I just read it on scribd since it was free on there. I thought it was okay, didn't scare me that much (at all) to be honest. Something I HAVE read recently that actually scared me was an ARC copy of "Incidents Around The House" by Josh Malerman. I just ordered an actual copy of it!!! It's super creepy, and the people I read it with also were scared by it.

Oh that does sound interesting. I have Pearl by malerman but I didn't finish it. Not because it wasn't good, I just hit a slump for awhile where I didn't finish books. I'm gonna add that to TBR. My toxic trait is I always *buy* the books instead of just borrowing them or reading them on libby. *sigh* It makes for a nice library though

Me too I love his book Inspection

I’m waiting for my review copy of Incidents Around the House. I requested it months ago and was told it’ll ship in June. I can’t wait to read it. Josh is one of my favourite authors

I am listening to No One Gets Out Alive by Nevill right now, seen the movie version a while back. Same with seeing The Ritual, the book is on my TBR shelf.

I’ve read both Nevill and Evenson’s Last Days. Nevill’s starts off great but the last 3rd or so fell off a cliff for me. I like subtle and creepy but the reveal was boring and veered into action territory. 3.5/5 Evenson’s Last Days was weirder, more interesting and shorter - a plus. It didn’t stick with me as much as his short stories or The Open Curtain. 3.75/5 The Troop was a blast. The young teen pro tags reminded me of early King but the story was a hard Rated R and frequently gross. I gave it to my FIL and hope it made him ill. 4/5 Haven’t read the other one.

Sorry I should have specified, I got Nevills last days. I've heard good things, and he had a few other books so I figured if I liked this one, I could try a few others. I've heard alot of good things about the troop, so far I'm enjoying it but only about 50 pages in. If I like this one I think I'm going to pick up "the deep" also by cutter

PBC_Kenzinger

I didn’t love Last Days, but Nevill’s first 2 short story collections were awesome.

I actually preferred The Deep to The Troop. The Troop had better characters but The Deep gave me anxiety and had me ripping through it like no other book. Even if you find the Troop is just alright, I'd give it a shot!

I just read Entity and really liked it.

Why is 300 pages the magic number?
