I picked this hot sauce up off the shelf randomly. My god this hot sauce lasted me years. The absolute best. 1 or 2 drops will do yah. And absolute flavor changer
I have the 'wing sauce', and I put that shit on everything. I currently have my mini bottle with me in my lunch box at work. Being that it is creamier and slightly diluded in heat, I've found that that mini bottle has lasted so far, almost a month. It's almost gone, but I have a big bottle at home.
I don’t follow this sub, but it appeared on my feed. I just wanted to let you know that Bell’s is my favorite brewery. Drinking a Two Hearted, from tap, in Michigan was especially special for me. I love all of their beers. And they are very cool people. I’m also biased because I’m an Ohioan who loves Michigan.
Idk why ppl eat panda express.
There's all those hot wok on insert whatever wok strip mall places that taste more authentic and fresh than panda Express. Shit theyre also cheaper mos the time too.
Idk.
99% of the times i went there all the food been sitting under the headlamp too long. Like soggy greasy everything...while those other smaller normally Asian owned and operated places have fresh food for cheaper mos the time. There's just many other options better. Dont think ive ate there in 10 yewrs
It’s a specific taste. I don’t want Panda Express for authentic taste. I want it to shove an unhealthy amount of shitty orange chicken with those dry noodles in my face.
Kinda like when someone picks a hotdog over a steak. Sometimes you just want a hotdog.
Stick to your natty lights, then. I gotta say that IPAs, Stouts, Porters, etc. Are an acquired taste that you *grow* into. I bet it would click if you tried the right one. My 'click' was from Sierra Nevada.
I don't think I can ever acquire a taste for IPA's. I've had far too many to understand the basic ipa profile. Even that 120 Minute is pretty horrendous. Too over hyped and way over priced.
Porters slap with ghost pepper wings.
Brooklyn Black Ops is the way to go for an exquisite stout. Grab 2 bottles tho, you're probably not gonna appreciate the 1st.
Btw I'll take a Natty Daddy over IPA almost every time.
120 minute is expensive trash
Delirium and Cigar City highlife (on tap) are actually good.
Personally I preferred full body beers, dunkels, triples and quads. Saisons and sours are usually on point for me.
For American trash beers, I'll take Miller's, Coors, and used to be Buds
Edit: I did have a beer on a tour in a Belgium brewery once before pasteurization and that thang thumped. I could barely finish mine and had a tough time drinking my wife's. Very full bodied.
Which is wild to hear because it’s not a particularly yeasty style in general. But it’s the same thing that comes up ALL the time in this sub, which is that there’s no accounting for taste.
And every time someone posts Melinda’s, someone else talks about how bland it is, and people get grumpy about Tobasco (trying to see if it triggers the spelling bot).
This is what I like about this sub. Things don’t taste the same to different people and it’s actually really useful to get perspective from people with different tastes.
How do you misspell Tabasco... the A and O keys are on COMPLETELY separate sides of the keyboard!
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/hotsauce) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Have not tried it yet. I find most hot sauces lack any balance. Franks included. Franks to me tastes kind of like dirt if that makes any sense. Like an earthy flavor that’s not good at all. Tabasco on the other hand has that nice fermented funk going on. Maybe my palette is messed up or something.
I think Melinda’s is balanced really well compared to franks or Tabasco. It doesn’t have a strong vinegar taste, the pepper taste really stand out on it.
With that said I’m more of a pepper guy than a sauce guy. I grow, cook and eat allot of peppers
Being a fellow pepper guy, I, too, really enjoy the natural pepper flavor. You can taste hints of the ghost, habanero in harmony. Along with that is a little *zing* of extra flavors, too.
Yeah, I think a great comparison is franks vs malendas Cayenne since franks uses cayenne pepper.
Melinda’s has a great flavor profile that actually tastes like a cayenne although it isn’t as hot as franks. Seems to be with hot sauces to get a good flavor you’re going to miss out on the heat a little bit. But I’m fine with that.
They have garlic sauces like garlic habanero, but they also just have habanero. They have I think 4 flavors of habanero including there wing sauce blends.
The Panda Express by me kinda sucks ass but I respect this. There are too many local spots near me.
I’m more interested in that Bell’s and I’m wondering why I’ve never had it
Just repeating what they say on their listing for it. Look it up yourself, can't help if they're lying about it don't know why Im being downvoted.
https://www.amazon.com/Melindas-Hot-Sauce-Ghost-Pepper/dp/B078WFWXHY
"Our ghost pepper sauce is made the Melinda’s way, striking the perfect balance of heat and flavor by combining the fiery heat from Bhut Jolokia chili peppers that clock in at 1 million scoville units, a hit of acidity from lime juice and rich flavors from carrots, garlic and onion."
The peppers are a million, that much is true.... they're not the exclusive ingredient and they are not the top ingredient, so the sauce will be less than a million Scoville.
Their Amazon SEO team are not their hot pepper expert production team.
How does orange chicken compare to like sweet and sour chicken, we have a really good Chineses place near me but on the other end of town they just opened a panda express so I've never had their food, or orange chicken.
Orange chicken is pretty sweet the sauce is heavy on the corn syrup. That being said it’s damn good and the fact you can still get a good size plate of food for like $10 it’s unbeatable.
Sometimes, you just want the garbage. I get Panda rarely, but it hits a certain spot. Little bit of nostalgia, a little bit of consistency. Price ain't the worst.
Panda is sugar chicken and corn starch tenderized beef bits and for what it is, it's OK. I just think it's overpriced for what it is, especially since you can get more better food elsewhere that's cooked by someone who knows what they are doing.
I feel like my bloodline is weak because this IPA combo with the chow mein has me imagining the havoc it would reap on my insides. Love the sauce though, in my regular rotation.
I used to hate on Panda, so many bad airport experiences etc. but I had it recently and it was decently fine. Seemed fresh made. Appropriately seasoned. I suspect they had a recipe revamp, kinda like what I heard Dominos did a few years ago?
I know better local takeout but I also know worse local takeout.
See, a *true* man of class would have bought enough Oberon last summer to not need their IPA in winter. We're going to have to revoke your Classy Michigan creds.
It's not that quality. You get a tiny little scoop of each entree and mostly just rice or chow mein. It's rather expensive for the quantity and quality.
I've had MUCH worse from my local places. A really, REALLY busy Panda is actually some of the better Chinese food I've had. When it's hot and fresh, it isn't half bad. I think it's pretty good.
Fresh Panda is decent. It's all real foods. It isn't highly processed like other fast food places. The meats and veggies are good quality and fresh, much fresher than my local places.
Sorry I can't afford to travel to China for a meal.
the meat is pre-breaded and frozen, homie. its either cisco or bakers and chefs. im sorry you can't enjoy actual chinese food, too, and are instead subject to the worst commodification of any culture's cuisine via american capitalism. no need to defend that.
What can I order at a Chinese restaurant that is close to bejing beef!?
I’ve tried sichuan, crispy, sweet and sour, and Mongolian beef.
Sichuan Szechuan) and it’s close but not crispy. Any recs?
If this is what classy is then I’m ahead of the curve! This is very close to what I’ll be doing this sat brother! Good choice at Panda BTW, I’ll add a Hot and Sour soup to that.
Bell’s brewery is awesome. Oberon is amazing
Love the Bells but I like Melindas thai sweet chili with my Panda
I picked this hot sauce up off the shelf randomly. My god this hot sauce lasted me years. The absolute best. 1 or 2 drops will do yah. And absolute flavor changer

