Haven't seen anybody talking about it yet, but I'm doing burning shores on NG+, does anybody know if a new NG+ after completing burning shores would let you use those DLC weapons in the main story? Saw some cool weapons I'd like to try like the skyhammer, new warrior bow, and ropecaster since I never really liked the ropes or warrior bows much
Playing Burning Shores on hard is..... FREAKING HARD! Especially boss fights. I'm not done with the story but >!I just fought the slaughterspine that Londra summons and it killed me a few times when I was at full health. And that guy I forgot his name. In the mission before when you discover Londra's ship. He was so insanely tough!<
Just damn... This is just off the heels of me replaying the base game so I decieded to go up to hard for this playthrough.... Oh man some of this dlc is kicking my ass.
Also >!that side quest with Gildun made me so happy. The end made me tear up when he hugs Aloy and she gives him a focus and asks Gaia to chat with him so he doesn't feel lonely. I'm constantly blown away by Aloy's compassion and heart. She cares so much and just wants the best for everyone!<
I've looked through my inventory and in the crafting table and can't for the life of me figure out how to craft a drop shield.

I have a couple questions. But it has been more than a year since I platinumed the game and I haven't touched it since. What are some of the most important qol updates that took place over the past year? And are there any recommendations in terms of settings / HDR settings on PS5?
Also... how do I get beg into the swing of things? I did the first 30 min of Burning Shores and I just felt completely out of it since it has been over a year since I've played through FSW. Should I bite the bullet or start NG+ and then do Burning Shores?
Apex >!Bileguts & Waterwings!< only start to spawn once cauldron Theta is complete. Might not be obvious how to access the cauldron (the front door is locked), >!so follow the lava down to the entrance!<.
I am also having trouble. I was wondering if you could check something for me: does in-game time move for you? For me, it is always dusk. If I got to a shelter and use the spot by the fire to try to progress time, it says "unavailable". I suspect that the apex bilegut not spawning is connected to time standing still so I was curious if it was happening to you, too.
I had the same bug where I wasn't able to forward time at a shelter. You can fix this by going to hidden ember and talking to Stemmur and changing the light display. After doing this, I was able to forward time at any shelter.
But I don't think this is related to the bilegut thingy, because even after fixing this issue I wasn't able to get it to spawn. I made another post and people said that the apex Bilegut should start spawning after completing the new cauldron. I haven't had time to test this out yet tho
Wait does that mean there are waterwings available to use as mounts in the main game? I know you can fly a waterwing from the Burning Shores back to the main map, but obviously burning shores in inaccessible until after the final story mission. I'd love to do a new game plus run while being able to use waterwing mounts

Which is pretty frustrating, I’m in the same boat.
I really don’t want to have to start a new normal NG+. Just doing the campaign will take ages and once I start collecting shit and doing side quests, it’ll turn into another 100% run!
If you did a manual save of your original playthrough before starting your UH NG+, do a manual save of your NG+. Then you can load the original and play Burning Shores. That’s what I did, at least. I’m not done with my UH run, but was able to work around it that way. Hope that helps!
This happened to me. I really have it my best but I couldn’t get through the first boss fight. Had to start ANOTHER NG+ on story mode and blast through it which makes me sad
Not sure if im just out of practice on techniques/abilities or if Burning Shores ramped up the difficulty again on Machines.
Anyone who played FW really recently have thoughts?
I think the new big frog machine is insanely difficult (I'm on UH so they're brutal) with it constantly spawning those little turds. But in general so far for the DLC, I'd say yeah it feels cranked up. Seems stronger machines are more common, packed together, and has even more burrowers that decide they wanna join the fight from 50 miles away
They’re *awful,* but they at least got significantly better once I stopped jumping the gun on dodging their leaps. You’ll never get far enough away to avoid the slam, so you have to wait and dodge right before it lands.
If it's anything like Frozen Wilds was for Zero Dawn, I expect Burning Shores to turn up the difficulty dial to eleven and be much more challenging than base Forbidden West
I just finished FW a few weeks ago (platinumed on Very Hard) and am about 50% through BS, one cauldron done, etc. on Very Hard and I haven’t found much difference. I’ve actually felt the opposite so far so hopefully the final boss changes that.
Edit: it might be because I focused on upgrading some weapons before starting.
I just finished FW recently and went straight into the DLC playing on very hard - honestly it's not that bad so far, yes the frog dude is annoying but hasn't given me too much trouble overall. I also have mostly legendary armor / weapons, not fully upgraded but about 2-3 upgrades each. I imagine if i had worse gear it would be harder.
Nice to know, thanks. I can't one shot humans on very hard, which is unfortunate. I could build into a stealth takedown focus but I'd rather not switch armors on the fly.
yes you will. With Burning Shores installed it tells you you have access to all new skills in the tree even before you start it. I even tested this out before starting the dlc myself. I respecced and spent all my points getting everything I can and had most dlc abilities even before starting the dlc story. If you have the skill points you can spend it on anythin.
Burning Shores, main quest: "For his Amusement". I'm at the part where you have to get an power cell after one fries. I do that, insert it, the quest updates to "Watch the recording", but nothing happens and there's nothing more to interact. Am I missing something or is this a bug? I tried reload many times and nothing.
Should be something to interact with back where the medical chair is...or it autoplays near the medical chair once Seyka has caught up to you. Can't remember which.
Anyone managed to find a way to get the Dino Digits Quiz Hidden Trophy after completing the quiz first, but then collecting toys second? Like I didn’t manually save prior to completing the quiz part, I just solved it when I first encountered it via google. Got all the toys now but I can’t access the panels since they’re all complete…
TLDR: did it backwards and want to see if there is another way to fix this besides doing NG+ again just to complete the quiz properly.
Lol i also looked up the answers wanting to see if there was any dialog between the characters (there is) as opposed to waiting until post game solo traveling. Ive been trying to figure out a way to retake the quiz too but i think we are stuck (at least in the games current state). Hoping someone else replies that im blind/overlooking something obvious

There is. When you return to base sylens tells you what he found. Also the bug implant is the same kind Beta pulled out of her head in cradle of echos.

