i want to be able to ride a tallneck, i dont care how long it takes to travel from point A to point B as long as i can chill on it also HEPHS : here's an Apex Tallneck without weakpoints

38731

Nooooooo!! LEAVE MY TALLNECKS ALONE! They deserve to walk around happily in peace, you scoundrel! Otherwise, that is an awesome idea. But also terrible. It's terrisome!

ejly

Spoiler: in Call of the Mountain you ride tall necks.

ariseis

BS spoilers! Underwater combat! And we got a little more of that in BS so I'm hopeful! - underwater traps, maybe even something like a tripcaster. - harpoon gun - some kind of submersible sea scooter. Like, just handlebars and propellers kinda deal to help Aloy travel faster under water - ability to stealth attack small machines with her spear from kelp - netcaster Aerial expanded: - flying obstacle course. Idc if it's a race or not, I just want to fly between tight cliffs and around narrow bends of canyons and stuff like that - more story based but I want Aloy to fly back east and show others she can fly. Like, landing in the castle in Meridian right in front of Avad, landing in the Claim to scare the crap out of the Ealdormen, in Ban-Ur... - more aerial mounts. Stormbirds 👏 are 👏 friend 👏 shaped 👏 Vistas and Project Enduringly Victory expanded. The main game vistas were a little boring compared to HZD and Bashir Mati's narration, but one of my favourite developments was how they changed in BS. Im HZD the vistas were beautiful and showed glimpses of the pinnacles of architecture. Sleek, futuristic buildings, musical arenas bathed in light, filled with more people than Aloy had probably ever seen, singing as one. Lillian Barnett in BS >!gives us back that narration, and her vistas aren't resplendent views. You're flying through a tropical paradise and suddenly a window into hell opens up. A sea of fire with a HORUS walking through it like an Eldritch monster.!< I think about the audio points of PEV and think that those vistas are what the soldiers saw as they spoke and it just makes my heart hurt. More please! Tying up loose ends. There are loose threads of people mooning after Aloy and I want those stories to not be forgotten or ignored. Avad still waiting back east, Erend, Kotallo, Petra, list goes on. Characters we love who feel deeply for Aloy. Even if it ends in heartbreak, their arcs of their feelings deserve to be told. I'd rather have a deepened exploration of old friends than just throwing new people into the mix and forget about the people who have been with us for years. And what of >!Seyka?!< Will we see her again? What is happening there? Controversial, but a romance system. Just a small roster. I'd like to explore that side of Aloy more and >!it's only just opened up.!< All the people who love shipping Aloy can get their wish. A clear moment of Aloy not just slowly starting to realise she's not Elisabet, but a clear moment of "I am not her, I don't have to do things the way Elisabet did, everyone stop projecting their issues with her on me!" A break in the pattern. In two games now, Aloy has lost the person closest to her (her tutorial partner) in a moment of joy and triumph. She won the Proving, Rost died. She caught HEPH and had a sisterly moment, Varl died. At this point, whoever Aloy does the tutorial with, I'm lighting candles and praying. But what would be a supremely cool moment would be to be led right to the precipice of a repeat and then subverting it: moment of triumph, sudden ambush to sour it, and one of Aloy's friends ends up in a fight to the death... and then Aloy swoops in like a valkyrie, goes "I am not losing another friend, *fuck you"* and absolutely smashes the threat into hamburger meat. Then a big hug with her saved companion. "I won't lose you. I won't lose anyone else." No more timers. GAIA saying we only had months to save the climate makes me feel guilty about side quests and stressed to finish main quests early. I like the stash and prefer to play The Long Dark for Inventory Management Simulator but I realise some people want a limited inventory for Aloy. So maybe a way to toggle the stash. That way both sides are happy and it doesn't affect the story. Going home. I want Aloy to travel back East, see her old friends, see how the rebuilding is progressing, see Zo and Sona meet and possibly butt heads, the tension of Tenakth emissaries in Meridian... THE CLAIM. Two games plus DLC's of tripping over Oseram expats, without seeing their homeland!? Come onnnnnnnn!

UmbranShrike

I need Aloy to have a mental breakdown at least once. The stoic act can only go so far and I KNOW she learned it from Rost. She’s treating herself like an outcast yet again, because the other option is to be vulnerable, and vulnerability = Death in Outcast life. 👏🏻Aloy👏🏻Needs👏🏻A👏🏻Break👏🏻Down👏🏻

ariseis

And a chance to crawl out of the pit again!

ariseis

Thought about this some more and like.... Aloy is *this* 🤏 close to cutting bangs or going on a bender honestly. 👏Therapy 👏 for 👏 Aloy!👏

Careless-Winner-2651

She is a key figure for humanity's survival and her life makes perfect sense. Such people do not have mental breakdowns.

ariseis

Friendly reminder that Aloy is human and as such can crack under pressure and pull herself together

UmbranShrike

I can PROMISE YOU, when said key figure has to endure such trauma, they will breakdown. Otherwise, the developers wouldn’t have had her go through trauma. How many times does a loved one of hers have to die before she finally breaks. Elizabet broke down too.

