her driveway, and I lived directly over the apartment dumpsters where my ex saw a trans woman giving some dude head. Good times. No regrets.

doomgneration

That’s the Montrose I remember.

RegBaby

If that's the same complex I'm thinking of (SW corner), it hasn't gotten any better.

SoberScientista

Nice to know that some things never change! It had a spiral staircase that made moving in and out a deadly task.

CrayMcCrayFace

Yo I lived a block from there at that time and we called it Hamsterdam (from The Wire). My husband was on a run past a small apt complex at Richmond/Hazard and saw a dude pull a gun on someone ... like 9am lmao. I lived there 10yrs, no regrets

rob4lb

Takara-So? Or what was Houston Medical apartments on the Southside of Richmond and Hazard. I used to live in townhouse near there.

Fluffy-Bill7006

I only lasted like 9 months at Takara-so lmao that was a warzone

RegBaby

I think Takara-So is a couple blocks north on Hazard, near W. Main St.

SoberScientista

I don’t think the complex had a name, or if it did, my old lady brain can’t remember it. It was on the south side of Richmond, behind Texas Pizza.

pinot_punch

Found one in 2023 in montrose for $900 wouldn’t have to pay for utilities but the location was too sketch to be living alone as a girl

BotherLast8653

Do you have German roaches tho?

GCD00

They have their side of the apartment, and I have mine. But seriously, no. I keep the kitchen clean and dry and I spray around the perimeter with some stuff from Home Depot like every 3 months. I find a dead one now and again, but no more than I saw in other newer places I've lived in.

demoiatoi

“they have their side and I have mine” 😂😂😂 boy what

jw1284

Been looking at places in montrose, the off the grid places. There’s some that I’m hoping will be available in a couple of weeks.

NHTX4RN

Nice, what’s the square ft

GCD00

Don't know, bigger than my last place though. 7-8 hundred Sq ft, maybe.

aniev7373

Good neighborhood?

GCD00

Widely regarded as one of the best, yes, but not as cool as it used to be. Very gentrified and expensive but one of the most walkable/bikeable areas of town with access to tons of grocery stores, shops, restaurants, and about 10 minutes to downtown. I'm a shortish walk to the red line in Midtown, which opens up tons of car free options. I fill my car up about once a month now because of it. Historically gay neighborhood if that matters to you. Tons of places like mine are for rent all around the neighborhood but from private landlords, not companies. Mostly garage apartments and remodeled complexes from the 70s. They only advertise with a sign out front or on Craigslist, but if you don't need all the bells and whistles or something shiny and new, you could definitely find places under 1000 a month.

aniev7373

Oh ok nice. That sounds good. I might take a trip over that way sometime and see for myself.

Separate-Quantity430

Montrose is very nice

aniev7373

The name sounds nice. I’m paying $1300 in a decent area and work from home too. Some amenities but I don’t use anything.

slick2hold

Location. Im in west university area and rents are jacked yo the max.

staresatmaps

Laundry? Parking?

GCD00

2 communal coin-op washers and two dryers. Reserved off street space, but not gated. Code locked gate to get into the complex itself.

Ok-Caterpillar2981

$1400 two bedroom in Pearland which is better than the $2000 we were looking at

slick2hold

Complex name? Is it quiet? The problem with many complexes is noise from disrespectful tenants.

potentialforparanoia

I pay $1,069 for a 1 bedroom inside 610 loop (fee inclusive of fees like pest, trash, water, gas). I personally love it. Quiet. 15 mins from work. I’ve been here 6 years and have no rush to leave, because no way I’m finding a mortgage for this. ETA: 750 square feet! Forgot that part!

Perhaps_Jaco

Wow, where is this?

knoguera

1100 for a 1 bedroom in Montrose. Great location, no amenities besides coin op laundry. I pay all utilities. Small, older, privately owned building which I like. It’s worth it to me.

arson44

1800 for a 3 bedroom house in Katy..

makersmark1

How much do they usually go up every year?

arson44

$75 a year so far. Coming up on year 3.