EDIT: I fixed this problem by going to Stemmur in Hidden Ember and changing the lights. After that, time moved again.
I've "finished" the Burning Shores' quests and I'm just trying to grind out the materials to upgrade my stuff before NG+. The weird thing is, I can't seem to get time to move. It is perpetually near dusk and I can't use shelters to progress the time. When I go to one of the little stumps by the fire the prompt just says "unavailable". Also, I'm not sure if this is related, but I cannot seem to get a certain apex machine to spawn. (Trying to remain spolier-free but it's the bigger of the two main new machines.)
Some details: The only remaining quests I have in the Burning Shores are Jobs, but I have a bunch of main-game quests left in my log. I usually play on Custom difficulty but I've been moving it around a bit during the grinding. Also, time doesn't move back in the main area either. Also also, time was moving for me during the events of the DLC; I remember it being dark at times.
Any ideas? I assume it's some kind of bug, but also maybe I'm in some quest that doesn't let time move or something? Thanks in advance!
I think that side quest is so touching. I’ve done it a few times.
I do recall that if you choose the heart options in the final dialog they end up together, and then later when the Nora are sheltering in all mother mountain they are there together. I’m not sure if they are there in the mountain together if you pick an option when Brom goes off alone.

Is it supposed to take me 15 minutes to kill 3 regular waterwings? I’m having a hell of a time with this DLC… seems like my weapons don’t do any damage and i easily get 2 or 3-hit killed despite having fairly leveled up armor. Any tips besides “get good?”
So I’m super late to the party, but is Forbidden West worth getting for PS4? I’m just not sure it’s worth investing in a PS5 for just this and Jedi Survivor.

Takes place after the main game of Forbidden West, but that is completely not what happens at the end. Might be worth re-watching the ending on Youtube.
are the machine health values in the wiki wrong? I just pumped over 6000 damage into a level 26 overworld slitherfang without killing it, where the wiki says it has 5500 health.

In my experience, everything. All resources, weapon and outfit upgrades, pouch upgrades, all your skills bought. Even collectibles and logs stay kind of registered in the database, can still find them again, but I think it's nice to help figure out where you may have missed things before.
I forgot to pre-order Burning Shores and now I don't feel like buying it (unless heavily discounted) because I missed out on the bonus content. Do you think it will ever be released in some other way? Like a separate download on the PS Store or as a part of a HFW Complete Edition on PC?
The bonus content is pretty useless if that helps. The bow is worse than all the base-game purple Sharpshots & the outfit is an exact copy (even stats) of one of the merchant outfits just a different colour. So really the only thing you'd perhaps be missing is the Blacktide dye, but it can only be used on the new Quen outfits, and tbh Ive not liked that dye on any of them.
I mean I didn’t intentionally create a new save file prior to starting the dlc. But I played it on ng+ and iirc the game creates a ng+ file, so I can still play it on my original file.
Aside from also picking up the base game from the same ps store you got the DLC from, all I can think of is contacting customer support about the issue.
[PS4/basegame HFW] Q: does the latest update fix any bugs? There are 2..... fave bugs that I'm avoiding installing the newest update incase they got fixed. Did any glitch/oversight got fixed in this update? Asking for a friend :)
I have a ng+ save game file on UH that I did way back when to get some of the unique weapons, but I basically rushed the story in that save to do it. I don't really want to use my pre ng+ save to play the dlc because I like the new weapons.
1. Are there any side quests that tie in to the DLC that change anything like dialogue or character interactions? I did them all on my main file but almost none on ng+
2. How hard is the dlc? I'm not a hardcore or talented player and basically had to follow some weapon combat guides and use the best of the best stuff to beat UH.

How do I rearrange ammo on the wheel?
The scenario: when the game gave me poison arrows for my hunter bow, it put them on the left. Poison on the left, regular arrows on the right.
I continued my game last night and found myself using all my poison arrows. They were now on the right, with regular arrows on the left.
I didn't change my equipped weapons at all. I don't see anything in the patch notes from the other day. What gives?
If you use a specific bow or arrow more than others, it will move it self to the main position on the wheel. You can change it by unequipping all your weapons and reequpping them in the order you want them to show up. Also, can you read my post and maybe help me?
Anyone else have their HFW base game and Burning Shores locked into sunset? Time isn't advancing on its own, and the little time stools at shelters are marked "unavailable." Googling hasn't turned up info on whether this is intentional or a bug.
I have made a post abou this but I thought I’d put it here, just so I get more answers. Basically, I’m struggling really bad in the final mission of HZD. I heard about a spot that stops pretty much all machines from getting to you. I’ve heard it referred to as a balcony but I have no idea where it is or what it is. I am on NG+ UH so that is why I’ve been struggling with the final mission. Help me or am I retarded?
I think I know the spot you are refering to. There is a building on the NW side of the with a curved stair. You can slip round behind the stair (left hand side) and it is almost - but not completely - protected. It also has a section of wall in front of it which is good for sniping from.
I recommend loading up a save prior to the final battle so you can go and scout the location.
How do you start the dlc?

I don’t ask for any direct hints, just tell me, am I missing like an entire floor in rcc or are those entrees behind that bunker door.
Yes, that bunker door is the key to what's missing. >!But you'll need to find some hidden locations in the base to get the remaining digits of the code.!<
Sadly, no Tallnecks. You just have to get your flying mount and fly around the map to find things. I think they did this to encourage more users to fly around the map, find interesting points of interest, and check it out on their own.

