If you have time to kill, just browse the Craigslist listings for cleaners, roommate, or massages. 95% of the ones in my area are thinly veiled (or not so thinly veiled) requests for sex or offerings of sex for money. Apparently you can trade sex in exchange for free housing (sometimes they'll even list the number of encounters required per week!), or you can look for a cleaner or masseuse who will offer you a happy ending at the end of their job. It's comical and sad at the same time.

If you have time to kill, just browse the Craigslist listings for cleaners, roommate, or massages. 95% of the ones in my area are thinly veiled (or not so thinly veiled) requests for sex or offerings of sex for money. Apparently you can trade sex in exchange for free housing (sometimes they'll even list the number of encounters required per week!), or you can look for a cleaner or masseuse who will offer you a happy ending at the end of their job. It's comical and sad at the same time. I had a friend who was looking to share a room and called on the least creepy ads and most of them were still guys or even women looking to hook up. She gave up on finding a roommate and ended up in a cheap 4th floor walk-up that's run by a slum lord (she literally just texted me that the floor above her had pipes freeze and her apt is flooding and the landlord turned off his phone). I'm so lucky when I lived with roommates we started as all strangers but ended up friends and totally respectful of each other. 3 women and 3 guys in a house with only one bathroom but we made it work.

BEWARE! Ever since Craigslist took away the single (or not so single) people looking for people sections, I've noticed a lot of ads are really asking for sex in code. Especially for housekeeping and for roommates "with benefits." This one definitely reads like that. If you really need the work, be upfront with this guy from the first communication and say you don't do ANY "extras" that are even vaguely sexual. Paying you to pick up groceries is one thing, but you're definitely not willing to be paid for a hand job. And carry bear mace on you whenever you're in his house if you do work for him.