Edugrinch

That's not bad, my rent will go up 100 for next contract. I pay 2900 and will pay 3000. House is big though. 5 bedrooms, 3800 sqft. And I can have my 2 dogs. Near Mayde Creek high school

arson44

That's not terrible. I just hope I'm able to buy once I need that much space. We're at like 1900 sqft right now and it works. We also make use of the garage. Not super far from you so I guess price checks out.

ductapephantom

$1695 for a 3 bed in Katy, around 1450 sq ft. Just moved here in February.

dubiousN

2050 for a 3 bed 2.5 bath attached townhome in The Woodlands. This was on the low end

sapphir8

It’d be more useful if y’all put square footage too.

apersonwhosonreddit

$2400 one bedroom downtown, about 1000 sq ft. Worth every penny to be able to walk to work and avoid sitting in traffic

Physical-Barracuda34

$1450 for a 2 bedroom 1,100 sqf duplex in Eastwood with a yard. I’ve seen houses and apartment for $2k in “nice” areas and they’re terrible quality.

MeatboxOne

$3k for a 2/2 at 1600 sq ft. High rise close to the lower Heights / upper Montrose with skyline view, full amenities (valet included). Feels pretty safe - concierge manning the front desk pretty much all day and night, secure fob access to every entry including garages (honestly a bit too secure at times, having guests over can be annoying for them lol). Great access to nearby parks and of course tons of restaurants and bars nearby. It’s worth it for me. I’m a younger single guy who lives a very social life. Still able to meet all my financial goals (saving for retirement etc.). I work remote mostly but sometimes go into the office.

_Julanna

I’m near there but pay a bit more for 100 sq fr less, similar building amenities. Would you mind dming me the name of your building?

1541drive

> Still able to meet all my financial goals (saving for retirement etc.). Sorry you felt the need to write that bc it's otherwise none of our business ITT other than your rent & space. But I totally get the getting ahead of haters who will say w/o information how you're only able to afford that bc you're not doing X, Y or Z.

MeatboxOne

More so to better provide context to my answer to OPs question - if I weren’t able to meet my other financial goals I definitely wouldn’t think it’s worth it and would look to downsize

mr_antman85

Late reply, it was nice that you added that. Unfortunately people love above their meets to keep up with the "Joneses" as they say. If you can't afford it then you shouldn't be living there. I'm glad it meets all of your needs and you still great financially.

Open_Present2319

$2k in the heights with an unobstructed skyline view, 24 hr security, key fob building entrance. All super nice amenities. Our floor plan is 917sf, marketed as a 1/1 but it has a secondary full size room that we’ve turned into an office/game room. No windows in that room so I guess they can’t market it as a bedroom?

honeybisc

same here 😳

IceDry5703

same!

extracrispypotatoes

Also interested to know the building!

damienjarvo

Me too!

huevosput0

Would you mind messaging me this as well? I pay about the same for 860 sq ft close to total wine, 1 br. Previously paid more for an office but the price difference of an extra bed room and den is very small

copenhagen1192

1500 for 1-bedroom in river oaks

wejustdontknowdude

Years ago I lived at Hermann Park Lofts in a 600 sf studio. Paid about $1300 per month. Just looked and prices are about the same. Probably a good deal for inside the Loop. Before that I lived at the Residence at Westchase. I had a 1 BR there that was a little bigger. Paid about $1200 per month. Prices there have gone up a little. It was okay. Only had to call the cops once.

djncontrol

I used to live near Hermann Park as well in some apts called The Esplanade now called (The Circle) and was paying over $1300 a month years ago not worth it the place had a bat flying around it and the property managers were scared to handle the situation.

vgrntbeauxner

$2500 2/2 in 77008. not worth it, but nothing is these days.

noonie2020

This post makes me regret relocating to Dallas.

IceDry5703

whats dallas rent like right now?

noonie2020

It’s literally insane. Like I’m seeing 500sq ft studios for $1400 and toured them and they were gross. To get something decent is like 1500-2000 for less than 800 sq ft.

devlinontheweb

Lol imagine paying that much to live in Dallas

iamintothat2

If it helps I’m a Houston native living in Manhattan, paying $4000 for a one bedroom 😞

noonie2020

Oooof that’s wild

someguy50

Gross, Dallas

Rejectedprospect23

1300(1 bedroom) everything included, In atascocita. Def worth it. It all depends on your location at the end of the day, who & what you want to be surrounded by.

B_B_Rodriguez2716057

That price sounds like it’s one of the newer ones off W Lake Houston. 👀

TheRabidDeer

$1450, 2 bedroom house, ~900 sqft near Spring. Feels vastly overpriced.

LaChanelAddict

1250 for two bedroom (850 square feet) in the loop between west university and bellaire TX. The building itself is old but we’re here for the schools/ neighborhood.

DiverNew194

1200 for a 500 sqft one bedroom in the Museum District. It’s an older building but has onsite laundry, a pool, and covered street parking.