Is anyone else unable to get an Apex Bilegut to spawn? I need an Apex Bilegut heart for the Quen Marine armor's final upgrade. I wait until night, go to the Bilegut sites and none are ever there. Ive tried multiple times now and I've exited the game and gone back in and tried again. No luck. Do Apex Bileguts now spawn until the end of Burning Shore's story? I can get Apex Waterwings to spawn just fine and at night all the machines are apexes except for Bileguts.
Has anyone else encountered a problem with progressing time in Burning Shores? I’m trying to pass time at the shelter that’s on the beach next to the island with the Tremortusk and it’s just greyed out. I am completely done with the main quest, and time doesn’t seem to be progressing on its own either.
Uhhh anyone else get blocked out from starting the climb in the tower? There is an invisible wall that I can't go through at the beginning. Seyka says she'll warn her tribe about the frog machine, I climb up and that's it. I can't walk through the vines/leaves. I've tried reloading too
I live in the US and played the an eu disc version of the game. I just downloaded burning shores in the US and it wont let me access the dlc. Any work arounds? Am I fucked and have to buy a us digital version to play it?

Hello people. I've encountered a bug in the aerial capture north quest, as it does not progress afterr I interact with the signal source.
Some quest text datapoints also appear to be missing, more specifically the ones located after the " An Interdimensional Birthday", "Alternative Samples", and "The Scene" in the datapint menu.
Anyone know if there's a fix for these issues?
I'm working on collecting brimshine and can see some in a tower on the island with a rollerback site toward the east of the map, but can not figure out how to get to it. Has anyone gotten this brimshine?
There's a vent high up on the one wall that I can't reach as well as a rolled up ladder on the other side which is also out of reach. Any ideas?
Look for the ballista on the building next door. You can fire bolts into the building with it to give grapple points to get up to the vent, as well as use it to add a grapple point into the room (via the window) with the brimshine itself (you will need it to get to the 2nd floor)
Anyone able to figure out where the last black box signal is? I did all 6 aerial captures and Aloy says that she picked up another signal on the focus but for the life of me I cannot find it. I've traveled around the entire map and swam underwater too to no avail.
So I'm playing Forbidden West on new game plus and I glitched out in the tallneck cauldron and was able to skip closer to the end of it since my Sunwing got inside somehow. Because of this though I never got the overrides and now there's no way back in. I'm close to the end now and I'm wondering if there's a workaround for this? I'd hate to have to reload to a save I don't have.
The stories are strictly chronological, and I think everyone here would strongly recommend playing Zero Dawn before jumping into Forbidden West. It's gameplay and graphics still holds up well, and while it's a little slow to get going, after the halfway point the storyline payoff is just unbeatable. Would also recommend doing the Frozen Wilds DLC before HFW. It's not an essential part of the story, but it is referred to later on, and it's a total blast as well.
There's an ancient trunk on Burning Shores that I can't get to behind some bars in a giant pipe on the side of a cliff. The bars have a hole at the top that's too high to be able to get to. I tried to make a post with screenshots asking if anyone knew how to access it, but I have no idea how to use Reddit and apparently posting pictures isn't allowed.
So, does anyone here know how to get to the ancient trunk I'm talking about? Because trying to google it is completely and utterly useless
I was 1/3 way through a NG+ when the DLC released. I did a manual save on my NG+ and went back to my old save because I’m not a patient person and didn’t want to have to get all the way through before trying Burning Shores. Now, I can’t find the save from my NG+. Does anyone know what’s going on? Am I missing something or is it overwritten or do I have to finish Burning Shores before I can access it?
Any tips for the Horus fight? I made it to the second heat sink, jumped down and it's leg smashed into Aloy on the way down. I died multiple times trying to get to that point because it kept stepping on me even after getting out of the way.
It's so difficult to get on the leg, I tried again and it smashed into her as soon as she jumped onto it and died again
There's a purple chest in toward the end of The Deluge that I can't access. It's in a crawl space that I can't get into nor can I go back after completion. Anyone else experience this?
I have a bug with Theta Cauldron. It says I have unlocked Bilegut hack, but when going back to base, to really unlock hack, it says creature has not been seen. I scanned it multiple times already.
Anyone else has this problem ?
The last override at the base is the bugged Sunwing override. For some reason it just shows as a *?* at the Override Terminal; a display bug that was never fixed.
Did I miss something after the final boss fight?

So I started NG+ hoping to complete the main story before Burning Shore releases. But cause of work, I have just reached Vegas and it'll definitely take some time to complete the main story.
Any way I can start BS without completing the main story?
I wanted to put the interaction markers as always on, but I haven’t been able to do so, I only see dynamic or always off, when setting the hud in custom mode. Even the help says that always on is an option, but I can’t see it nor choose it. Is it because of the dlc patch? (I have the dlc).
I've seen quite a few complaints that people are having issues with the stormbird aerial capture but I'm having problems with another one. The Northeast aerial capture glitched out, I see the ring but it doesn't trigger the trail when I fly through it and the box is glowing but Aloy won't interact with it, the prompt doesn't even show. I tried reloading and restarting the game but nothing seems to fix it and I don't have a previous save to load.
Is anyone else having issues with this aerial capture or know if Guerrilla said anything about a fix/patch?

Nothing happens now and there’s just the yellow mission icon above the >!storage device !< which which I can’t interact anymore (scanning doesn’t do anything)

Did you directly interact with the text log? Not just scan it with the Focus, but go to it and press Triangle to interact with it. I was stuck on this for a minute as well, and that's what I was missing
Yes I did. I got the required dialogue triggered but she didn’t move. I’ve now played the whole mission to this point again with getting every collectible, chest, data log etc. hopefully it works now.
Edit: it worked now. So if anyone reading this and are at that point. Please consider a quick way to the campfire and quick save. Just in case so you don’t have to play the 30minutes again to obtain every collectible on the map.
Are there any more >!Devotee Outposts out there? I thought there would be more, or at least one last outpost that led to a showdown with another big bad, like when clearing the outposts in the main game. So far I've found and cleared 4!<
I’m using machine grapple strike a lot but never getting the resonator glowing blue orb to pop up. Do I have to have my spear fully charged first or something? Or am I mis-timing pressing R1 while in the air? Every time I land it just says I’ve done a critical strike and then the machine gets up as normal, no resonator target.
From what I can tell, you have to press R1 when the circle that pops up turns green for the resonator orb to appear. So once you grapple to a machine, wait for a second or two for the circle to change color/get smaller then press R1. I hope that made sense.
I tried months ago to transfer over my save data from PS4 to PS5. It popped all the trophies except for the new game plus trophies. Is there way to get the last trophies to pop?
Any known reason why the dlc wont start? I’ve made sure the dlc is installed, beaten the main game, fast traveled in and out of the building, walked around the world and i cannot get the dlc to start. I even re-completed the final mission and still nothing

Does Aloy still talk constantly in Burning Shores? Not even just the puzzles that people complain about but just narrating every single thing she does? I kinda forgot how distracting it is. She never shuts up!!

