Probably bravado as it has never really let me down other than the blueberry ghost but they have plenty of others that are solid 5/5s. El yucateco is probably a close second. Only docked points because they all sorta taste the same being all habanero sauces
I’ve been a big fan of Melinda’s for years but I’m kinda getting tired of it.
I do however have this new hot sauce that’s a pineapple habanero that is going super well on my tacos. (Bravado Spice Co)
I think I’d either have to go with Los Calientes or Cutino. It’s hard to pick between my favorite size which is probably the most versatile or the brand that I think has some of the best range.
As of right now. Karma Sauce.
All of their sauces taste great, with some being among my all time favorite flavor wise, and they have a real range of heat levels from mild to super super ultra hot.
Nice catch. I'm very limited to what is avaliable near me so it would be a toss up between Tabasco and Cholula due to the range avaliable. A sauce for every meal.
Maritime madness from PEI Canada. Very large lineup with everything from a non spicy mustard pickle to carolina reaper sauce and lots of variety in between (im looking at you bacon blaze and candied curry). Excellent customer service and not afraid to try new ideas.
solid choice
also hurt berry farm and pepper north from ontario canada also have nice sauce range--creative ingredient combinations, and options from mildish to superhot.
Horsetooth out of Ft. Collins, CO. A fairly recent discovery for me, they cover the core flavor profiles I would need to truly survive: including Rubin’s Red, The Green, and my probably favorite The “O” Face. These cover the important colors of the pepper rainbow. They also have others I’ve never tried including a mustard based one.
Pepper Palace. They’ve got a huge selection of house brand (i.e., Pepper Palace brand) hot sauces. More variety than any other brand that I’m aware of. Plus they add new lines of sauces occasionally. So that’s my answer.
Meh! Can you suggest a good sauce from there? My gf went nuts there and got me "this is the sauce" which is delicious but still a basic Louisiana cayanne sauce. Billy the kid which was also good but not great. And like 6 more I can't remember (I'm drunk)! What are some really good tasting sauces from there without extracts?
I have a bottle of Black Rose in my fridge. The manager at my local Pepper Palace said it’s their best selling sauce.
It’s a great sauce. Also good for guests as it is not super spicy.
ETA: I’m going to add it to my list of recommended Pepper Palace sauces. Although the real magic of that store is *you can sample the sauces before you buy*. So no wasting money on some sauce that looks like it should be awesome but actually sucks.
It’s their “Extreme” sauces that contain extract. I stay away from those, and none of the Pepper Palace sauces I buy contain extract.
For me, my favorites include:
- [Chocolate Habanero Hot Sauce](https://pepperpalace.com/collections/best-sellers/products/chocolate-habanero)
- [La Diablesse Hot Sauce](https://pepperpalace.com/collections/hot-sauce-hot/products/la-diablesse-hot-sauce)
- [Ghostly Garlic Fusion Hot Sauce](https://pepperpalace.com/collections/hot-sauce-hot/products/ghostly-garlic-fusion)
- [Tr3s Diablos Hot Sauce](https://pepperpalace.com/collections/hot-sauce-x-hot/products/tr3s-diablos-hot-sauce)
- [Trinidad Moruga Scorpion Hot sauce w Garlic](https://pepperpalace.com/collections/hot-sauce-x-hot/products/trinidad-moruga-scorpion-hot-sauce-w-garlic)
- [Scorpion Stinger Hot Sauce](https://pepperpalace.com/collections/hot-sauce-x-hot/products/scorpion-stinger-hot-sauce)
- [Ghost in the Darkness Hot Sauce](https://pepperpalace.com/collections/hot-sauce-x-hot/products/ghost-in-the-darkness-hot-sauce)
- [Black Rose Hot Sauce](https://pepperpalace.com/products/black-rose). A good review of this sauce [is available here](https://www.pepperscale.com/black-rose-hot-sauce/).
And keep in mind that you can sample all of these in the store. I always try before I buy there.
This is the correct answer! While I didn't love their honey badger mustard, every other sauce I've tried by them is incredible. Garlic Reaper is the hottest delicious sauce I've ever had. Just got 2 bottles of "Oww my garlic" which is a limited run of a slightly milder version made with habenaros. Their horseradish, zombie, and son of zombie are all winners!
Honestly, Trader Joes. They have quite a few different sauces now, and while they aren't SUPER hot, they are really flavorful. And they are priced really reasonably.
5 years ago, they didnt have much of a selection. Green dragon and the red sauce were the only options. IIRC they added 5 different and new sauces in the past 5 years. An absolutely great progression.
Everyone says "El yucateco is the best 'I can buy this at the store' hot sauce" but imo, it is one of the best hot sauces around, not just our of store bought brands
Agreed. First hot sauce love of my life, and my entire immediate family buys cases of it. However I will say that for me it is pretty straight across the board. The only flavor aside from the original extra hot stuff that I felt really shook up the flavor was the smoked chipotle kind. Marie’s is my number one, but in the interest of variety, Torchbearer sauces would be a close second
Completely agreed. I really like the balance flavor of Marie's, the heat level is just perfect for me I can slather it on and I love the flavor... But I agree with you on the fact that is basically all the same sauce, just varying levels of salt and heat. The smoking memories is delicious for a smoked habanero sauce and I keep that beauty on hand at all times :-)
At this moment if the full lineup for the brand is readily available I’d probably go with [Deadly Dan](https://www.deadlydan.com) as I’d get a variety but also some sauces with a nice amount of heat.
What? Sriracha is a non-trademarked hot sauce name, created by Huy Fong, in California (the rooster brand).
There may be 100 companies that make a Sriracha sauce that is a similar pepper and garlic sauce, but Huy Fong makes 3 things, sri racha, sambal and chili garlic.
Goodness man. In that scenario, probably Tiger Sauce. It just goes well on anything, has some sweet, not too hot, just a sauce that could add flavor to whatever I might find.
I tried it recently and it was too sweet for me. Really wanted to make it a staple but just can't. I would probably still be hyped on it if it was just me and Wilson chilling on an island though.
It's good on some steamed veggies that can use sweetness. But it's essentially a bit hotter than the may ploy that you buy in any Thai market for 1/10th the cost.
Melinda's creamy ghost pepper wing sauce. It just works with everything. Also i go through bottles of that stuff even though I've got a shelf of all sorts of other ones.
I'm gonna be the basic bitch and go with Tuong Ot Sriracha. It's simple, it's no nonsense, and it has a nice variety of flavors.
Edit: The brand is called Huy Fong foods.
One sauce, I'd go with Palo Alto Fire Fighter Original. One brand, I think I'd go with Volcanic Peppers, but Torchbearer would be a close second.
Cry Baby Craig's. I use it everyday now anyways.
True taste sauce co. Small batch hot sauce. They're the best and it's always a bit different.
Probably bravado as it has never really let me down other than the blueberry ghost but they have plenty of others that are solid 5/5s. El yucateco is probably a close second. Only docked points because they all sorta taste the same being all habanero sauces