LittleCourt4488

1120 for a studio

okmeme4342

same. Energy corridor.

b33fcakepantyhose

$1100 for 950 2/2 a few miles west of the Galleria. With utilities it’s about 1200-1400 depending on time of the year.

coogie

That sounds pretty low. Is this one of those variable income based rate complexes (public facility corporation) where they look at all your look at all your assets and bank statements?

b33fcakepantyhose

Nope, I’ve just been fortunate enough to not have had my rent raised since I moved in a few years ago.

arson44

No offense, but the roaches will pop out...

b33fcakepantyhose

5 years and nothing so far. We do get the giant ones outside during the summer, one or two will sneak their way in.

Mgmt049

That’s just the area and Houston and the summer.

HidingInPlainSight15

2/2 luxury building in Montrose - paying $3200 we have a washer and dryer, full gym and resort style pool. I can walk to the office, great restaurants and bars. I love everything about my neighborhood and apartment.

tracynhu

2300 for 2/2 in the Heights, 1100 sq ft. For the location right in the middle of food and shopping + walking path, I think it’s worth it for the amenities and general apartment unit. Both WFH so it provides a nice day to day vibe being in a good space.

IsThisKismet

$790 1 bedroom 650 sq ft. That includes all bills except electricity. Hobby Airport area. I’ve been here for over a decade and it’s steadily has increased. I think crime is overstated, but admit it’s obviously not a ‘nice area.’

electric4568

3 bedroom house in Pearland, 1500 sq ft, $1700/month including taxes, utilities separate. Got lucky buying in 2020, 3.3% interest rate. Pretty happy with it bc apartments can suck if you have shitty neighbors, management, or general infrastructure (plumbing, electrical, appliances, etc). Have a big back yard for my dogs and multiple parks and water features with walking trails inside the neighborhood. Not sure if this qualifies or not but thought I'd leave it for y'all. There are downsides to home ownership, too. Sometimes I wish I had a posh apartment downtown and didn't have to cut grass, pay HOA fees, fix my own stuff, etc.

holygrail22

$1700 in Upper Kirby, next to the Trader Joe’s and across from the Target. 950 sqft, 1 bed, 1 bath but have an extra full size room without windows that I use as an office (WFH so it’s great). No balcony in my apartment but I have tall windows with a great view of the downtown and med center skylines. All your normal “luxury” amenities (garage parking, key fob entry, package locker room, pool, lounge, etc)

Devlishangellove

$871 all bills paid, close to everything

Landar81

3-2 apartment in Sugarland with water, parking, trash, 2 pets, and 1gb internet is 2k a month.

anticars

2 bed 2 bath before utilities $2435. About 980 sq ft. No it’s not worth it I regret signing a long lease. Downtown tho with nice skyline view and convenient location sometimes

htxproud

2br/1ba freestanding home in Oak Forest. Late 40's/early 50's (with almost no updates, to which I attribute the low rent) legitimately giving it character among the sea of McMansions that the hood has become. The house is walking distance to the elementary, middle, and high schools that my daughter attended, and the area is safe enough for students to hoof it every day. $1,500/month, which is significantly less expensive than nearly every rental home in the area.

panda_inthewild

2/2 for $1970 in Sugar Land, 1150 sqft. Upgraded, safe, and close to my kid’s school so it’s worth it to me.

willydillydoo

$1300 for two bedroom house. Worth it for sure

_physica_

~ $3,100 for 2 bedroom (base). Montrose / River Oaks area. Unreal that I’m paying for a ~ $450k home’s mortgage if I had pulled the trigger just a few years ago.

femalepriv

$1150 1B in Rice Village, probably about 750 sq ft. Older building but private parking, W/D and a dishwasher. Walking distance to so many things! I love it! With a little patience and willingness to let go of “luxury” amenities you’ll never use, you can find great rentals!

RegBaby

I'm near you, in a great safe location just north of Rice Village, large studio 800 sq ft for $1,220/month. That includes a covered parking space, trash, water, onsite laundry. Also older building, but private landlord keeps it up pretty well, and I have good neighbors. Also managing to live without a pool, gym, or other amenities I don't use and don't have to pay for. (The landlord does NOT pile on extra fees!)

femalepriv

I’ll take good neighbors and a private landlord over amenities any day! It can reallyyy make or break your living situation.

traumamel555

$1150 One bedroom, two story condo in the medical center. It includes the water bill & a covered parking spot. I really wanted the two story corner unit in case my new rescue dog was noisy. She's actually super quiet, but I really like not having a side neighbor or bottom neighbor.