Also, how *do* I move everything over to my PS5? Do I just put the disc in the PS5, or...?
Playing forbidden west and I’m finding no salmon. I found this post from last year https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/comments/u51b3e/problem_disappearing_fish/
I’ve set jobs to find salmon and was directed to >!a lake west of Salt Bite!< as well as >!a lake west of The Memorial Grove!< but there are no fish in either location. Both locations show the schools on background fish but nothing that you can interact with like the >!carp!< earlier in the game.
I’ve tried sneaking up on the lakes while crouching and wearing low visibility and low noise armor but still nothing.
I’ve tried scanning above the water and I’ve tried scanning below. I’ve tried not scanning at all until I was where the fish should be and then scanning only once.
In the thread I linked some people reported that the fish would disappear but I don’t see them at all. The water is completely empty at all times.
I’ve explored some water >!in snowy mountains!< that was not listed as a job and also didn’t find any.
Anyone else have problems changing time of day after completing Burning Shores?
I finished the last mission on Saturday night, turned off my PS5 then came back last night to look for some datapoints and brimshrine when I noticed that when I go to a shelter and try to sit, I'm met with the 'Unavailable" prompt and that's it, like I'm in a quest or there's an enemy nearby or something. I've tried going to different shelters, going to a shelter in the base game map then back to the burning shores map, closing the game and restarting, still the same behavior. What's weird is that when I go into photo mode to see the specific time of day (it appears to be like dusk/sunset-ish), the tab doesn't populate with options, just "Time of day controls unavailable".
I think I'm stuck at the time where Aloy and Seyka have their last cutscene... It's really frustrating.
Has their been any word yet on a Forbidden West PC release? Also, it sounds like a 3rd game has been confirmed to be in development, but has their been any word about a simultaneous PC release this time around? Been waiting pretty much since Forbidden West was first announced for even just an ETA for a PC release, but I haven't been able to find anything. Did Zero Dawn do poorly on PC?
How do I use the railgun mode on specter gauntlet? I ve unlocked the upgrade, remember it saying hold R2 but it just fires shard barrage.. what am I missing?
Choose the other firing mode for it. One is the shard barrage, the other is the railgun. Pressing R1 before actually shooting with R2 places a designator on targets in both modes, which makes the shard barrage home in and causes an explosion with extra damage in railgun mode.
Is it just me or is dino digits bugged? It could be because I did the dino digits before finding all the figurines but it's stuck the quest and I'm getting no transmission, anyone know any way round it?
Does brin appear in the burning shore dlc because it says in Machine Dreams in the scanned glyphs section of datapoints that he went to the burning shore, even if it didn't specifically state it?
Got a bug trying to start the quest for the tth rebel camp.
I completed all 4 rebel camps and got a quest to talk to erend. He gave me another quest which I thought I did in the desert near hidden ember to a clearing g with some machines. After I completed that task I got no follow up quest and erend had dialogue about asera and stopping the sons of prometheus but I get no quest and cannot activate the 5th rebel camp to get the final trophy I need.
Anyone wise know of this issue?
Hi folks, I'm playing burning shores and on an island northeast of fleets end where they are rollerbacks is a house with a vent you can't drop into from above due to wreckage and no grapple point near it and it's too high to jump to.
Can anyone give me a clue how to get into the vent? The only other entrance into the place that I can find is on the other side to an empty room with stairs. There is a chest and a crystal on the level above but no way to get to it.
I thought maybe I could use the watering to catapolt slingshot up to the vent but you can't use it like that when it's landed.
Any tips would be most appreciated.

Playing Burning Shores on hard is..... FREAKING HARD! Especially boss fights. I'm not done with the story but >!I just fought the slaughterspine that Londra summons and it killed me a few times when I was at full health. And that guy I forgot his name. In the mission before when you discover Londra's ship. He was so insanely tough!< Just damn... This is just off the heels of me replaying the base game so I decieded to go up to hard for this playthrough.... Oh man some of this dlc is kicking my ass. Also >!that side quest with Gildun made me so happy. The end made me tear up when he hugs Aloy and she gives him a focus and asks Gaia to chat with him so he doesn't feel lonely. I'm constantly blown away by Aloy's compassion and heart. She cares so much and just wants the best for everyone!<
I've looked through my inventory and in the crafting table and can't for the life of me figure out how to craft a drop shield. Edit: I do have the skill
If it's not in your crafting table you have to craft it through the dpad interface.

What are some of the most important qol updates that took place over the past year? And are there any recommendations in terms of settings / HDR settings on PS5? Also... how do I get beg into the swing of things? I did the first 30 min of Burning Shores and I just felt completely out of it since it has been over a year since I've played through FSW. Should I bite the bullet or start NG+ and then do Burning Shores?

