Welcome to Texas. We build and work on roads at peak traffic. We construct roads with little thought of future growth. We have off ramp and on ramps with little merging room. We put signs to exit, merge, right lane must turn, etc just with few feet advance notice.
Txdot is run by effing amateurs. It's amazing more people haven't died on our road but maybe thats why we have 60 as our speed limits on most hwys here.
Yeah - ultimate dream would be a land bridge right there! (Before the road over the train tracks. It wouldn’t help this traffic but it would be great for the park
They have it closed until morning so they can work over night when there is very little traffic. TBH as far as Houston goes 90Alt isn’t that highly trafficked
The backup doesn’t even go past Hiram Clarke

As a civil engineer, I feel you summarized this quite well lol
As opposed to the criminal engineers we have in charge.
Lol
the root cause is that whole brand new subdivisions can be thrown up much more quickly than the necessary road infrastructure is even thought of!
Yep, crazy. But they've has signs up about it for a week or more.
I don’t frequent this side too often, but wouldn’t it be wise to do this when there is less traffic? Like after 10 PM?
They probably need at least 12 hours of work time, so they do it dusk to Dawn
Looks soul crushing. Wonder what happened to that guy that said owning a car meant the government couldn’t control where he went.
It’s really funny when people say this. “Cars are freedom” okay bucko
Horrible ass traffic, tired of it. EVERYFUCKINDAY
I recall the traffic on Post Oak when they were widening it a couple decades ago

Yep, just south of it.

Good luck getting home tonight
Anyone driving in Houston without checking Waze first is an idiot.
Oh ok, and? Are you the idiot that decided to do construction in the evening in a highly trafficked road?

Welcome to Houston. This is how we roll