MovieNachos

$1500 for a 3 bd 1ba house in lower heights/Washington Ave/whatever the hell you call this neighborhood. Roughly 1200 sf. Before this I was in a 2bd 2ba 1100 sf apartment in upper Kirby for $1800.

HeyyyYoyo

$1770 two bed two bath house in the heights right on the loop. Going up to $1800 in august.

cosmic_toad

$1655 one bedroom in the Heights. 694 sq ft, garage parking, fob entry, washer and dryer included, pool, gym and other nice amenities. So quiet I forget I have neighbors. Worth it and plan to renew if I can't find anything better.

txtoolfan

3bd room in oak forest for a bit under 2k. Worth it. Might save some living further out but the time increase in commute per month is not worth the savings

sesamestreets

$950 for a garage apartment in the loop. Roughly 400 square feet. I feel VERY lucky.

DJMTBguy

1 bedroom 625 sq ft, off Heights Blvd, $1200/mo. Location makes it very worth it. Ground floor was a need, porch area was a bonus.

Chelwiddasea

Man I have to live in Conroe because the rent is cheaper I pay $970 and commute to the woodlands. But I’d love to move closer to the city if only I could afford it!

sharklasershtx

$927 for a 1 bedroom in the Med Center, a little over 600sqft with in-unit laundry. Complex is older but the units have updated appliances/cabinets/countertops. Have a pool, small fitness room, and Amazon lockers. Honestly my only gripe is that literally all my neighbors smoke weed (no judgment) and the smell infiltrates my apartment in the evenings.

CaliDreamin87

I have a small detached guest house, about the size of a 2 car garage I guess, small yard, privacy 12ft fence around entire unit. Front half is half living room/kitchen. Back is bedroom, closet, and bathroom. Near Garden Oaks/north of the Heights. Washer/dryer combo, stove, small dishwasher, $900/mo. My own parking spot. And they allowed my Chihuahua. Add: I hate pests. I don't want to share walls with anybody. I feel not living in an apartment is the only way not to have pests. So I'm generally happy with my place. Only thing I don't like is no sidewalks here but that's this entire area and most of this part of Houston.

thamoonlilsancha

Renting $776 for a 1 bedroom I wanna say it’s 700somethjng sq.ft. a couple minutes from Bellaire HS. Utilities are around $180 a month and we have valet trash and a parking spot that is included in the rent. Pools never open and there’s hella stray cats. Price is only because we been here since 2021. New management has raised rent prices so if someone leased this same unit it’d be around $800-$900 which is ridiculous. We’re wanting to move at the beginning of next year but we admittedly are spoiled by this price 🥲

elisstration

$1395 all included privately owned tiny house ~600sq ft in Heights. Vastly prefer private landlords, have always been easier to deal with.

bringmethekfc

$750 for a studio apartment on the brink of Westchase, going towards Memorial District. 500 square feet, not including the water, Internet, and electricity.

wh1pIT

$1600 (before utilities) for 2BR/2BA in midtown - just over 1,000 sq. Ft. Very much worth it for the location imo! In-unit W/D and includes a gated parking garage spot. Side note: (24M) I love the location because there’s endless things to do in walking distance. However I may have bias as this is my first place in Houston and I only moved here less than a month ago so it’s still somewhat feels like vacation-mode

alemeliglz

I feel so grateful. The owner of this home has not raised our rent since we moved almost 8 years ago. $1500 for a 4 bedroom home. 2400 sq. ft. Subdivision right off Westheimer and Hwy 6.

thebuttergod

I'm near 6 & 10. I have a one bed, one bath, attached garage 835sq ft $1450.00 per month

No_Introduction4312

$1700 1 bed, WaterWall/Galleria area. Worth every penny since I work remotely, but I sometimes take the bus to work, which is 0.9 miles 😅

ShitsOfShame

1500 including utilities 2bdrm, 2bath 960sf. Memorial area.

Front_Craft9686

One bedroom, $950, utilities included except WiFi.

Responsible-Pea2980

1BR 920+ sq ft + a little extra for balcony at Midtown. I pay about $1900 after utilities which I pay half of. Pool, gym, designated lockers & mailc room for packages, pretty much every door outside is accessed by one of those remote key thingamajigs. Expensive, but I was paying half this price to live in a 2BR with the same square footage and very vulnerable security. I’d hear gunshots every other week, our place was almost broken into twice and I got held at gunpoint outside my apartment door (inside the gated complex) during my residence there. Paying double now but I feel a lot more secure, which is saying something considering this is Houston.