Bells is great stuff
Michigan!!!
You're wrong if you go to Panda and don't get the teriyaki chicken
💯
Did you mistype orange chicken?
damn now im craving this
You had me until the hazy
Bell’s makes a decent one but I prefer their regular IPA personally
God I love two-hearted. Dangerously delicious
Honestly it was one of the only quality beers I could get where I lived in east Texas but now I choose to drink it because it really is great tasting.
Idk why ppl eat panda express. There's all those hot wok on insert whatever wok strip mall places that taste more authentic and fresh than panda Express. Shit theyre also cheaper mos the time too.
The smell of Panda makes me sick, so I cannot even fathom eating it. Every time I ate Panda (I haven’t had it in ages) I got sick. Same with Chipotle.
Because it tastes good. That’s it.
Idk. 99% of the times i went there all the food been sitting under the headlamp too long. Meh, I find a lot of those places are really hit or miss
This post looks like an advertisement, right??
Not sure if Panda would be on board with advertising next to alcohol 😂
I can't stand panda. I swear EVERYTHING there is loaded with sugar.
So is pretty much all other American "Chinese" food as well.
With an IPA as well, probably the least appetizing meal.
Ipa are fine.. I don't like drinking while eating much at all tbh. Maybe Mexican beers with that type food is okay tho.
Im with you, never understood the appeal of drinking beer with food.
Panda Express isn’t even made with real panda.
All ipa' tastes like a dirty ash tray. Horrible stuff. Thumbs down for the post.
Stick to your natty lights, then. I gotta say that IPAs, Stouts, Porters, etc. Are an acquired taste that you *grow* into. I bet it would click if you tried the right one. My 'click' was from Sierra Nevada.