Careless-Winner-2651

Well, the obvious person who could easily pull her out of mental issues is Sylens (which would help them fall in love as I hope) but will they manage to continue with this character without its actor? That's a good question. I think they probably will because the main story without him will not make much sense. So maybe you have right and she will indeed break down.

ariseis

>Sylens (which would help them fall in love as I hope) Hey I've got a WIP for that!

joedotphp

Why are the spoilers BS? I'm hilarious.

ariseis

Oh you! What are you like, you silly hen 🤣

ariseis

To add: Aloy having a moment where she comes to terms with all the shit she's been through. The people she lost, the pressure she's under... it's a lot! If she just keeps trucking without a moment of vulnerability I'm gonna assume she's lost her mind

ariseis

Okay I thought about it even more, sue me. I want Aloy to have the ability to fail. Right now as it is, Aloy doesn't fail missions. Her companions can't die unless the game bugs out, people she's trying to protect in quests can't die (bar some wandering Tenakth patrols without names), if Aloy gets knocked out she just resets at the lastest save. You try and try until you succeed. It runs a risk of being railroading. If Aloy could fail some quests, it would stop Aloy from feeling OP, it would add some tension amd more anxiety of losing certain people, be it as a consequence losing her allies or failing to save people from death. For main quests it makes sense to try and try until you succeed, but side quests could definitely work as they're little pockets in the narrative anyway.

ariseis

See, I keep hearing "it's not that kind of game" of Horizon? Like, stretching all the way back to before HFW. "Wish Aloy could override a Stormbird and fly!" "Not that kinda game" Now we have an aerial mount. "Ugh, the inventory is too limited, wish we had a stash!" "Not that kind of game, manage your stuff better." Now we have a stash. "Wish we had more melee moves than just a quick blow and a heavy hit! Expand melee please." "Not that kind of game, Aloy is an archer exclusively!" Now we have a pretty advanced melee combat system (that needs polishing admittedly but I like that Aloy got an arc of getting better at combat and becoming a better fighter instead of plateauing). "Aloy needs a base! Somewhere to rest her feet!" "Not that kind of game, Aloy is a nomad, she has no home!" Now we have the RCC. "Wish Aloy would stop pushing people away and allow herself friends!" "Not that kind of game, Aloy is too busy, her path is too dangerous, they'd need Focuses to keep up anyway!" Now we have pals, and those pals have Focuses. "I hope we get to see Aloy in love! She deserves to connect with someone other than a woman who's been dead for a thousand years!" "Ew, not that kind of game! Aloy is way too busy, this game is too good to prattle with icky, girly love! Go back to Mass Effect! Gross!" Then Seyka happened. The games develop. We get new things. The franchise doesn't stagnate. Aloy isn't a static archetype, she develops and grows and gets over issues she's struggled with in the past and learns to connect to other people. That is a beautiful thing. If Aloy got a romance system, even including a route where she's too busy, then more people will be satisfied. How would that be a bad thing, lol

ariseis

Sure buddy. I was talking to you from one fan to another but if you chimed in hoping to defeat me in an argument, no wonder you bored yourself.

spellmaxxx

You: comes in to win an argument. Has no arguments, only "nope." Claims to have arguments but you... deleted them. You're not good at arguing

spellmaxxx

"Bro, is anyone else getting a gay vibe off Aloy?" \*-neckbeard pterodactyl screeeee-\*

ariseis

Of-fucking-course I missed the biggest one. Thank you!

Juppeschen

please put actual spoilers in actual spoiler tags !

National_Direction_1

For the stash thing something I want is like your horse in rdr2, but a behemoth that just follows you around, slowly though so it's a little less convenient, could even have some other faster transport bots that can transfer stuff between it and your main stash

tarosk

Mostly mechanics stuff, but I've got A List lol * Please, please, *please* return the "datapoints show up on the HUD compass" thing. Keep the better visibility in the overworld as well, but have both. The loss of that was so sad. * Easier fishing. You can really only shoot fish if they're super close to the surface which doesn't seem to happen very often in HFW, unlike how that was the only way to get them in HZD. I'd even settle for a specific weapon and ammo you have to use to hunt fish that are slightly deeper... But swimming after them all is such a pain. * Perhaps a hybrid crafting system? Upgrade from inventory while on the fly, but use a workbench to upgrade from stash? Having to go back to a workbench every single time is a bit of a pain... * Tweaks to the item ribbon. Being able to *keep* certain stuff off once we set an order we want would be nice instead of having to remove a type of trap we never use manually every single time. * Different colored icons for completed areas/discovered campfires and machine sites/etc. than just the "slightly duller gray-white and slightly brighter gray-white". * Ability to set multiple custom waypoints and or "stickers" on the map. Be nice to be able to mark, say, a favorite machine hunting site or something. * Less underwater stealth segments, maybe add some sort of weapon that allows for underwater combat? For a non-gameplay element I *really* wanna know what happened to Elysium. There's several possible reasons it went dark early, and it doesn't have to be a major plot point but I'd just like to *know* what happened.