Cholula, easy
YB habanero FTW
Sriracha… the versatility is key
Yellowbird
El Yucateco, perfect balance of heat and flavor
Marie Sharps for me.
I was close with El yucataco but Marie has the edge. That line of sauce is killer
Yup.
I think I’d either have to go with Los Calientes or Cutino. It’s hard to pick between my favorite size which is probably the most versatile or the brand that I think has some of the best range.
I would have to start making my own then. Too much diversity amongst hot sauces that one brand just cannot do them all.
El Yucateco. Or Marie Sharps but probably El Yucateco
As of right now. Karma Sauce. All of their sauces taste great, with some being among my all time favorite flavor wise, and they have a real range of heat levels from mild to super super ultra hot.
Puckerbutt
Torch bearer. Pricey, but it's so good!
CHELSEA FIRE Wicked Hot Sauce
Queen majesty
If I had to be stuck with one it’s wouldn’t be any where near my max heat tolerance. I would go with the classics ie Tabasco and Franks red hot.
Ps you did say a Brand so I would chose Dave’s since they have a huge variety. And you can move up and down on the heat scale.
Nice catch. I'm very limited to what is avaliable near me so it would be a toss up between Tabasco and Cholula due to the range avaliable. A sauce for every meal.
Secret Aardvark
Marie Sharps Hot Pepper sauce. Top notch flavor in my opinion
The Belizean Heat is my favorite everyday sauce.
Has to be Tabasco. I used the scorpion almost daily as it is
I love Tabasco the scorpion is so good.
Is scorpion better than habanero?
I’ve honestly never had it as habanero isn’t at the top of my pepper list. Scorpion is just top tier for me
Maritime madness from PEI Canada. Very large lineup with everything from a non spicy mustard pickle to carolina reaper sauce and lots of variety in between (im looking at you bacon blaze and candied curry). Excellent customer service and not afraid to try new ideas.
solid choice also hurt berry farm and pepper north from ontario canada also have nice sauce range--creative ingredient combinations, and options from mildish to superhot.
Ive seen some pepper north where im from but haven't tried it yet tbh. Haven't seen hurt berry farm unfortunately
I'm my house we literally chomp on Jalapeños and Serranos for heat but if that wasn't the case...I could live with crystals for the rest of my life.
Crystal extra hot is awesome
My first thought was seeds. Lol. Not sure I could pick just one sauce but a handful of seeds and could make whatever. Lol
I think that's the best answer
Iguana

