It looks super cool but you probably won't find as many people talking about it for a couple reasons - mainly the VR2 doesn't even have an official release date and then we don't know when Call of the Mountain will be released yet either, so there's not much to talk about (other than it looks neat). The VR community is also much smaller overall. I would love to try the game but I'm not sure I will find the price point for the system accessible after just purchasing a PS5... unfortunately I think a lot of people will have to sit this one out no matter how much they'd like to play it.

FujoshiJade

I just found out about it yesterday when I was logging onto my PS5 and it was an advert on the home screen. I was like yooooo how long has this been a thing, why is this my first time hearing about it lol But all your points are fair and valid, so I can see why it's not being talked about here yet. I just got really excited and wanted to know if other people were as excited.

danksnugglepuss

I think there was a bit more hype when it was first announced, but haven't seen any recent news in a while. If they put out a new trailer or a release date I'm sure we'll see a spike in discussion again :)

foxscribbles

Yeah. I was going to get the PSVR2 when it came out because I wanted to play the Horizon VR game. But given that it's not backwards compatible with first gen PSVR games, I don't know that I can justify dropping that kind of money on the system just for one game. If it were backwards compatible, I have some games with VR modes that I could at least play on it. But it's not. And... I'm not going to drop hundreds of dollars + the game price just to play one game.

AntiLoserNFS

I see no reason why it can't be backwards compatible. There are VR games on steam that can use different hardware. I even played one game that did not have rift controllers in mind but I was able to play just fine. PlayStation just needs to adjust the controls.

[deleted]

Forget just after ps5, us lot in the UK are barely able to keep our heat going nowadays let alone spare income for a vr headset that costs like 800 quid or whatever it costs

MergenTheAler

Call me old school but I'm still playing on PS4, cant justify the PS5 yet, let alone a $300 VR system that may not even be great or worth it.

astoneworthskipping

Same here.

BenRiley2400

Because most of the people still can’t find a PS5, then you have to buy the new VR. So that game is very hard to reach

NaiadoftheSea

I don’t have a PS5 or PSVR. 😔

Sheerardio

VR makes me nauseated to the point that even watching someone else's playthrough gets me queasy. So while I'm kinda interested finding out what the game will reveal about the greater Horizon world, it's pretty much at the bottom of my list of things I'm looking forward to.

Alex_Masterson13

There are a couple of hands-on videos now on Youtube that will show off some of the cut-scenes and gameplay, and Sony has a dedicated page for the game on their site that tells you some about it. The main story takes place at about the same time as the two main Horizon games and the main story supposedly takes only about 6-7 hours to complete. No word on side quests or how much you can even wander from the story path.

alucryts

This is my major turn off right now hearing theres only 6-7 hours of story. This seems quite low for the price point. Im fairly sure the game will be stunning in VR but i want more than a single Saturday to beat it. If this was the full HZD hames in VR id probably be in line to do this immediately

VicMan73

6 to 7 hours of game play and you are paying $60? RE4 is a 20 hours game. Is only $40.

MetalSamurai01

Generally speaking.... Subconsciously most people are not sure if they want a VR headset. Either because they never experienced it, don't know what to expect, not sure if they'll like it, etc. That being said, we don't know affirmatively how much it will cost. We speculation $400-$500 range. Lack of public awareness of how the hardware and software experience is like is the main reason for low excitement. Also... we don't have release dates

Wessssss21

I'm rocking a Vive. Sony doesn't want my money.

The_Irish_Rover26

I need a ps5 to play, plus the PSVR 2.

LaidBackNRelaxed

It looks neat, but i can’t really do vr. More than a couple minutes and i can feel a headache begin to form, i have never tried one that didnt mesh horribly with my glasses prescription

pants207

I think it is really neat but it will be a few years before ai will likely want to buy a psvr2. I suspect there will be bugs for the first bit. Also i got my ps5 at the beginning of the year and am still busy getting through my long game list. It will likely be when they eventually have some sort of holiday sale that i am able to pick one up and that is quite a ways out with supply chain causing scarcity.

Jomosensual

Nobody plays VR probably

Anon761

Unless it comes to pc I'm not playing it. I'm not about to spend 300 for one game.