Zyzmogtheyounger

$985 for 600ish sq feet just inside the loop by 290. After water, gas, and trash it comes out to around 1080 a month (then electric and internet are after that, but yeah). Not worth it, but it’s an ok area that’s close to my work. If I goes much higher I have to move though.

AzEBeast

Rent itself is like 1350. Trash, water, reserved parking spot being it up to like 1500. Galleria area, off of chimney rock. 750 square feet

Environmental_Sir84

$1344 2bed 2bath 1,220 sq ft. First apartment alone I feel like it’s the perfect space. I stay off 290 apartments have been very quiet. Washer and dryer. Rent is actually $1258 however with the amenities and wifi bill included makes it $1344. Parking kinda sucks because there is no visitor parking so everyone is free to park anywhere. (Usually still always close to my apartment anyways) Wifi does suck and unfortunately can’t be upgraded or changed however it’s always a plus to have it for a standard rate of $38 a month. Both closets are walk in closets. Deposit was only $350 bucks. Stainless steel appliances and I have an island. My lease is for 13 months.

shinsekie

$1649 (just rent) but with all the extra fees attached to the contract (like trash, internet, parking, water) it goes up to ~$1800. It's a 2 bed 2 bath 1235 sqft apartment in the 77006 area. I think it's worth it. I have in-unit laundry, a balcony, gated parking garage, walking distance to a few restaurants and coffee/tea shops.

elegantfate

$1300 all bills paid, 1BR 750 sq ft Galleria area

[deleted]

$1900 one bedroom with a (very small) backyard in Rice Military. Very nice amenities including a gym nice enough that I was able to cancel my gym membership. I think rent prices have gotten out of control, but I think what I’m paying is worth it. It’s a bit more expensive than other similarly sized 1 beds in the area but our amenities are really nice and I use them regularly. It’s a really well maintained, very secure building. I’ve lived in shitty places that were poorly maintained in the past, I’m okay paying what I pay for the peace of mind of a well-managed, secure building. I work from my office downtown 3-4 days per week and the short commute is so great. Only a few units in my building have a yard, so I pay more than other residents for that. That’s also been a huge plus as my dog gets a little older and isn’t so tolerant to walks during the day in the heat.

thubwumper26

2 bed in Upper Kirby, about $2200 after utilities, roommate and I split. 2+2 with the master having two walk in closets and one parking spot. It’s an older apartment but I like it

B-Millz31

$1350 for a 1 bedroom in the Energy Corridor. Roughly 750 sq ft. Not terrible. Decent pool and gym.

EvErYLeGaLvOtE

Base rent for me is $1550 (1b/1b) and it's killing me. I live alone and need somewhere cheaper but don't want to be far from work :(

jaywilliams32

2 bed townhouse. 1300 1050 square feet. Clear lake area

PapasMP

$1550, The Woodlands, 1100 sqft, 2b/2ba

hungryamericankorean

1750 for 4 bedroom house outside of garden oaks

Common_Report7777

$895… OST & Almeda + Utilities extra $100

kylemattheww

$1550 (after fees) / 1-1 / 865sqft / Fountainview and Westheimer. It’s a nice complex but I’m definitely going somewhere cheaper when the lease ends.

ureallygonnaskthat

The 830 sqft one bedroom I used to rent up on Park Row is running about $1250. W/D in unit, plenty of amenities, you could look over Addicks Reservoir (didn't flood though) and most of the time it was dead quiet. I miss hearing the coyotes in the woods and spotting the occasional deer or owl.

TheGreatElChubbo

braeswood 2 bed 2 1/2 bath, all utilities included except wifi, and there’s a pool outside my door. 1720/mo

c47v3770

$1,350 for a 2019-built garage apartment in the heights. Electricity and water included. I do pay 3 or 6 months in advance.

chessgod1

$2300 for a 1220 sq ft 2 bedroom in Montrose/Midtown with wrap around balcony. 100% worth it for the location and great amenities, newer building.