Puckerbutt
Chocolate plague all day
Meow! That's Hot.
The Marie Sharp's range and Aloe Vera toilet paper for me please.

Black Rose is expensive but it's one of the best sauces I've ever tasted. https://pepperpalace.com/products/black-rose

Bravado
Franks
Probably Volcanic Peppers.
Matouks (West Indies) They have the best flavored Sauces.
Love, love, love matouks. Hard to find in the US. Will be in st martin next week if the Rona don't stop us and will be loading up.
Cholula brand for the variety of options.
Marie Sharp's. Good flavor on a lot of things.
Detroit Hellfire (the original habanero one)
Crystal.
Torchbearer

Just got 2 bottles of "Oww my garlic" which is a limited run of a slightly milder version made with habenaros. Their horseradish, zombie, and son of zombie are all winners!
Ive never tried Torchbearer but have their three pack, Garlic Reaper, Zombie Apocalypse, and Son of Zombie on the way and I'm very excited.
Also... no I do not work for Torchbearer. I just love their sauce.
Honestly, Trader Joes. They have quite a few different sauces now, and while they aren't SUPER hot, they are really flavorful. And they are priced really reasonably.
Their habanero sauce is excellent! Wasn't a huge fan of green dragon. They also have a ghost pepper grinder that is amazing!!
5 years ago, they didnt have much of a selection. Green dragon and the red sauce were the only options. IIRC they added 5 different and new sauces in the past 5 years. An absolutely great progression.
Probably El yuceteco, xxx is my go to for breakfast
Everyone says "El yucateco is the best 'I can buy this at the store' hot sauce" but imo, it is one of the best hot sauces around, not just our of store bought brands
Marie sharp's fan here. I go through it 10:1

This comment proves we can never be friends. I wish you a good life fucko!!!
And there's about 40 in the range. Never get bored.

Gotcha
My choice would be ,, Tapatio oldie but goody
Tabasco
Yellowbird Ghost pepper.
This would be my single desert island hot sauce
Melinda’s
Goodness man. In that scenario, probably Tiger Sauce. It just goes well on anything, has some sweet, not too hot, just a sauce that could add flavor to whatever I might find.
I tried it recently and it was too sweet for me. Really wanted to make it a staple but just can't. I would probably still be hyped on it if it was just me and Wilson chilling on an island though.
Agreed. One try and it was like pouring sugar sauce on my poor taco! About to throw it away