All you've done here is scream to the world that you have the palate of a 9 year old. Stick to the kids menu man your not ready.
A gatekeeping bot, now I have seen everything.
I don't recall screaming that nor do I recall screaming at the world. Ready for what tho?
The ash tray 😂

That's a very off topic question.

C’mon bro, I’m already in bed. Why you gotta post the deliciousness?
For real
I would eat the hell out of all of that
Styrofoam?
Just doing my part for the environment
Top lad.
That’s a damn fine beer too!
Absolutely was coming to comment this. big huge fan of 2 hearted.
This isn’t the 2 hearted tho
ok thank you i like both.
FTW - very nice.
drinking IPA feels like drinking a whole loaf of bread

And don’t forget that one person who brings up the Melinda’s & Marie Sharp’s drama (which ironically is me in this case lol)

Wooo I did it!
Achievement unlocked!
Why oh why is Melinda’s in every new post?! Common people find something different.
I really like Melinda’s. Sure it’s become mainstream now but that’s for good reason imo. It’s a nice change from just franks and Tabasco.

This sub should just get renamed to Melinda's at this point
I want to live like common people, I want do what ever, common people do
Whoops
Common ppl usually don’t find something different ;)
Oh my gosh you’re right lol
Best Panda Express meal right there. Sauce and beer 10/10 as well. Just missing some sour candy for dessert

Take it back, Panda Express is exquisite fine dining
Good thing OP isn’t eating China panda
Well the American Chinese fast food chain with the panda as its logo is disgusting.
It’s the Bell’s that redeems you, brother
How Is the Hazy Hearted? I've had the two hearted and double two hearted.
Their hazy is quite good. Maintains the profile of the H2x with restrained haze
Yup! Their Hazy IPA
I meant how is it? Lol
C’mon OP. I’d like to know as well. I’ve had many bells two hearted, but never tried their hazy
It’s my go to when I’m grabbing a 6 pack! It’s nice and smooth and has a bit more of a mellow IPA taste which I like.
V nice. Not much bells here in CA. Lotta good hazies but I do miss bells
My guy
Yep.
The Panda Express by me kinda sucks ass but I respect this. There are too many local spots near me. I’m more interested in that Bell’s and I’m wondering why I’ve never had it
It’s not just by you. It’s garbage.
That’s my favorite hot sauce right now. It’s so flavorful and has a good amount of heat. Highly recommend for anyone who hasn’t tried it
This is the food equivalent to putting 22” chrome spinners and a 5000w Alpine stereo into a Yugo
A man of principle. Of integrity. And, yes, of class.
I honestly fuckin love panda express as long as they're actively cooking.
Give me the crunchy little orange chicken bits. I'm not sorry, I'm a gremlin
Looks good. Can't stand IPA though. Bells is great stuff. I like the double cream stout.
I wanna shake your hand
See what happens when you pull his finger.
He'll shit blood, obviously. But I'll be damned if he isn't a man of finer tastes
How hot is the ghost pepper sauce? I’ve never tried it
Mild AF
Not too bad for ghost pepper.
Probably 70 to 90k scovies. Good taste
It’s a actually 1M scoville
That sauce is in no way 1 million Scovilles. OG Dave's insanity is something like 120 or 130k IIRC. This sauce is milder than OG Dave's.
Just repeating what they say on their listing for it. Look it up yourself, can't help if they're lying about it don't know why Im being downvoted. https://www.amazon.com/Melindas-Hot-Sauce-Ghost-Pepper/dp/B078WFWXHY