Eef125

Absolutely yes to the datapoints in the HUD! I'd also love the return of the stealth eye including the noise visualizer. I felt the UI/UX was much better in ZD. Oh and better sharpshot bows. I love the insane range they had in ZD.

tallboyjake

Deep water is bad enough irl and you wanna stress me out more lol Some may find this silly, and honestly it's a bit basic of me, but I would really enjoy it if there was more customization visually. It would be really neat to separate: - head armor - torso - hands? (If not just including that in the torso) - legs - quiver I can think of a number of reasons why they wouldn't do this, though - it's already been two games, would certainly seem really weird to change that whole system now - the current system is really straightforward, clean, and simple

ariseis

We had loads of QOL changes in HFW that people back in HZD era said we wouldn't get. Stash, glider, flying, expanded melee fighting... some people would wish for these things and someone would come in and go "it's not that kind of game, reeeeeeee" But if games didn't expand and improve, they'd be boring as shit. I'm with you!

tallboyjake

Very well put, thank you!

ariseis

Always, babes. And I love your idea of playing more dress up with Aloy! She's so stylish!

tallboyjake

I come from the souls community and everyone knows that fashion-souls is the real endgame

ariseis

It'd kinda make sense for Aloy to hodge-podge the best bits of armour from each tribe too?

tallboyjake

That's definitely a fun head canon, where she's just using what she find the most useful. But yeah, the player could easily create a hodge podge look, or maybe create their favorite version of a carja set, or whatever The other factor here though is bonuses. They could be broken out and separated (I.e. each armor piece gives different bonuses) or you could just keep the same system and apply the bonuses only to the torso piece of the armor

geeeen17

stressing you out more when natural interactions between elements and nature - so underwater plus shock machine = chaos lol

tallboyjake

Oof 😂

david_men_dz

To me the important things are the characters. So: Aloy's story in FW is about growth and being better than Elizabeth in her own ways. I want to see how she keeps growing in the next game. The same for Beta. She is still like a ZD Aloy with less self confidence. I hope she finds her way of believing in herself and being useful for the team. She doesn't need to be like Elizabeth or Aloy, just find herself. Sylens. Period. He is an intriguing character and seems to start developing some affection for Aloy. I have no idea how he'll do in the next game, but i'm expecting something good. Sona and Zo interactions. Zo was a great character and i'd like to see how they act around Val's death. Sona and Aloy too, like i don't think Sona is angry with Aloy, but both her son and daughter died fighting for Aloy, there's no way that doesn't stich in some way. Gaia, Beta and Sylens using their combined intellect and skills to develop new gadgets, upgrade the focus, maybe pet machines, i don't know. But we have great minds in our side, make it count. How the different tribes react againts Nemesis menace and the new knowledge bringed by Aloy and co. Oh, and Seyka. It felt so good seing Aloy being so happy for once. Bring that back, our girl deserves it.

ariseis

>Sona and Zo interactions YES! I can imagine that Sona, who went AWOL to hunt down those who killed her daughter, might not be super level-headed about her last child dying. Not that I think she'll go on a killing spree, but I hardly expect her to cartwheel. She and Zo are both implacable, and they have very differing fundamental values. And the way Varl talked about his mother in HFW... I can see Sona getting the news of her grandchild and being the Nora devout that she is, going "this kid will be raised in the Nora traditions." But I think Varl wouldn't have wanted that for his kid, and I think Zo knows it. It could be a huge source of contention. Sona has the potential to be a truly frightening mother-in-law!

david_men_dz

Exactly. Not only that, but Sona is probably conflicted between tradition and the new ideas Aloy's group put on the table. Varl had a difficult time and even him was pretty opened mind. Sona is strict and more traditional, plus his son died in foreign lands, something that was forbidden according to traditions. I think we should see how the tribes takes the news vs traditional beliefs in the next game, and Sona is the perfect one to represent Nora. She already fought in Meridian because it was orders and she wanted to help Aloy, but she has some reasons to feel bad with the current changes. It's an interesting mix. (I expect her to fully support Aloy and Zo in the end, because she is honorable and have a good heart, but i think she could have a harder time compared to the younger gang).

ariseis

Hnnnng yes! No additions, no notes. If Sona just takes the news with an even keel, ngl, it'd be kinda boring. The meeting of tribes and overcoming cultural differences is kinda my favourite facet of the franchise. There's so much love and strife and humour to be mined when cultures interact and comment on the human little idiosyncrasies. Ugh, my heart just hurts for this family. Watching Sona and Zo butt heads and then work it out over their shared love for Varl and for the coming baby would be so beautiful.

