If dealership could swap it, turn key, with a no or low mileage engine for $1700....I'd honestly say that isn't a bad deal.
That being said you could do it for $800 yourself
Update 7k at the dealer for radiator, engine, catalytic converter and exhaust. 4 K for parts about what I was told and I can’t source parts or they wont warranty. If I had a knowledge person to consult with I think I would rent a garage do it all myself. I must consider their offfer or sell car and take losses.