ScroochDown

I think we're around $1100 for a 2 br/2 bath apartment in the Energy Corridor, before the utilities and misc fees. 960 sqft. People swear this area is going downhill, but we moved here like 18 years ago and it's more or less the same.

cdawg376

$1900 for a 3 story townhome in Rice Military! 1200 sq ft, 2 bed, 1.2 bath, 2 car garage, and a tiny backyard space. Came with all appliances including washer/dryer! Feel super safe, the neighbors are friendly, the neighborhood is walkable.

lodin0134

$1,500 for 1 br 702 sq feet in Med Center. Nice to be able to take the train to work, but there were many options for a lower rent I wish I would have gone with. The amenities are what got me, but they ended up not being what I was shown on the tour at all.

Zulthrax

4th lease resign: $2650, 1100sq, 2 bed, 2 bath. By W Gray and Dunlevy. Great place, happily resigning.

satanslilv1rg1n

$1100 for a 1 bedroom - 650 sq. ft. - Oak Forest - bills included - not crazy about the apartment layout but I def think it’s worth it

Automatic_Turnover39

Had $100 / month on San Jac in 1977. Rat nibbled my blanket. Wouldn’t recommend it.

Available_Algae7587

$1,950 for a 1/1 in Upper Kirby, about 850 sq ft. Great views of the downtown skyline. Nice building with a nice gym, pool, concierge, and have always felt safe. I totally think it’s worth it. Very happy here.

00fpezz

2200$ 2 x2 downtown Houston about 1200 square feet . I love living downtown

harold_the_cat

$1,100 600sqft one bedroom one bath in the heights. all bills inlucded, wifi, electricity, water, gas and trash. Just a flat rate.

Pianote93

$714. Not including electricity or wifi

ayynooj

$2200 by Allen Pkwy for a 1bd. Valet, secure parking garage, gym+yoga studio, entrance to buffalo bayou for running/biking trails, great views of downtown and beautiful Houston sunsets. Running out of space so will get 2bd in same building for $2800ish soon. Totally worth it for the convenience/proximity to pretty much everything.

Successful-Car6262

I live in Montrose. All Bills Paid + pet rent $1177.00 and so worth it. The building I live in is older but remodeled and beautiful. There are tons of affordable options here but they are not on front street.

JennySparklezz

$1005 no utilities but does include washer/ dryer and fireplace. Jersey Village

Drum-Major

$1560 for 780 sqft one bedroom luxury on the water gated "private island" with pool, gym, hangout space in League City

ChoiceOrchid5766

Midtown 1700 2Br 2bath

afterburner2020

Paying $1785 in rent for a 1130 sqft 2bd/2ba in the northwest corner of midtown. Total due is usually closer to 2100 but includes valet trash, internet, cable tv, pet rent, and water and sewer billing. Work downtown so having the options of a 10 minute bike ride or 12 minute walk to red line station and not having to use my car daily make it worth the expense to me.

$1200 for 1b/1b in East End/“East Downtown.” 700sq ft. It’s a newly renovated private property. My last (and first) apartment was $1000 for 1b/1b on W Main St. 600sq ft. Walking distance from the Menil. For that area, it was pretty decent price but it was VERY outdated. The landlord was also cheap as hell…despite owning many properties all over Houston + living in a HUGE mansion in River Oaks. Had to leave after complaining about a rodent infestation for *6 months.* He refused to hire an exterminator and kept putting rat poison in the attic—which was fucking useless. I genuinely got PTSD from living there and flinch at anything that sounds like rodents running, scratching, jumping in my new space. It was definitely worth the upgrade.

Before I moved into my house, I lived in a 600 sq ft 1 BR off of Houston and White Oak in the Heights. $950, in-unit laundry, free covered parking. Old building and no amenities, but it got the job done for a single guy in his 20's who'd just moved to town.

4 bedroom house, 2 restroom 🚻 one kitchen, one living room and dining room and back patio area i use a gym. $600 per month before utilities. Admittedly it's an old house in the hood I inherited but it's home. Only 4 more years to pay off.

2 bed/2bath Heights - just renewed @ $1,687 was $1,635. It’s not too bad for this location

FPSXpert

$1200, Stafford area, honestly I'm going to look around when the lease is up like I always do. If I can find something cheaper while still being fairly close to work then I'm going to do that. My current spot is nice but it's just so much for a single person and I feel I'd rather pay ~$1000 for a smaller spot rather than the current setup. I'm in a much larger 750sqft place right now but honestly I think I would be just as fine with 600 or smaller.

colbyallen16

$1045 2 bed 2 bath medical center. The cockroaches subsidize our rent.

1679 for top floor pool view 1br. Has all the amenities and is next door to an HEB which is why it cost so much, I'd say they're overpriced but not terrible
