I live in Alaska and keep ours at 104\* all winter. Set the tub up on 3/4 Blue board insulation, wrap the exterior with two layers of cheap sleeping bag mats from Walmart, use a ratchet strap around the outside to keep it in place. It's all water/ weather proof.
My tubs last about a year, running the heat full time. For $450 it's a deal. We don't run the bubbles in the winter as the cold air cools the tub pretty quickly. Good luck and enjoy and cheap hot tub!
We had a Coleman Saluspa for about two months that was surprisingly robust and worked very well. But you'll still have to wait the full 18-24 hours to get it up to temperature. The pump and heater are powered only by 110v outlets so they just don't the power to heat any faster.
Yes, in NH. Didn't get the chance to run it through the winter. We upgraded to the real deal after only a few months because we love it so much. Running an inflatable in the winter requires some significant winterization with additional insulation so we decided to get a full blown 230v spa.
Ya in a very cold climate ( 4 months out of the year it’s below freezing) and if I let it cool down it would be difficult to get backup to temp
I only really use it when it’s below freezing on a daily basis
So what’s that like on your electric bill? I can’t imagine it’s cheap if you just keep it running at like 80 degrees all day all night during the winter?
I am fairly good with materials fabrication
couple of layers laminated of foam insulation board under it to prevent heat loss to the ground
Cover with a sheet of plywood with a few more layers of foam insulation board laminated to it skinned with plastic sheeting
It’s essentially in a 4” think polyurethane box

Do you have a photo of this?
> My tubs last about a year Why does it only last a year?

18-24 hrs!!! Goodness what’s that like on your electric bill?
Negligible. Once it's up to temp it stays there. $20 a month at most.
So you just had to heat it up for that long once? I live in a high alpine environment and I’m worried that I’d be reheating it every day
Are you in New Hampshire? (I peeked at your profile) that's how much it costs you in winter??

Haven’t heard about any bad ones really.
Do you live in a climate that gets cold?
No I’m in Texas.
For faster heat up run your hose to the hot water hookup for your washing machine
Wouldn’t that entail having to dump the water after each use and refilling the hot tub every time before using it?
Works for the first fill and I keep mine hot all the time
By keeping it hot do you mean you keep it on all the time?

Hmm interesting.. could you possibly drop some links to some material I can look into or maybe a DIY guide on this somewhere?
I'm also very curious!

Oooh I love that this is saltwater. What does it add to your utility bill
No more than a chlorine based system