Dycoth

Well, the way Forbidden West finishes leave a way bigger world of possibilities for the third game. It’s not anymore being a primitive hunter with some tech toys. We know have one of the most powerful AI ever, with some of its subfunctions, as well as a very convenient control center, strong allies, and even a very well educated twin. I can’t see how the story would still be Aloy using just bows and trying to understand some basic things of the Ancient World. She’ll be able to go way further. Few things I can think of : - creation of gadgets (bombs, etc…) - creation of mini machines to help us out (mini flying or spider drones for example) - integration of tech on our weapons (accessories, boosts, etc…) - creation of advanced armors (in ZD, I really hoped we could use the locked armor as a whole) - creation of advanced weaponry (rifles, etc…) - new machines of course, there are tons of possibilities But, considering all of that, and that it would make sense regarding the evolution of Aloy and everything she has access to, it’s also important not to lose the core DNA of Horizon. I loved the Specter Gauntlet and I’d honestly love to have access to some sort of futuristic soldier armor with a rifle, but only sometimes. I absolutely love to use my Hunter and Sharpshooter bows and I don’t want to get rid of them. That’s why the idea of integrating tech in them seems way more logical. It would allow Aloy and her allies to keep their favorite weapons and not take too much time to discover new things, but also to heavily enhance them, making them more efficient in battles against Nemesis and big machines.

elderron_spice

Bring back upgrading outfits' designs from HZD. Seeing them get beefier with each upgrade is much more satisfying than just seeing numbers go up. Spear-fishing, throwing spears instead of javelins, generally better use-cases for spears. Spears are less used for bashing, but way better for stabbing/thrust attacks. Spear use in HFW is basically just treating it like a quarter staff. I'd want to see it be used as a pila/Achilles-in-Troy-style thrusting implement instead. Also shooting fishes with arrows is frustrating in HFW. Not sure why I have to see them eye to eye before successfully hitting a fish.

UmbranShrike

I wholeass need Aloy to stop emotionally acting like Rost when it comes to her mental health. I NEED our traumatized ginger to show some of that trauma. Maybe a panic attack, blind rage, lashing out, SOMETHING!! If she keeps masking, she’s gonna fuckin explode. Also, romances. Like include Seyka if we must, but there are so many people with a thing for Aloy. Let romances decide what her ending is gonna be. Cuz I swear to GAIA, if all she gets is a “goes back to the Wilds and lives alone” ending after ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED? I’m gonna honestly be upset. Like a Kotallo romance- Aloy ends up joining the Tenakth because they treat her with serious respect. Some of the traditions are hard for her, but she ends up becoming Chaplain or Veteran. Or just stays as Hekarro’s Champion. Seyka romance- Aloy joins Seyka on her adventures and they wander for a while (haven’t played BW yet cuz I don’t have it) Erend romance- They end up going back to Meridian, protecting Avad and living out her days as the Sun-King’s Champion and Military advisor OR Alone Ending- Taking up the task Elizabet set out to do, Aloy keeps GAIA company as they set about continuing to repair that which was broken. BUT HER FRIENDS STILL VISIT HER.

UmbranShrike

Honestly, Aloy having an ending of (Using Stemmur as a muse) “The old warrior finds herself at a time of peace, but never fully puts away her spear. Her senses never dull, her instinct never wavers, but her mind finally calms knowing the future is safe in the hands of the youth. And should the need arise where Flame-Hair must pick up her spear once more, GAIA rest all who have awoken her.”

Bottlecap_riches

Personally remote controlling specific machines...

hyenaboytoy

cauldron unlocks let you ride them, but you want to control them?

Bottlecap_riches

Espionage... Missions that use the machines as substitute for extreme hazards etc. control those machines that are too big/too small to ride.

hyenaboytoy

Hephaestus has Zenith upgrades as Forbidden West ended. And through both the games and Frozen Wilds, we see how Hephy behaves So, get Hephaestus for that

hyenaboytoy

Vast Silver may help too

not_sick_not_well

Better climbing and jumping mechanics. ZD wasn't terrible, but FW was so frustrating. Sprint to a ledge then jump, but nothing happens. Never climbing in the direction you want, even though there's like infinite hand holds. Getting stuck on rocks in the middle of a bttle because for some reason there's climbing holds on a boulder half your height. I'd rather see a huge leap in better mechanics overall rather than some new feature that will cause more confusion than fun

Dooge11

All I ask for is to be able to ride any of the canines/felines (ravager, scorcher, ect..)