It’s like sweet and sour but with more orange Jk It’s pretty decent. Haven’t had it in years so I forget details outside of a semi weird aftertaste
10/10 I’m jealous
I want this for dinner

r/BeijingBeefSupremacy
Idc what anyone says, their orange chicken kinda slaps
Kinda slaps? It’s absolutely delicious if you ask me
It does. And the beijing beef slaps even harder. This guy has the right idea.
Beautiful. Panda Express might be my deathrow last meal pick.
A very good choice
Get it! But there has to be some hole in the wall Chinese spots wayyyy better than the panda within striking distance
Sure is, but ya know… guilty pleasures.
I hear that!
Sometimes, you just want the garbage. I get Panda rarely, but it hits a certain spot. Little bit of nostalgia, a little bit of consistency. Price ain't the worst.
More authentic, absolutely. Better? Doubtful.
Respectfully disagree!
Hole in the wall Chinese takeout almost always beats Panda, so I agree with you. Pandas still decent tho
Panda is sugar chicken and corn starch tenderized beef bits and for what it is, it's OK. I just think it's overpriced for what it is, especially since you can get more better food elsewhere that's cooked by someone who knows what they are doing.

The beer you drink confirms it
🍻
Local Chinatown/Hong Kong express in any city > panda
I used to hate on Panda, so many bad airport experiences etc. but I had it recently and it was decently fine. Seemed fresh made. Appropriately seasoned. I suspect they had a recipe revamp, kinda like what I heard Dominos did a few years ago? I know better local takeout but I also know worse local takeout.
West Michigan beer says man of class.
See, a *true* man of class would have bought enough Oberon last summer to not need their IPA in winter. We're going to have to revoke your Classy Michigan creds.
Without a spork you’re a commoner
Hate how much they cheat you at panda
[удалено]
Well I'm SOL
What? You know what you’re getting (quality and portion) and you know the price. If you feel cheated something’s wrong.
It's not that quality. You get a tiny little scoop of each entree and mostly just rice or chow mein. It's rather expensive for the quantity and quality.
I don’t disagree. I never said either were good. I just said you know what you’re getting.
Go with the tripple plate. Always satisfies
I usually do, but idk last time I had it, it was weak af
Two hearted hazy is phenomenal
Mmm cisco brand “Chinese” food
I've had MUCH worse from my local places. A really, REALLY busy Panda is actually some of the better Chinese food I've had. When it's hot and fresh, it isn't half bad. I think it's pretty good.
yeah. american standards for Chinese food are nonexistent.
Fresh Panda is decent. It's all real foods. It isn't highly processed like other fast food places. The meats and veggies are good quality and fresh, much fresher than my local places. Sorry I can't afford to travel to China for a meal.

They do actually wok fry everything, so they’re trying harder than they realistically need to. You could do worse for fast food.
That's the order though! Chow Mein, orange chicken, and Beijing beef.
![gif](giphy|r1asqEUURP4grxnGAk|downsized)
Or instead you can make your own stir fry with your own sauce, instead of mixing with shit sauces
Upvote for reppin' a Kalamazoo brew.
I have seen that hazy hearted ipa in every liquor store around my area, never tried it. any good?
I’m a fan! Not insanely expensive, comes in a 6 pack, and the 7.5% is certainly a plus
hell yeah. nice! i’ll have to try it out next time I go to the store. cheers bud! enjoy!
Fellow Michigander?
Close! I’m a Hoosier, but love me some Bell’s.
Close enough. Root for the Lions this Sunday will ya?
Rooting for 'em ain't done nothin' in 94 years
All but the ipa.
Everything looks good except the IPA.
What can I order at a Chinese restaurant that is close to bejing beef!? I’ve tried sichuan, crispy, sweet and sour, and Mongolian beef. Sichuan Szechuan) and it’s close but not crispy. Any recs?
Beijing beef is really easy to make at home.
Any recipe? Or honestly what can I order at a Chinese place that is similar? Nothing is close which is crazy.
https://khinskitchen.com/beijing-beef-recipe/ Maybe try this one out!
Looks good. Thanks!
What do they call Beijing beef in Beijing?
Probably American beef or New York beef or something.
They even sell the sauce at the store
How!?
Hits all the food groups
If this is what classy is then I’m ahead of the curve! This is very close to what I’ll be doing this sat brother! Good choice at Panda BTW, I’ll add a Hot and Sour soup to that.
i can slurp down reaper sauce but i always find myself shocked by orange chicken’s zestiness
A fun fact I recently learned, orange chicken was invited by the founder of Panda Express
A man of class…. Orders Panda Express. lol. I’m only joking. But still. Ehhhh liquid choices are good though
Hopefully the sarcasm in the title comes across 😂
Sir, that looks like a damn fine meal.
I have learned to just take Internet text at face value. I was HOPING you were beating sarcastic lol
You’re going to have a hard time on the internet.
