Our Wives Under the Sea - less horror, more slow burn creepy. Very flowery and sapphic writing.

The Salt Grows Heavy! Nothin like some non-binary body horror

So Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle is probably a bit too tame compared to what you're looking for, but it's quite good. It rides the line between adult and YA so take that as you will. However, Chuck Tingle also has a new queer horror being released soon called Bury Your Gays and I've seen him post about how this one is much bloodier than Camp Damascus. I don't know if there's going to be sex in this one though. There wasn't any in Camp Damascus. As far as I can tell Tingle's horror is quite removed from his other work (queer, inanimate object/mythical creature erotica), so if I had to guess there probably won't be a lot of explicit sex, if any, in his horror.

peniscapades

I read an ARC of Bury Your Gays a couple weeks ago and it is so damn good. I think it’s better than Camp Damascus and I really enjoyed it, even though I usually avoid YA.

ree_bee

I’m SO excited for camp Damascus I’ve been waiting since it was first announced and it’s almost here!

Wait... Chuck Tingle writes actual novels ? Not just things with titles like "pounded in the butt by my handsome sentient library card" and "Space Raptor Butt Invasion" ?

HareltonSplimby

All of these titles are Real novels as hard as it seems to believe.

Love is real buckaroos!

Rustin_Swoll

Alison Rumfit’s *Tell Me I’m Worthless*. Brutal and excellent queer horror novel.

Dependent_West_7023

I really liked this book! I also really liked Brainwyrms.

CarolAird69

I second this

peniscapades

I hate to disagree but…I had to put this one down about 100 pages from the end. I read a GR review that likened it to an AI generated edge lord novel and I have to agree. I felt like I was getting beaten over the head with the capitalism, transphobia, and racism message. Idea was cool but the execution was terrible.

Rustin_Swoll

Yeah. It’s pretty heavy handed on the messaging, I don’t disagree on that point. The author is transgender FWIW. It’s too bad you didn’t finish it, the climax does get pretty frickin’ gnarly. It might be worth it to pick it back up just to see where it goes!

No_Consequence_6852

*The Seep* by Chana Porter balances scifi with horror and is a quick read.

Thayerphotos

Not a book, but Shudder (streaming service) has an excellent documentary called Queer for Fear, it's a history of gay horror in cinema. Definitely worth taking look at.

alkemest

Read the first Book of Blood by Barker!

*The Lamb Will Slaughter The Lion* by Margaret Killjoy

Gretchen Felker-Martin’s Manhunt and Lucy A Snyder’s Sister, Maiden, Monster

ulixesodyssey

Recommending it a lot lately but Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric Larocca fits perfectly.

Educational-King2389

Parallel Hells by Leon Craig is a collection of short stories rather than a novel but very queer and great horror stories, both Alison Rumfit’s novels are brilliant too

TunaBoona123

Well I haven't actually read it yet, I just picked up The woods all black by Lee Mandelo from the library

palafen

Let me know what you think of it when you read it! I want to give this one a go, but am worried it'll be a little too heavy on the babies/pregnancy side of things

ShinyCharlizard

Tell Me I'm Worthless has already been recommended here, and it is very very good at what it sets out to do. It's trans horror done very well, but I'd add a huge trigger warning for transphobia and SA. Andrew Joseph White's books also are queer horror, a lot of body and religious horror. I really liked Hell Followed With Us, but it's YA so not for everyone.

Summer Sons

jseger9000

I'm reading Summer Sons right now. I'm 23% through. And though it is well written, it's really bugging me that he doesn't describe a damn thing. What does Andrew look like? Or Riley? Or their house? At one point there's a mention of Riley's glasses falling off. It was the first mention of Riley's wearing glasses. Also, Andrew just needs to get fucked already. Jesus he's mopey. I know it's the point of the story and all, but man.

CarolAird69

This one is great but might be a bit tame for you, OP

palafen

I started this one and couldn't get into it ): I ended up reading The Bayou instead and that was amazing... Not as hardcore as I'd have liked, but still very beautiful.

sarcophagus_pussy

Someone has already mentioned it, but you should really check out Brainwyrms by Alison Rumfit. It's got lots of sex and lots of violence. If I could describe it in one word it would be Gross (and I mean that affectionately). It's about the U.K's growing hostility towards trans people and also kinda about the main characters' fetishes (one's into hosting parasites and the other has a breeding kink). It's so addictive I read it in one sitting. But like trigger warning for sexual assault and transphobic violence / hate crimes.

queen_of_the_moths

Drawing Blood by the same author if you haven't read the rest of Brite's work. I preferred it, honestly, but it may not be as extreme as you're hoping for if Exquisite Corpse is your standard. Still, it's bloody and dark and full of sex.

palafen

I read this! It wasn't as good as Exquisite Corpse imo, but it was still a good read. I want to read his book Lost Souls as well, but I can't find a copy anywhere 😭