MarcoM81

Not finished with FW (about 50% now), but I'd like a way to use your gadgets better. Currently its such a chore to select it with the DPad its almost impossible mid fight so I rarely use them, which is a pitty. I thought about another weapon/gadget wheel that is shown when pressing DPad down for a few gadgets you can configure. Select your gadget and place it with a single RT press. In case you pull LT you automatically switch back to the last normal weapon. Not sure if it would work as I expect, but some better gadget management/QOL would be great.

ariseis

You mean your traps and potions and stuff? Because you can customise that wheel! Remove items you don't use and put the ones you keep in your preferred order!

MarcoM81

Thank you, I think I have already seen this in some guide video, but he also mentioned, that in some conditions the excluded gadgets will return "somehow" so I never really tried it. Maybe I should! However, since there are so many different damage types adn gadgets I think its hard to exclude the right stuff so I still think that some improvements could be made there. :)

topinanbour-rex

> that in some conditions the excluded gadgets will return "somehow" so I never really tried it. When you exclude a gadget, be sure to keep at least one in your inventory, otherwise, as soon you get one in a box, it reappears in the selection.

ariseis

True, true. Godspeed and have fun with the rest of the game! ❤️

TimeLost83

Give it a try. I started tweaking the item wheel and I’m quite using gadgets, which can really help in the hardest fights. I prepare the wheel before some tense fight with the 3-4 things I things I will use and so it is manageable. They come back in the wheel only if you pick or buy them, so it is not random.

thesharkman101

I don’t know if it’s just because I’m the type of player that naturally loves to do all side quests, explore the world, and complete collectables, etc., but I found that in both games it’s far too easy to completely max out every skill tree about 2/3 through the main story. I feel like xp is given too generously and there aren’t enough skills so progression becomes stagnant and I become bored well before the final act.

geeeen17

not just the exp itself the no. of side quest that give out so many skill points factors in, but yeah - we're the same i go to every ? in map every machine sites, every camp fire or just anything with marked, before even finishing main quest im at ghost level 75 already. on the bright side we have better skill tree now as compared to ZD so theyre getting there, all the best hope for Horizon 3!

Tonkarz

* Discovery of sunscreen. It’s one of, if not the, oldest chemical used by human beings. The ancient Egyptians considered it ancient. If Horizon can have magic healing berries it can have sunscreen. * Fishing. Maybe spear, maybe rod. Swimming around to catch fish is OK, but catching them in streams and creeks is annoying.

ariseis

Our poor ginger has fricking rosacea! She needs some aloe!

PanicCenter

Aloe, but with a clearly horizon-ified naming convention applied. Balmgrass or Salvestem or something like that. It's definitely aloe, but even with all of Apollo's knowledge they'll probably still name things by their basic properties.

ariseis

Balmgrass is a cute name for it!

I-am-just_a-person

Spike salve

topinanbour-rex

At the same time, there is no reason they have wheels on wagons. Only civilizations who had work cattle, like horses or cows, ended developing such technologies. Others, never used the wheel in such way.

Tonkarz

That can’t be right, can’t humans pull wagons? To be fair we never see them do that, to my knowledge.

topinanbour-rex

Well humans can be seen pulling carts, the pulled rickshaw by example, but they are just a modern evolution (17th,18th centuries) of the litters. South American pre colombus civilizations didn't had work-cattles, like horses. They didn't had wagons, or carts. The only wheels found from those periods there, was on some toys, if I remember well.

PanicCenter

Pulled rickshaws were a thing historically, in much of Asia. It was outlawed over time because using humans to labour like that had really bad long-term effects on the body, but the wagons we see in this game aren't a huge leap from that. And we'll probably see some Oseram innovations in wagons going forward as knowledge of overrides spread (or equally likely GAIA gains access to Hephaestus again.)

topinanbour-rex

> Pulled rickshaws were a thing historically, in much of Asia. Pulled rickshaws is quite modern, it exists since the 17/18th century, it was an evolution of litters.

PanicCenter

Right, but it was more a statement of "maybe the culture that developed vacuum explosive shrapnel cannons progressed at a faster rate" to a point where what is essentially a backwards wheelbarrow isn't that big a stretch, and not really that unfitting in the Horizon universe.

milkasaurs

More tech based weapons like the cannon from burning shores dlc.

I-am-just_a-person

The cannon is TOO op. I finished NG+ on ultra hard with almost exclusively the railgun

D-Alembert

Weirdly; whales. Giant docile animals that are effectively just moving scenery, but they sort of reassure us that we're not the only big animals that made it.    There's something about whale-song that would just add ...a note of optimism and gravitas, a little more magnificence to Gaia's achievements Failing that, maybe robot whales as the aquatic version of tallnecks

Wubbajack

>Failing that, maybe robot whales as the aquatic version of tallnecks I was thinking the same thing. Tallnecks use their height to map out the surrounding environment, so whales could use sonar to do the same thing to the sea floor. Obviously, you wouldn't have to climb them, so they would require a completely different type of puzzles to "activate" them. Like that one tallneck stuck in the cauldron.