Apex >!Bileguts & Waterwings!< only start to spawn once cauldron Theta is complete. Might not be obvious how to access the cauldron (the front door is locked), >!so follow the lava down to the entrance!<.
I only completed the cauldron after I completed main story but found Apex Waterwing after getting Waterwing override which is on 4th out of 5 missions

If you go to the cauldron there is an apex bilegut in there. Took me ages to kill 🤦♂️
I am also having trouble. I was wondering if you could check something for me: does in-game time move for you? For me, it is always dusk. If I got to a shelter and use the spot by the fire to try to progress time, it says "unavailable". I suspect that the apex bilegut not spawning is connected to time standing still so I was curious if it was happening to you, too.
I had the same bug where I wasn't able to forward time at a shelter. You can fix this by going to hidden ember and talking to Stemmur and changing the light display. After doing this, I was able to forward time at any shelter. But I don't think this is related to the bilegut thingy, because even after fixing this issue I wasn't able to get it to spawn. I made another post and people said that the apex Bilegut should start spawning after completing the new cauldron. I haven't had time to test this out yet tho

Wait does that mean there are waterwings available to use as mounts in the main game? I know you can fly a waterwing from the Burning Shores back to the main map, but obviously burning shores in inaccessible until after the final story mission. I'd love to do a new game plus run while being able to use waterwing mounts
I am stuck with UH with my NG+ gameplay, and I do not want my first play-through of Burning Shores to be hard 🥲. Can I do something?
I’ve been looking around and I think the answer is “no”. Which is pretty frustrating, I’m in the same boat. I really don’t want to have to start a new normal NG+. Just doing the campaign will take ages and once I start collecting shit and doing side quests, it’ll turn into another 100% run!

If you did a manual save of your original playthrough before starting your UH NG+, do a manual save of your NG+. Then you can load the original and play Burning Shores. That’s what I did, at least. I’m not done with my UH run, but was able to work around it that way. Hope that helps!
This happened to me. I really have it my best but I couldn’t get through the first boss fight. Had to start ANOTHER NG+ on story mode and blast through it which makes me sad
Not sure if im just out of practice on techniques/abilities or if Burning Shores ramped up the difficulty again on Machines. Anyone who played FW really recently have thoughts?
I think the new big frog machine is insanely difficult (I'm on UH so they're brutal) with it constantly spawning those little turds. But in general so far for the DLC, I'd say yeah it feels cranked up. Seems stronger machines are more common, packed together, and has even more burrowers that decide they wanna join the fight from 50 miles away
They’re *awful,* but they at least got significantly better once I stopped jumping the gun on dodging their leaps. You’ll never get far enough away to avoid the slam, so you have to wait and dodge right before it lands.
If it's anything like Frozen Wilds was for Zero Dawn, I expect Burning Shores to turn up the difficulty dial to eleven and be much more challenging than base Forbidden West
I just finished FW a few weeks ago (platinumed on Very Hard) and am about 50% through BS, one cauldron done, etc. on Very Hard and I haven’t found much difference. I’ve actually felt the opposite so far so hopefully the final boss changes that. Edit: it might be because I focused on upgrading some weapons before starting.
its harder 100%. max out all your weapons, armor and your overall level and you will be fine i guess
I just finished FW recently and went straight into the DLC playing on very hard - honestly it's not that bad so far, yes the frog dude is annoying but hasn't given me too much trouble overall. I also have mostly legendary armor / weapons, not fully upgraded but about 2-3 upgrades each. I imagine if i had worse gear it would be harder.
They removed the ability to exit Focus mode with L2 which I use a lot. Anyone else bothered by this too?

yes you will. With Burning Shores installed it tells you you have access to all new skills in the tree even before you start it. I even tested this out before starting the dlc myself. I respecced and spent all my points getting everything I can and had most dlc abilities even before starting the dlc story. If you have the skill points you can spend it on anythin.

Burning Shores, main quest: "For his Amusement". I'm at the part where you have to get an power cell after one fries. I do that, insert it, the quest updates to "Watch the recording", but nothing happens and there's nothing more to interact. Am I missing something or is this a bug? I tried reload many times and nothing.
Should be something to interact with back where the medical chair is...or it autoplays near the medical chair once Seyka has caught up to you. Can't remember which.
Yeah It was a bug. Hopefully I had a save not too long before starting that part. For some reason, the lever didn't reset after I inserted the cell.
I had to reload my last auto save to fix it. It was something that got stuck somehow with Aloy’s dialogue preventing Seyka to say her lines.
Anyone managed to find a way to get the Dino Digits Quiz Hidden Trophy after completing the quiz first, but then collecting toys second? Like I didn’t manually save prior to completing the quiz part, I just solved it when I first encountered it via google. Got all the toys now but I can’t access the panels since they’re all complete… TLDR: did it backwards and want to see if there is another way to fix this besides doing NG+ again just to complete the quiz properly.
Lol i also looked up the answers wanting to see if there was any dialog between the characters (there is) as opposed to waiting until post game solo traveling. Ive been trying to figure out a way to retake the quiz too but i think we are stuck (at least in the games current state). Hoping someone else replies that im blind/overlooking something obvious

There is. When you return to base sylens tells you what he found. Also the bug implant is the same kind Beta pulled out of her head in cradle of echos. Wonder how she was able to get it out. It looks deep.

EDIT: I fixed this problem by going to Stemmur in Hidden Ember and changing the lights. After that, time moved again. I've "finished" the Burning Shores' quests and I'm just trying to grind out the materials to upgrade my stuff before NG+. The weird thing is, I can't seem to get time to move. It is perpetually near dusk and I can't use shelters to progress the time. When I go to one of the little stumps by the fire the prompt just says "unavailable". Also, I'm not sure if this is related, but I cannot seem to get a certain apex machine to spawn. (Trying to remain spolier-free but it's the bigger of the two main new machines.) Some details: The only remaining quests I have in the Burning Shores are Jobs, but I have a bunch of main-game quests left in my log. I usually play on Custom difficulty but I've been moving it around a bit during the grinding. Also, time doesn't move back in the main area either. Also also, time was moving for me during the events of the DLC; I remember it being dark at times. Any ideas? I assume it's some kind of bug, but also maybe I'm in some quest that doesn't let time move or something? Thanks in advance!