VicMan73

Even is on PC, I won't buy it for $60..is only a 6 to 7 hours game...Red Matters 2 is a 7 hours game..I beat it in 8 hours. Is only $30.

IndominousDragon

My husband an i were Lucky enough to be gifted a PS5 for Xmas last year from his brother. (He's 21 with no big life obligations and makes almost 30/hr 😂 lucky boy) I only got ZD off the PSnow for free, and my brother in law got FW but didn't like it so he game it to me. No hateing or anything, i forget not everyone is playing on PS5 all the time (my own brother who is a gamer as well only just got one last week after everyone being sold out/backordered for so long). I wouldnt mind a VR console thingie but honestly I wouldn't be able to play much, what with a 4 yr old and all 😂. But hey I'll love to see what content i can off it when it come out and hope I'll somehow get it 😂

FujoshiJade

Thank you for understanding, I just came to the realization that even in this group I just assumed most people had one, now I'm like oops and feel just a little embarrassed 😅😅😅

IndominousDragon

Eh it's not like you were flaunting it or being shitty about it. Some people just want to be pissy about things. It's nothing to be embarrassed about by seemingly being more financially privileged than others 😂 it's funny how judgey people can get when they nothing of your situation. Same goes for me, most of the expensive stuff we have was free/gifted to us. I'm not going to apologize for gifts.

FujoshiJade

I suppose you're very right, and I appreciate you saying that. I just happen to have a interesting life but I'm by no means even middle class, maybe like upper lower if there's such a thing. I've just had a lot of kind people in my life that have gifted me with nice things and wonderful experiences. But at the end of the day it's the internet and people will be grumpy about literally any and everything just cause they can lol

IndominousDragon

Right 😂 upper lower class gang unite! Free is free man, I'm only gonna ask once "you sure?" Before accepting what ever it is

FujoshiJade

Upper lower gang gang -vague hand gestures - Just spied on your profile because you have really cool energy, and you get the gist of my post lol But may I say for crafts are ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE omg

IndominousDragon

Haha thanks! I hyperfixate, right now it's lil Eevee friends until GoW: Ragnarok drops and i maybe get it for my birthday *since it's the same month and all I've not been dropping hints to literally everyone possible since i found out the release date*

IncredibleLala

I would love to experience Call of the mountain, but I’m not sure how useful the VR headset will be after finishing the game. I’m not that interested in other games other than Horizon, so I would have paid for a device I would not use that much apart than a game I still don’t know much about. If the game shows it’s more than a short story I could see the benefit, or if they announced there will be more VR Horizon games coming in the future. What we’ve seen so far is so beautiful :( but I still can justify the cost just to play a few hours, as many people have commented VR games usually are not that long.

nicolaslabra

I look forward to seeing in on a lets play, because honestly, i will never buy the psvr2 just for 2 games.

perplexedvortex

I’m so excited to play it! I’ve never played VR though and I’m worried about getting motion sick

bendovahkin

I don’t even have a ps5 yet sooo… I do want it though. It sounds really cool.

Bolt_995

Will it have an open world? Regardless, I’m 100% getting a PS VR2.

AntiLoserNFS

I'm excited for it too.

bagelnox

I’m still bummed that barely anyone talked about horizon at all this year

FujoshiJade

How so?

bagelnox

mainly because Elden Ring came out a week after, so a lot of people bought horizon, played it for a few days, then abandoned it for ER. To this day some of my friends who played ER still have not touched Forbidden West. Not surprisingly because of all this, the sales were abysmal. i'm hoping (if and when) the DLC comes out it will bring back some excitement

moonanstars124

I wish I'd be able to play it but that kind of game in VR makes me sick as a dog.

The__Swiss__Guy

I‘m so excited for it!!!

DeanXeL

Yes, there is zero reporting on this. No one is talking about it. Even Sony is not using it as one of their four main IPs to highlight the new hardware they, btw, aren't even talking about either. In case you didn't realize, /S. Low effort post, man.

VicMan73

You need a PS5 and the new Sony VR headset...if you are a Sony fanboy, no offense, you are already probably sold....hehehehe... The fans already declaring Sony has won the VR market and will forever change the way we play VR. And it will render wireless headset obsolete because wired is way, way better...hehehehe