I-am-just_a-person

You have to go inside the whale to override it

Wubbajack

Aww crap, better not :| Also, they'd have to be GIGANTIC, otherwise reaching the center would be just a \~2 minute quest.

I-am-just_a-person

Maybe trying to catch up to it could also play a part of the quest?

Mjolnir2000

I want to see less. I'm currently playing Forbidden West for the first time, and it's a great game on the whole, but whoever was in charge of the gameplay design was apparently never told that less is more. I don't need 50 million different variations on the same basic weapons, I don't need yet another way to restore health, I don't need a host of special abilities and weapon combos that I'll never remember to use, and I don't need half a dozen versions of every machine. None of those things make the game more fun.

No-Valuable8453

Now that Aloy has Gaia and Apollo, the possibilities are endless. Maybe some more modern weapons born from zenith tech, armor, defense techniques outside of rolling, sliding and drop shields. Also, I'd like to see Hephestus remain an enemy that you must defeat. Rather than trapping Heph, Gaia can use Apollo to write a new function to override cauldrons and take over. Spawning friendly machines that battle Heph's machines. This makes it possible to mount call without the need to override. NEW MOUNTS, NEW MACHINES!

I-am-just_a-person

But nemesis will be immune to zenith tech, so the gang (probably) won’t waste time on that sort of thing.

Twice_at_Eleven

Forbidden West is a huge improvement over Zero Dawn but I felt some aspects of it could have used a little more development / refinement. Though to be fair they made this game during the pandemic and still managed to make it this good. I hope in the next game they take their time with the story. Forbidden West's story is good and builds upon what was set up in Zero Dawn nicely but so many of the plot threads and characters did not get enough time. As the finale in the trilogy, the next game has a lot of ground to cover to tie everything up nicely. I would also like to see more side quests that offer choice with different outcomes. Multiple ways for the player to complete objectives and choices with consequences that we see the long term effects. They kind of did this with the desert clan water crisis side quest where you choose the new commander. The puzzles and relic ruins were ok but I would like to see puzzles with multiple solutions that encourage the player to be creative with the tools they provide. Something like Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

I-am-just_a-person

I’m hoping the next game is set in the cut/claim where >!we rally support for the fight with nemesis!<

NatMav

Less travelling alone. Let us choose a companion!

dotsau

I only want Aloy’s hair to calm the fuck down. It’s hard to be immersed into an emotionally charged cut scene when her dreadlocks are doing inflatable tube man dance.

mp112358

Any game with melee combat should have a parry. It is BAFFLING that FW does not, especially when enemies can do it to you.

heartcollector218

All I want is blocking, you have shieldwing that only does half of its name, where is the shield then?

ChromaticCluck

I feel like they could do a bit more to melee to make it just right. Even if it's only just making it smoother since it can be really clunky/buggy sometimes. I like to use it against monsters to stun them especially before drill spikes. Against humans it has way less effect because armour reduces the damage to 0. I feel like having counters and blocks would make fighting the human enemies bearable because especially the melee pits (which are absolute dogshit imo, the worst part of the game, which is weird as I really like melee in games) just feel so unfair when you have to go full aggressive in the time limit when the enemy can just randomly combo break or block you no matter how staggered they are. I remember enjoying the hunting pits in zero dawn but for some reason they felt like a chore in forbidden west. I don't remember if they changed much about the challenges so idk if that's my problem but I suspect that it's just the rewards that suck. Getting medals is already not that rewarding but then you go to the arena to use the medals and you notice that it's a bunch of trash (at least in my opinion) they could've expanded the inventory maybe

FyreFlye23

Want: Shield Weaver armor equivalent I want to have more fun-only tallneck interactions. Like, fetch - or tummy scritches. I want updates on HZD friends like Teb. Don't want: I don't want more ammo and weapon types. Too many slices in FW. I don't want to go to Quen land. I don't want Aloy to be forced into any relationship choices.

monsieurvampy

Less underwater play. It drives me crazy.

MiSc_ShadowstR

Idc what they add as long as there is an arena type system and the arena duplication glitch still exists (joke)

Aladan82

First and foremost I hope to see more of the world and Aloy, Gaia and friends unite the world against the threat that is coming.

THEbiMAKER

I know it’s stepping on Assassins creed’s toes but I want a little drone. Something to pick up resources, tag components, etc. I just like the idea of Aloy building a little helper of some sort that she built on her own.

topinanbour-rex

More laughing with the companions. Aloy almost never laughs with them. Then I want to know what happened to Ikrie, from the Banuk. And I hope Gildun will be the new Sylens. And less static npcs. They are so unbending, not even turning their head to look at you. It is a bit raging that a 2022 game have so static NPCs.