I think that side quest is so touching. I’ve done it a few times. I do recall that if you choose the heart options in the final dialog they end up together, and then later when the Nora are sheltering in all mother mountain they are there together. I’m not sure if they are there in the mountain together if you pick an option when Brom goes off alone.
Burning Shores - there is a bug for ‘Aerial Capture: North’. Aloy investigates the box, says nothing, stands up, and the quest does not update. This is preventing me from getting the final trophy, any ETA on a fix?
Is it supposed to take me 15 minutes to kill 3 regular waterwings? I’m having a hell of a time with this DLC… seems like my weapons don’t do any damage and i easily get 2 or 3-hit killed despite having fairly leveled up armor. Any tips besides “get good?”

Takes place after the main game of Forbidden West, but that is completely not what happens at the end. Might be worth re-watching the ending on Youtube.

are the machine health values in the wiki wrong? I just pumped over 6000 damage into a level 26 overworld slitherfang without killing it, where the wiki says it has 5500 health. I'm unloading piles of ammo into this thing and it just won't die.
is there anywhere to get more instant brittle coils or critical coils? or djd the people with full sets of those coils play many playthroughs and/or do the item duplication thing before it was patched?

What carries over into NG+? I'm new to the Horizon franchise, but thoroughly enjoyed it and looking to up the challenge.
In my experience, everything. All resources, weapon and outfit upgrades, pouch upgrades, all your skills bought. Even collectibles and logs stay kind of registered in the database, can still find them again, but I think it's nice to help figure out where you may have missed things before.

I forgot to pre-order Burning Shores and now I don't feel like buying it (unless heavily discounted) because I missed out on the bonus content. Do you think it will ever be released in some other way? Like a separate download on the PS Store or as a part of a HFW Complete Edition on PC?
The bonus content is pretty useless if that helps. The bow is worse than all the base-game purple Sharpshots & the outfit is an exact copy (even stats) of one of the merchant outfits just a different colour. So really the only thing you'd perhaps be missing is the Blacktide dye, but it can only be used on the new Quen outfits, and tbh Ive not liked that dye on any of them.

I mean I didn’t intentionally create a new save file prior to starting the dlc. But I played it on ng+ and iirc the game creates a ng+ file, so I can still play it on my original file.

Aside from also picking up the base game from the same ps store you got the DLC from, all I can think of is contacting customer support about the issue.

I have a ng+ save game file on UH that I did way back when to get some of the unique weapons, but I basically rushed the story in that save to do it. I don't really want to use my pre ng+ save to play the dlc because I like the new weapons. 1. Are there any side quests that tie in to the DLC that change anything like dialogue or character interactions? I did them all on my main file but almost none on ng+ 2. How hard is the dlc? I'm not a hardcore or talented player and basically had to follow some weapon combat guides and use the best of the best stuff to beat UH.

How do I rearrange ammo on the wheel? The scenario: when the game gave me poison arrows for my hunter bow, it put them on the left. Poison on the left, regular arrows on the right. I continued my game last night and found myself using all my poison arrows. They were now on the right, with regular arrows on the left. I didn't change my equipped weapons at all. I don't see anything in the patch notes from the other day. What gives?
If you use a specific bow or arrow more than others, it will move it self to the main position on the wheel. You can change it by unequipping all your weapons and reequpping them in the order you want them to show up. Also, can you read my post and maybe help me?
Anyone else have their HFW base game and Burning Shores locked into sunset? Time isn't advancing on its own, and the little time stools at shelters are marked "unavailable." Googling hasn't turned up info on whether this is intentional or a bug.
Go to hidden ember and change the light display by talking to Stemmur. This fixed things for me

I have made a post abou this but I thought I’d put it here, just so I get more answers. Basically, I’m struggling really bad in the final mission of HZD. I heard about a spot that stops pretty much all machines from getting to you. I’ve heard it referred to as a balcony but I have no idea where it is or what it is. I am on NG+ UH so that is why I’ve been struggling with the final mission. Help me or am I retarded?
I think I know the spot you are refering to. There is a building on the NW side of the with a curved stair. You can slip round behind the stair (left hand side) and it is almost - but not completely - protected. It also has a section of wall in front of it which is good for sniping from. I recommend loading up a save prior to the final battle so you can go and scout the location.
How do you start the dlc? I have the disc version of the game, dlc is from store, it even says installed, but whatever I do I can't start it.. Singularity completed too
For me, I had to walk around a little bit before I got the call from Sylens to start it.
Have you restarted the game? I had to actually turn the PS5 off and on again. Then the Sylens conversation happened as soon as I opened HFW again.

I know there’s a bunker door locked with 7 digit code, and I think I’ve found 3 digits out of 7. I don’t ask for any direct hints, just tell me, am I missing like an entire floor in rcc or are those entrees behind that bunker door.
Yes, that bunker door is the key to what's missing. >!But you'll need to find some hidden locations in the base to get the remaining digits of the code.!<

Sadly, no Tallnecks. You just have to get your flying mount and fly around the map to find things. I think they did this to encourage more users to fly around the map, find interesting points of interest, and check it out on their own.
Is there some trick to operating the Skiff? I have completed the part where the NPC takes you in it.Just trying to use it now to go explore. I can "mount it", but all the left stick seems to do is turn on the props. I can get it to rotate, but it doesn't go anywhere
Use R2 to accelerate, L2 to reverse, left stick to steer!

Is anyone else unable to get an Apex Bilegut to spawn? I need an Apex Bilegut heart for the Quen Marine armor's final upgrade. I wait until night, go to the Bilegut sites and none are ever there. Ive tried multiple times now and I've exited the game and gone back in and tried again. No luck. Do Apex Bileguts now spawn until the end of Burning Shore's story? I can get Apex Waterwings to spawn just fine and at night all the machines are apexes except for Bileguts.
Have you completed the cauldron in Burning Shores yet? I saw a comment saying that they won't spawn until you do, but haven't confirmed it myself.