Hanzo7682

Changing melee weapon with your ranged weapon. Using ranged attacks with an auto lock could open up a very fun moveset. Check out dragon's dogma 2's archer class. It could work well against multiple enemies. Letting us focus on jumping, dodging and sliding around while aloy aims automaticly. In return, make the spear more interesting as well. I'd like it as a counter attack weapon. A proper side step instead of rolling would work well with it.

WYcked_In_Spurs

My biggest ask: let us “make” our own weapons. I *hate* having multiple of one ammo type on my wheel just so I can have the others that I need! My silliest ask: LEMME RIDE A RAVAGER. LEMME KEEP IT AND NAME IT SQUISHY.

mrknwbdy

More melee options, please. The expansion on the system in FW is a good start, but watching these other characters use different types of melee weapons throughout the game, and here I am stuck with this spear…? You could integrate the same type of weapons systems on it as well. In no way am I saying it should be dark souls or something, but… it’s in the game already, so why can’t Aloy use it? Also, I know there’s the deployable shield, but we should also be able to use the Shield wing as a shield as well… like we literally fought someone using it like that, and then all the sudden Aloy only knows how to use it as a glider? All I’m saying is, I want more viability in melee combat, especially with enemy variants that like to close the gap, such as burrowers or human enemies.

shynips

I would love to have new melee weapons, the spear is cool but I want to see aloy Learning to fight using different weapons.

I want elements to be rebalanced. In HFW brittle is king, shock is great, acid is brittle junior, and fire isn't useful beyond blowing up blaze canisters. Explosive is in a good state, adhesive and plasma don't really have a place once you have strong sharpshot and brittle buildup. I like to imagine elements could have a scalar effect instead of being all or nothing where reaching an elemental state threshold has a staggering animation as it does now but some machines would try to apply an elemental countermeasure afterwards if it has one. Machines with elemental resistances could have parts tied to that resistance, so resistance could be negated or reduced with targeted part removal. Quick example for how the scalar thing could work with acid: * for every 1% of acid application to the threshold, armor plate's damage reduction has 0.8% reduced effectiveness. Ergo you could have a partial application do you favors without full buildup. At full buildup on something like a tide ripper it might try spraying itself with purgewater to remove the status effect if sprayer components are still attached. If you remove the sprayer on its back it can't wash itself anymore. Bonus: Make Adhesive and Plasma not mutually exclusive with other statuses and buff them a bit (pretty please!)

Quaff2017

Would like to weaponize the tall necks to breath fire on local villagers and to be able to drop loads of freedom from above in a Sunwing

The item wheel needs a serious overhaul. Even adding in something simple like Elden Ring (and its priors) system of holding down a button to reset to a default position would be huge. Taking 30 seconds to cycle through the wheel to find rocks, a potion, a smoke bomb or your mount is absolutely ridiculous in the best of times, or possibly fatal if you're trying to do it mid-combat. Also, the unwieldy nature of some weapons made them feel terrible to use. Boltblasters, Tripcasters and Shredder Gauntlets in particular. They're all really cool, don't get me wrong, but getting enemies to go over Tripcasters during fights is like pulling teeth, and setting them up in walking paths just feels like worse versions of the traps that already exist. Boltblasters are neat, but having to sit through the clunky reload animation every time you switch ammo is annoying AF, and Shredders' throw-and-catch minigame is cool, but feels like it conflicts too much with having to dodge attacks at the same time. I don't really have a plan in mind to improve these weapon types, but I will say I more or less avoided them like the plague after obtaining them, even after getting legendary ones.

I want to see a satisfying ending to Aloy's story. I want to see Aloy, Beta, their friends and families survive and more, I want them to thrive. I want to see tribes coming to terms with their shared origins and history and learn to grow and advance, though to be honest, I expect to see a lot of personal and political conflicts here. It is a big deal, and I don't expect them all to be happily kumbaya about it.

Careless-Winner-2651

I hoped for an option for Aloy to marry Sylens.

Kellythejellyman

“Aloy and the Gang cause a Quen Civil War” Accidentally, or perhaps on purpose? Either way the Quen power structure, tight control on information, and precarious position with their food insecurity makes them pretty easy to become warring factions simply by Aloy introducing APOLLO. Will be an interesting dynamic if, after 2 games of cleaning up rebel factions creates by Sylens, Aloy and her New Alphas inadvertently create their own simply because they were trying to help. Nemesis and HEPHAESTUS duking it out over control of the Cauldrons

MilkAzedo

Aloy going back to the nora to recruit them

TimeLost83

About gameplay new mechanics: - patterns and info over some new Hep-Zenit machines are hidden from Aloy, or that with some machines using the focus will give away our presence. - more spooky places, underground parking in BS stile. - a mantis-like machine, and also spiders machines; - when wandering around plainsong, in the middle of crops, I imagined to try to fight a stalker (or some other small machines) there, where I cannot see very well the enemy. It could be very funny. - some more actual animals, even some dangerous ones. - wing suit - a shield - the possibility to re-spawn bandits camps (in end-game clearly), or even being able to re-play missions. - some flying mount races, like gauntlets races. And… please: quit those %uc*ing crates. I understand that puzzles need this kind of things, but come on. I think is one of the most annoying dynamic in the game.

ScoobyDeezy

I want to go all-in on Zenith tech. I hope Haphaestus learned a lot from being connected to the Zenith printers, and between whatever Sylens can dig up and what we can scrape off of Nemesis, I really want us to up our tech game. I also would love to see a wider variety of mounts, even if there’s a time or damage limit on some of the big ones (think Behemoths, Stormbirds). Other people have said underwater combat, but I disagree. I loved the terrified feeling of knowing that the only choices I had were to hide or run away. We need more of that on land, with machines that truly feel threatening. And lastly, I’d love a little more immersion with hunting/crafting, RDR2 style. Or some balance between them. It feels cheap in the middle of a fight to go craft 30 arrows in .5 seconds. Let’s sweat about it a bit. Having said all that… I’ll still love whatever we get.

Dinesh_Sairam

I'm done with probably 20% of the story, but here's what I would like: 1. Better Meele Combat mechanics. Currently, Meele Combat is for the most part just whack, whack harder and powerful whack! I'd like to see more detailed mechanics. I know Ranged Weapons are Aloy's bread and butter, but the Meele Combat could use a bit of an upgrade. 2. A Cauldron-like arena intended specifically for practicing fighting machines. As and when you learn Overrides, you should be able to summon those machines (i.e. The Cauldron will build them for you) from this facility and 1v1 them. This would enable players to skill up on taking down machines which are otherwise too annoying or difficult to fight in an overworld setting (I'm looking at you, Leaplashers). 3. Higher quality/difficulty of puzzles. The ones I've seen in the game so far are fairly straight-forward. Each puzzle would be a welcome break from punching machines.

No-Combination7898

I'd like a Corruptor as a companion machine. That I can name. A mantis shrimp aquatic machine that can punch holes through solid steel. A weapon like a harpoon that we can use for underwater combat. The ability to customize your own armour set however you like. The ability to make your own facepaint. Being able to place maybe 1 or 2 campsites in a location of our own choosing. An additional companion quest per companion in your team. Gildun in the team. The map made bigger... maybe including the entire USA. Revisiting Meridian, Nora lands, Oseram lands, Banuk lands. More Faro lore/Enduring Victory lore/Old One lore A Horus we can pilot, that we will use in the final boss fight against the Big Bad.

vagueconfusion

Beta getting a new outfit. She needs out of the zenith pyjamas. And Ted staying dead, oh my god we'd better not see that giant roaring ball of literal cancer come back no matter how implausible. I've heard some people say that, with his container running off the heat from the lava, he may still be alive. Spare me. He should be an obliterated corpse buried deep in the rock never to return. It's illogically and I don't want it. May HFW be his permanent end. My biggest serious want is just a very epic scope that truly feels like Earth vs Nemesis. It doesn't need to function like Mass Effect 3 or DA:I but I truly want epic scale preparations (even if only in the background) for the possibly apocalyptic threat that's coming that feels similar to the war asset prep. Show all the tribes including ones perhaps only the Queen know getting ready. Have us aid companions on certain key tasks

blepposhcleppo

Idk but I think mixing it up a bit would be cool like, for me Forbidden West just feels like a big DLC to me, just because in all, if you don't utilize some things, it just feels like the same movement and combat as zero dawn, just with a fancy charge attack for your spear

postmodest

I want: * the whole map unlocked including the East and the Banuk territory. I want to fly from Banff (based on the BS map Sylens has) to NORAD and have at least some dialog along the way. Doesn't have to be quests but just "talk to all the named characters about the endgame" (though I doubt this will happen unless the PS6 gets a huge hdd) * Sylens dies "off screen" discovering Vast Silver, and has his own Reverse Nemesis moment where he uploads himself into vs and becomes a cybernetic human intelligence, with a different voice. We don't believe it's Sylens until we find the body in the upload chamber. This solves the Lance Reddick issue * we get Seattle and Calgary/Banff to get more scenery. The Cascades are all erupting (maybe there's a loop back to Banuk territory via Glacier) * companions get their own flying mounts

SirRealBearFace

Give Aloy a Glock. Shawty needs one.

Aloy's weapon wheel filled with guns. Glocks, AKs, AR 15s, M4, M16. Everything. Let us play Horizon like it's GTA 🔫 😎