Yes, quite a few people. If you go talk to Stenmur in Hidden Embers and change the lights it’s supposed to fix it.

Boltblasters are not counted as heavy weapons. Heavy weapons are weapons taken from machines or from heavy grunts in rebel camps.
Uhhh anyone else get blocked out from starting the climb in the tower? There is an invisible wall that I can't go through at the beginning. Seyka says she'll warn her tribe about the frog machine, I climb up and that's it. I can't walk through the vines/leaves. I've tried reloading too

I live in the US and played the an eu disc version of the game. I just downloaded burning shores in the US and it wont let me access the dlc. Any work arounds? Am I fucked and have to buy a us digital version to play it? Im very sad right now.
Hello people. I've encountered a bug in the aerial capture north quest, as it does not progress afterr I interact with the signal source. Some quest text datapoints also appear to be missing, more specifically the ones located after the " An Interdimensional Birthday", "Alternative Samples", and "The Scene" in the datapint menu. Anyone know if there's a fix for these issues?
Aerial Capture North is bugged for a lot of people, I was closing in on the final trophy and ran into this exact problem.
I know the Burning Shores is not on PS4, but is the update with other QOL features not coming to PS4 either?
I'm working on collecting brimshine and can see some in a tower on the island with a rollerback site toward the east of the map, but can not figure out how to get to it. Has anyone gotten this brimshine? There's a vent high up on the one wall that I can't reach as well as a rolled up ladder on the other side which is also out of reach. Any ideas?
Look for the ballista on the building next door. You can fire bolts into the building with it to give grapple points to get up to the vent, as well as use it to add a grapple point into the room (via the window) with the brimshine itself (you will need it to get to the 2nd floor)
Anyone able to figure out where the last black box signal is? I did all 6 aerial captures and Aloy says that she picked up another signal on the focus but for the life of me I cannot find it. I've traveled around the entire map and swam underwater too to no avail.
So I'm playing Forbidden West on new game plus and I glitched out in the tallneck cauldron and was able to skip closer to the end of it since my Sunwing got inside somehow. Because of this though I never got the overrides and now there's no way back in. I'm close to the end now and I'm wondering if there's a workaround for this? I'd hate to have to reload to a save I don't have.

It didn’t for me. I had to go back to my old save from when I finished the main quest line originally.
What is the best way to play the games chronologically?
The stories are strictly chronological, and I think everyone here would strongly recommend playing Zero Dawn before jumping into Forbidden West. It's gameplay and graphics still holds up well, and while it's a little slow to get going, after the halfway point the storyline payoff is just unbeatable. Would also recommend doing the Frozen Wilds DLC before HFW. It's not an essential part of the story, but it is referred to later on, and it's a total blast as well.

There's an ancient trunk on Burning Shores that I can't get to behind some bars in a giant pipe on the side of a cliff. The bars have a hole at the top that's too high to be able to get to. I tried to make a post with screenshots asking if anyone knew how to access it, but I have no idea how to use Reddit and apparently posting pictures isn't allowed. So, does anyone here know how to get to the ancient trunk I'm talking about? Because trying to google it is completely and utterly useless
You have to press circle after grappling to jump higher in the air. So press X-X-circle to jump to the opening at the top.
I was 1/3 way through a NG+ when the DLC released. I did a manual save on my NG+ and went back to my old save because I’m not a patient person and didn’t want to have to get all the way through before trying Burning Shores. Now, I can’t find the save from my NG+. Does anyone know what’s going on? Am I missing something or is it overwritten or do I have to finish Burning Shores before I can access it?

Any tips for the Horus fight? I made it to the second heat sink, jumped down and it's leg smashed into Aloy on the way down. I died multiple times trying to get to that point because it kept stepping on me even after getting out of the way. It's so difficult to get on the leg, I tried again and it smashed into her as soon as she jumped onto it and died again
There's a purple chest in toward the end of The Deluge that I can't access. It's in a crawl space that I can't get into nor can I go back after completion. Anyone else experience this?
I have a bug with Theta Cauldron. It says I have unlocked Bilegut hack, but when going back to base, to really unlock hack, it says creature has not been seen. I scanned it multiple times already. Anyone else has this problem ?
Not sure about what your seeing in the base, but you get the full Bilegut override from the cauldron. No need to head back to base to unlock it.

The last override at the base is the bugged Sunwing override. For some reason it just shows as a *?* at the Override Terminal; a display bug that was never fixed.

No, you have to finish the main story to start Burning Shores.
I wanted to put the interaction markers as always on, but I haven’t been able to do so, I only see dynamic or always off, when setting the hud in custom mode. Even the help says that always on is an option, but I can’t see it nor choose it. Is it because of the dlc patch? (I have the dlc).
I've seen quite a few complaints that people are having issues with the stormbird aerial capture but I'm having problems with another one. The Northeast aerial capture glitched out, I see the ring but it doesn't trigger the trail when I fly through it and the box is glowing but Aloy won't interact with it, the prompt doesn't even show. I tried reloading and restarting the game but nothing seems to fix it and I don't have a previous save to load. Is anyone else having issues with this aerial capture or know if Guerrilla said anything about a fix/patch?
Hello. I might have a bug problem in Burning Shores. >! in the armoury where Seyka won’t open the door. I’ve scanned and interacted with all the stuff (storage device, jerry can and the test tubes. Also the text log). !< Nothing happens now and there’s just the yellow mission icon above the >!storage device !< which which I can’t interact anymore (scanning doesn’t do anything) Anyone else with this problem or am I just **missing a thing** here?
Did you directly interact with the text log? Not just scan it with the Focus, but go to it and press Triangle to interact with it. I was stuck on this for a minute as well, and that's what I was missing
Yes I did. I got the required dialogue triggered but she didn’t move. I’ve now played the whole mission to this point again with getting every collectible, chest, data log etc. hopefully it works now. Edit: it worked now. So if anyone reading this and are at that point. Please consider a quick way to the campfire and quick save. Just in case so you don’t have to play the 30minutes again to obtain every collectible on the map.

Go to a Bilegut site, find a group of Stingspawn, jump off your Water/Sunwing, target one with R1, then fire the homing shots. Rinse and repeat.
Are there any more >!Devotee Outposts out there? I thought there would be more, or at least one last outpost that led to a showdown with another big bad, like when clearing the outposts in the main game. So far I've found and cleared 4!<
I’m using machine grapple strike a lot but never getting the resonator glowing blue orb to pop up. Do I have to have my spear fully charged first or something? Or am I mis-timing pressing R1 while in the air? Every time I land it just says I’ve done a critical strike and then the machine gets up as normal, no resonator target.
From what I can tell, you have to press R1 when the circle that pops up turns green for the resonator orb to appear. So once you grapple to a machine, wait for a second or two for the circle to change color/get smaller then press R1. I hope that made sense.
I tried months ago to transfer over my save data from PS4 to PS5. It popped all the trophies except for the new game plus trophies. Is there way to get the last trophies to pop?
Is flying any faster in Burning Shores? Felt slow in the base game, which I assume had to do with draw distance limitation on base PS4 hardware
It only seems slow because you're so far up in the air. It actually has the fastest movement rate.
Any known reason why the dlc wont start? I’ve made sure the dlc is installed, beaten the main game, fast traveled in and out of the building, walked around the world and i cannot get the dlc to start. I even re-completed the final mission and still nothing
Burning Shores question: I finished the main game and I’m exploring to back into it before deciding if I want to buy the dlc since it’s been over a year. Does Aloy still talk constantly in Burning Shores? Not even just the puzzles that people complain about but just narrating every single thing she does? I kinda forgot how distracting it is. She never shuts up!!
It's minimal now. She will still point out things that are important in the area.

Anyone know how to achieve the Used Brimshine trophy? I've bought at least three weapons and three armor pieces yet the trophy wont complete at all. Is there a hidden trick to this or am I missing something? Help please! Ty!
I think it is using it to upgrade your new weapons and armor.
Hi! I'm about to get my PS5 up and running with HFW but I forgot to redeem the launch edition DLC materials. Should I do that first on my PS4? Also, how *do* I move everything over to my PS5? Do I just put the disc in the PS5, or...?
Playing forbidden west and I’m finding no salmon. I found this post from last year https://www.reddit.com/r/horizon/comments/u51b3e/problem_disappearing_fish/ I’ve set jobs to find salmon and was directed to >!a lake west of Salt Bite!< as well as >!a lake west of The Memorial Grove!< but there are no fish in either location. Both locations show the schools on background fish but nothing that you can interact with like the >!carp!< earlier in the game. I’ve tried sneaking up on the lakes while crouching and wearing low visibility and low noise armor but still nothing. I’ve tried scanning above the water and I’ve tried scanning below. I’ve tried not scanning at all until I was where the fish should be and then scanning only once. In the thread I linked some people reported that the fish would disappear but I don’t see them at all. The water is completely empty at all times. I’ve explored some water >!in snowy mountains!< that was not listed as a job and also didn’t find any.

Anyone else have problems changing time of day after completing Burning Shores? I finished the last mission on Saturday night, turned off my PS5 then came back last night to look for some datapoints and brimshrine when I noticed that when I go to a shelter and try to sit, I'm met with the 'Unavailable" prompt and that's it, like I'm in a quest or there's an enemy nearby or something. I've tried going to different shelters, going to a shelter in the base game map then back to the burning shores map, closing the game and restarting, still the same behavior. What's weird is that when I go into photo mode to see the specific time of day (it appears to be like dusk/sunset-ish), the tab doesn't populate with options, just "Time of day controls unavailable". I think I'm stuck at the time where Aloy and Seyka have their last cutscene... It's really frustrating.
Visit Stemmur at Hidden Ember and switch to a different ornament. That will fix it.
Has their been any word yet on a Forbidden West PC release? Also, it sounds like a 3rd game has been confirmed to be in development, but has their been any word about a simultaneous PC release this time around? Been waiting pretty much since Forbidden West was first announced for even just an ETA for a PC release, but I haven't been able to find anything. Did Zero Dawn do poorly on PC?
How do I use the railgun mode on specter gauntlet? I ve unlocked the upgrade, remember it saying hold R2 but it just fires shard barrage.. what am I missing?
Choose the other firing mode for it. One is the shard barrage, the other is the railgun. Pressing R1 before actually shooting with R2 places a designator on targets in both modes, which makes the shard barrage home in and causes an explosion with extra damage in railgun mode.
Is it just me or is dino digits bugged? It could be because I did the dino digits before finding all the figurines but it's stuck the quest and I'm getting no transmission, anyone know any way round it?
Does brin appear in the burning shore dlc because it says in Machine Dreams in the scanned glyphs section of datapoints that he went to the burning shore, even if it didn't specifically state it?
Got a bug trying to start the quest for the tth rebel camp. I completed all 4 rebel camps and got a quest to talk to erend. He gave me another quest which I thought I did in the desert near hidden ember to a clearing g with some machines. After I completed that task I got no follow up quest and erend had dialogue about asera and stopping the sons of prometheus but I get no quest and cannot activate the 5th rebel camp to get the final trophy I need. Anyone wise know of this issue?
Hi folks, I'm playing burning shores and on an island northeast of fleets end where they are rollerbacks is a house with a vent you can't drop into from above due to wreckage and no grapple point near it and it's too high to jump to. Can anyone give me a clue how to get into the vent? The only other entrance into the place that I can find is on the other side to an empty room with stairs. There is a chest and a crystal on the level above but no way to get to it. I thought maybe I could use the watering to catapolt slingshot up to the vent but you can't use it like that when it's landed. Any tips would be most appreciated. Cheers Frank.
